We've enjoyed coming here for years, but it is concerning, especially for a sushi restaurant. What happened? We returned to sushi heaven after many years of hiatus. The restaurant is doing much better from what we remembered. Everything was pretty tasty, fresh and well made. We enjoyed the Toro sashimi, kama, tempura and sweet shrimp nigiri. Our waitress Annie was very sweet, helpful and efficient. Our five year old twins love sushi. This spot is walking distance from our home so on a Sunday night after I taught swimming for 9 years my husband and I decided to try it ( with the twins of course). The place was full but not packed we were greeted and seated immediately. The menu is huge and everything looked delicious. The boys ordered lemonade and I got a glass of wine ( highly recommend getting a glass of wine they have a very generous pour) my husband had ice tea. The drinks came fast which is always a bonus with kids. We ordered food and that came super fast too! The twins got chicken teriyaki dinner and a red dragon roll. They devoured their food. I ordered two rolls and was able to eat maybe 3 or 4 pieces before the twins finished my sushi off. It was delicious the waitress was so nice and amazing with the boys. The following Sunday we decided to go back again and this time the place was packed it was alive with noise and laughter even so we were seated immediately and the waitress remembered us! She even knew the boys names. It was at that moment I decided that this place was going to be our spot. You can tell they totally care about their customers and take so pride in their food. I'm so surprised I haven't reviewed this place as I've gone to this restaurant since I was a kid (15+ years). This restaurant serves amazing sashimi with large and well-cut pieces. The combination of sushi pieces are also well done and very flavorful. I enjoy the titanic roll! Service of the place is great! The people is very sweet and helpful! Growing up in Saratoga, there weren't many casual asian dining places nearby and Sushi Heaven has always been a staple restaurant for my family for weekend night out dinners. Sushi Heaven is not traditional Japanese, and has a variety of rolls that are fun to choose from and also has great bento boxes. They also reasonably price Toro and if you're lucky, you get decent cuts. They take reservations and are busy during dinner times so call ahead or there is a waiting list. read more
