Wu's House was such a great time! The inside decor is stunning. There was a huge japanese cherry blossom tree that made for the perfect background for our family picture. It was my sisters birthday and the staff made sure she had the best time ever. They cook everything in front of you and entertain you the entire time. It is an awesome experience for all ages! I got the chicken hibachi that comes with miso soup, salad, veggies, noodles, and chicken fried rice. You will be leaving with to-go boxes, they are very generous with their portions! I had to call four times to make a reservation. The first three (during business hours) the phone rang off the hook. No auto attendant or voice mail. We were seated at 6:15 and someone dropped off a bowl of cold, soggy edamame and left. 30 minutes later, we were asked if our orders had been taken when we hadn't even spoken to a server. The chicken fried rice was pathetically bland. The steamed veggies equally so. The chicken in the Pad Thai did not taste fresh. The decor is impressive. The food and service severely lacking. It was my first time going to Wu's. I have eaten at all the cooking in front of you restaurants. This by far is the BEST I have been to! The place is huge. They have a very very big entrance area that includes the check-in and a lot of waiting area. The decor is very good. I was handed a pager that will prompt me when my table is ready. I was just simply taking pictures of the waiting area by the time the table was ready. We were served with edamame two bowls as a complimentary item, we ordered Sapporo beer and that actually went really good with the edamame. It's funny when we ask for more edamame. They said it is a charge of six dollars which at least they were honest enough upfront that there will be a charge so we ordered one edamame more in food we ordered 1. Vegetable fried rice. 2. Penang curry. 3. Noodles. 4. And spicy tofu. Everything came in big dish plates. Two of them came with a serving spoon and two without when we asked for two serving spoons. They said we don't have more. I thought they are not understanding our question so we asked another server that we need a serving spoon like the other two and they said yes we are out of it on their dirty and we don't have more so apparently we were serving our two items with forks. The food was OK not great. Penang curry was really good. Since everything was served in large dish plates, the food got cold so fast I think having a ball would keep the food warm. They have a lot of hibachi tables. We were excited to hear about a new restaurant opening in the area. We decided to check it out on Friday during their opening week. We were surprised to see that it's in a standalone building, and the interior is huge - one side with hibachi grills, middle has a sushi bar, and another side is a dining room. The ambiance of the place is quite lively. We checked in with the hostess as we called earlier to make a reservation for a group of 5 people. We were shown to a booth. Upon checking out the menu, there were more than hibachi and sushi, there were menu for Asian fusion dishes. Because we have a kid at the table, we ordered King Crab Rangoon. Main course, we ordered Pad See Ew, Pineapple Chicken, and Thai Basil Shrimp. One of the adults has Gluten allergy, and the server mentioned that Hibachi menu or Sushi can accommodate modification, so a hibachi option of Fillet Mignon and Lobster with fried rice was also ordered. Here's my summary in the dining room section only during their opening week. We didn't experience the hibachi side. 1) Overall food - average. - Crab Rangoon: the kid at the table rejected it after first bite and after checking the interior of the wrapper wasn't cooked thoroughly so it appeared undercooked. We did send back. Instead, we replaced it with Gyoza. - Hibachi dish: Lobster was slightly overcooked, the fillet wasn't a good quality, and the fried rice was too buttery. - Pineapple chicken: good. There was no thick batter, instead it was a very light coating. - Thai Basil Shrimp; This is flavorful. Shrimp was cooked just right. - Pad See Ew: good. The noodle might be slightly overcooked as it was softer than other pad see ew I had. 2) Service was good. Our server was attentive. 3) Ambiance of the restaurant was very lively. Checked in with my family and as soon as we got their the restaurant had a lot of space and the wait time wasn't bad. Thank goodness for reserving. We experienced the sit down and not the hibachi and must say decent experience. Had their oreo creme brulee bubble tea, spicy salmon roll, and godzilla roll and it was decent portions and delicious. The atmosphere was modern to asian and love ghe separation with the oriental style walls and bonzai and cherry blossom trees. Service is as expected and could've been more better especially as it got busier. Waited a few minutes to get drinks, chopstick helpers. It took over an hour to get food that was overcooked, and that had been sitting underneath a heat lamp for quite a while. Alright! We went back for the second time, and it just gets better and better! This time I had a peartini then a lychee martini both freaking amazing. Really wanted to try this place since the sign first went up ages ago. Tried the hibachi. The room smelled like cleaning solution. The food was disgustingly salty, over sauced, and swimming in butter. The chicken was cut into teeny chunks that were so overcooked that all the yum yum sauce in the world couldn't rehydrate it. The salad was a soup of dressing. Everything shared the same sad hue of brown from being sauced beyond recognition. I was very hopeful, but ended up being one or the worst meals I have had in a long time. I can see bringing the kiddos here for a birthday party as they may find it entertaining but I will not be returning here again. This isn't a tip, although I understand a portion does go to the server. I think this is a bad policy, and It might well be enough to keep me from coming back. The menu selection is pretty broad, and includes Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes. They also feature hibachi cooking, which I did not try. I ordered a shu mai appetizer which, it seems, could have been dumped out of a pre-packaged bag and steamed. Not worth the eight bucks they charged (plus the eighteen percent). My main was a Penang curry, which was pretty good, but it was very mild, considering my request that they prepare it spicy. read more

This is a fantastic new restaurant in Kildeer Illinois. It is housed in the former Fresh Market space in a strip mall. Wow. I was blown away away by the ambiance. It is absolutely beautiful. The restaurant offers Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Asian and Hibachi. I ordered Mongolian beef served with egg drop soup and I upgraded from steamed rice to fried rice for a few dollars more. Our server was Fahry who was wonderful. My friend ordered Steak Udon noodle soup and said it was the best she ever had. I enjoyed it so very much that I am returning just a couple of days later. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants with Cherry Blossom trees, lemon trees and beautiful carvings . I recently went to this place with my mom because it opened up just this year. Wu's house is pretty big. They have two options when you enter either just a regular dinner or the hibachi style. They seat about 16 people at one table, but there's two grills on both sides for the hibachi. Definitely gets a little bit crowded and if you don't like sitting with other people, I wouldn't recommend coming here. The show was really fun, but I did feel that the food could be a little bit better. Also, for every sauce, there was an add-on fee, so if you wanted garlic sauce or anything you had to pay more. You are paying a good amount for this, but you do get a lot of food. The tip is already included in the bill, so you don't have to bring cash to tip the cook but you can if you would like too. Came here for my brothers birthday on Wednesday night and we had a BLAST! Our hibachi chef Ryan was so goofy and made sure we were eating good! The salad and soup were perfect and I wish I had 4 more cups of the soup. All of our food was perfectly seasoned and so delicious our portion sizes were HUGE which was great for the price. I will say it is very loud in the hibachi room with all the singing for birthdays and banging on the table/ drum so keep that in mind if you dislike loud noises, BUT if you sit in the booths near the front it is more quiet! We also got icecream and a free cheesecake for my brother. We were so full and have leftovers for tomorrow. There is a 18% service fee for all dine in orders to keep a heads up, so we tipped an extra 2% because we liked our chef so much! I don't understand the other bad reviews, but maybe it depends on the chef you get, hibachi chef RYAN was excellent at his job so hopefully you get him when you visit! read more

The salmon made here felt as if it literally melted in my mouth, genuinely outstanding. Ebi was our absolute entertainer that night. He was an outstanding worker, and trust me the sake squirts will be shot into your mouth until you personally say you're done, I'm not a big drinker but even I had to partake and it was delicious. He made the food almost an afterthought while making it magic, I got smacked in the head with a piece of broccoli when he launched it but that's my mistake. I'm an avid knife collector and seeing him spin his around his hand with precision was amazing, telling me it only took two weeks of practice which must've been a STEADY two weeks. Singing songs along with it, if he made a mistake that night I wouldn't be able to tell you what it was. I get the table being spaced as a U can be seen as bad for many, but it wasn't for me at all. We walked in seeing the tables and assumed it'd be sort of funky but I found myself talking to a bunch of people I never have before and that's a personal favorite of mine. Conversing, eating, and even having drinks with a few strangers and feeling as if I left making friends with people who I'd never met before and probably won't see again. They learned my birthday was on the 17th of February from my friend so more than two to three weeks beforehand and still sent over free cheesecake with a happy birthday song in their native language which I appreciate heavily. On top of it? I get a nice bear shaped light up cup with a metal lid to bring home for my mom who's a Grateful Dead fan and it was a dollar, didn't even come with the drink I picked but they didn't hesitate. All in all, I highly recommend it. Cheaper and by far I've never had an experience as good as this one in any place LIKE Benihana. The food was melt in my mouth delicious and if you're a drinker? You'll get a rum and coke that's 80% rum with sake squirts to go around which was also delicious.
