Our whole extended family loved this place for years and the location is so convenient. Unfortunately, what used to be decent all-you-can-eat sushi become fair quality and now several of us have been served sushi that tastes like it is old, pre-made and refrigerated, soggy, tough and chewy shrimp and over stuffed with rice while skimping on other ingredients. If I could give this place 0 Stars I would. Some co-workers and I decided to go to Sushi House for lunch. I am not a large fan of sushi but I do like other oriental food items like rice, noodles, pot stickers, chicken plates, etc. Two co-workers ordered Sushi and another co-worker and I ordered the Kids meal with Teriyaki Chicken and Rice. They brought us our food after a longer wait than expected because of the small amount of people eating lunch there. The chicken from the kids meal tasted and looked nothing like chicken. It was extremely crunchy some pieces were extra skinny to the point where I thought I was eating an actual chicken claw. The rice was over-cooked to a ball of rice and was cold. We both refused to eat our kids meals. We asked the manager what we were eating, she informed it was a chicken leg and the frying process (eww.. This chicken "leg" was not anywhere near tender.) I ordered the Pot Sticker Appetizer with the manager since she was not going to get us another meal that was edible. The pot stickers were fine nothing special. When it came to paying the manager rung us up and of course made us pay for the terrible kids meal and pot stickers without giving a discount or even saying I'm sorry. If I could give a worse rating than one star I would. The service was terrible, the food was terrible, could not have had a more horrible experience. First they took forever to bring the rolls over and then they forgot to bring half our order. They waited for us to say some thing after an hour of waiting for the rest of our rolls and then told us they "were closed" even though they were the ones that forgot our rolls in the first place! So they begrudgingly agreed to make us the rolls after we had to persuade them and then brought over the grossest looking sushi I have ever seen. Half the ingredients were missing and two of the rolls were the wrong ones. I will never come back here again. A waste of two hours of my life and 20 dollars out of my pocket. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I came here saturday night and after witnessing the treatment of an employee by their manager, I will not be coming back unless that manager is gone. The manager, haley I believe was her name, was very disrespectful and unprofessional. She yelled at the employee in front of the entire restaurant and from what I heard it was because the girl checked her tips. I overheard the girl tell the manager that the reason she checked her tips was because that manager had put her tips into another employees checkbook multiple times. If the manager cannot even handle putting the employees tips in the right place she certainly shoud not be running the restaurant, especially if she yells at her employees for her own mistakes. She continued to yell at the girl until the girl started crying. And even then the manager did not stop yelling. She yelled at the other employees in chinese. She was so disruptive I left. She ruined that entire meal. She was also the cashier when I payed and was very rude and abrupt. Other than that manager(haley) everything else was fine. The food was nothing spectacular but it was better than average. And our waitress was very attentive and took good care of me. Even after the ordeal she was still a good waitress and was polite even when she was stil crying when she checked on me afterwards. We tried out this sushi place based on some of the positive reviews on Yelp. I feel like I experienced a completely different restaurant than other reviewers. This was the most overpriced nasty sushi I remember paying for. It tasted like supermarket sushi. We had to force the rolls down that were brought out so we weren't charged for not finishing. The place didn't seem as busy as Sushi-ya tends to be, though I don't know why - neither is all that reputable, though Sushi-ya does maintain a much more Asian (looking) staff. The service was average. I had an empty water glass for most of the night, though they did fill it up several times at the beginning (due to some unrelated complications we were there for a while, as different members of our party were late). They were prompt in providing us with menus and the sushi didn't take long to arrive. I might go back, but I'm not any more inclined to return to Sushi-ya than I am to Sushi House (I may have given Sushi-ya a higher ranking, but I was likely a little more interested in sushi in general then). After reading through the reviews, we thought we had a 50/50 chance of eating decent sushi. However, most of the negative reviews were correct. The rice is mushy and the sushi is covered, totally drenched, in sauces. My husband is allergic to fish, so we usually go for the veggie or shrimp type sushi. Having said we avoided raw fish, it was surprising that about half an hour after eating we both experienced horrible stomach pains. Let's just say we became friends with the bathroom. I LOVE Sushi House. They have quickly become my favorite place for sushi - they have a huge range of rolls with lots of amazing and unique options. They always have great service, although it can be very busy there (they're popular!). It was good but that is it. The biggest downside to this place is that anyone over the age of 8 is charged an adult price for all you can eat sushi.
