    Chirashi matsu

One of my go to lunch spots in dtLA! I've now gone often enough to where the owner recognizes me as a regular (which I appreciate!). Sushi Go 55 is a great spot for a quiet, relaxed lunch in Little Tokyo. I came in on a Monday (nice that they're open when many sushi places aren't) and appreciated how calm it was--no crowds and no to little wait (I'm all about efficiency on a busy office day). I ordered one of the lunch specials and was really happy with the quality and value. The fish was fresh. The set came with miso soup and some small sides (potato salad and pickled veggies) which made it feel like a complete meal. When I'm splurging, I go for the chirashi matsu which is a hefty meal and generous in portions and quality. They even validate parking and often remind you if you forget. Parking is easy (which is rare for dtLA) since it's located in a small mall. Service was friendly and efficient, and the space was clean with a traditional feel. Perfect spot if you're looking for a solid sushi lunch without the noise or long lines!

This place is an incredible gem. If you know and like sushi and have never tried this place, you are missing out. Like many, sushi purist place- this place will only give you the best. However unlike most hype-y sushi places, you don't need to deal with unfriendly chefs, long waits, and my favorite- not the loud chaotic atmosphere that many popular sushi places have. Enjoy a quiet secret treasure of LA.

Such a cute little spot in lil tokyo, one of my favorite sushi spots to go to! My go to order is the chirashi bowl, it's so filling and you get a variety of quality sushi to eat!

    Sweet shrimp and iiwashi (sardine)!

Worth the walk away the hustle and bustle. A true hidden gem with seriously the best Chitashi, sashimi, sweet shrimp, ... A must stop if you are in Little Tokoyo. We LOVE Sushi Go 55. Service and calm ambiance was top notch.

Just stumbled across this gem which is located in the same mall as Little Tokyo market place. I would highly recommend the chirashi bento and the black cod! The sushi chefs put so much love into making this beautiful chirashi bento. I was surprised that there was a second layer from the bento box. It was a very nice touch. Ambience was nice and quiet, service was fast and efficient. Would definitely come back!

Excellent, attentive service. Waiter gives you time to review menu and comes right over when he sees you lift your head! Food was great for a lunch menu - super fresh cuts of sashimi. Tempura done just right. Lunch ranges from $25-$30. And we always appreciate validated parking in this neighborhood

Still open!! Don't know why Yelp shows the place is closed. If you eat here please leave a review and change the business to OPEN. Been coming in for 8 years. Good food with very reasonable price. Passed by today with my wife and was surprised on Yelp it said this place is closed. Thanks god so glad that I still coming in and have a good time.

This establishment is still open even though Yelp suggests it might not be. This is a small establishment, and they only have one person, sometimes two people working the sushi bar. If you come in with the right attitude and have patience and understanding that this is artisanal experience that will take time, you will be rewarded. The best experience is had at the sushi bar. Don't be afraid to order your known staples that can be had at any other restaurant. I'm still a fan of Tuna Rolls and Shrimp Tempura Rolls that are not fancy and order those as well. The sushi bar staff can tailor things to taste if you have had some prior experience with omakase. Feel free to ask for suggestions. The best items are the special items on the board with Market Price. I am a very big fan of the Hokkaido scallops. If you like real Japanese beer, they have Orion Beer from Okinawa, Japan. The restaurant also carries a very good selection of sake, both cold and hot. The sushi bar staff can recommend drink pairings for the meal. While the restaurant does not have the looks and ambiance of the top tier sushi restaurants, I go here specifically for the experience that cannot be found anywhere else.

On the 3rd floor of indoor mall. Cozy atmosphere, waiters were attentive. Sushi chefs were quick and all of the fish tasted fresh. Nice, light lunch. Will definitely come back! $71 with tip for all of this and 2 green teas

I stumbled upon this restaurant because I was craving chirashi bowl. I did not expect much since the restaurant was pretty empty on Sunday lunch time. But I was so wrong. The sashimi was fresh and the quality was very good. The sushi rice was well seasoned and everything goes well together. The beautiful presentation in two layers bento boxes was an added bonus. This was one of the best chirashi bowls I have had so far. For around $30, I believe the price was also very fair.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

Had no idea it was going to be this busy on a random Wednesday. But this place is truly a gem! People come here for the Sashimi Lunch ($26) which is an absolute steal considering the quality and amount of food you get! Note: to get the sashimi lunch, you must sit at a table (not the counter). It comes with miso soup, side of pickled veggies, tofu side dish and the pièce de résistance the sashimi platter. They run a tight ship here and understandably so; they want to take care of all their customers waiting. Needless to say, everything was fresh, delicious and most importantly filling. From the very first bite, you could tell the quality was on another level. Every piece of fish tasted unbelievably fresh--like it had just come off the boat a couple of hours earlier. It's rare to find sushi that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate how clean, buttery, and flavorful it is. The salmon sashimi absolutely melted in my mouth and was one of the best I've had in a long time. The tuna was just as impressive, rich with incredible texture and freshness. Every roll and every piece of nigiri was prepared with so much care that it reminded me why I love sushi in the first place. You can really tell they take pride in the quality of their ingredients, and it shows in every bite. The experience went beyond just the food. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had the perfect sushi spot vibe. I wish I could remember our server's name because they were fantastic--giving great recommendations, making us feel genuinely welcomed, and showing us so much hospitality throughout the meal.
