I've been here before. A few times actually. It's a really convenient meeting place for friends coming from salt lake and meeting friends closer to Provo. I walked in at 11:30 a.m. and the first thing I noticed was a handwritten sign on the door that said if you have any complaints text this number or email this address. I thought that was a little strange but honestly I should have taken it as a warning. The people were polite and the environment is fine. I ordered off of the lunch menu and my friend ordered off the dinner menu. It did take a while for the sushi to come out. I got the crystal shrimp roll, The gold's gym roll, some sort of spicy tuna roll, and something else. There's a sign on the table that says if you don't eat all of your food, or more specifically, if you leave more than one roll worth of food you'll be charged for that roll. of course I wasn't about to let that happen and I was very hungry because I haven't eaten since yesterday. When our sushi finally came out it looked okay. The dinner rolls looked a lot better than the lunch rolls for sure. The presentation of the dinner rolls was much nicer and higher quality. I started eating my individual bites and my friend started eating his. Our appetite slowed quickly as this was some of the worst sushi I have had in a long time. I've had Harmon sushi from their salad bar and that is several times better than this. Now I'm not a sushi snob, but I do know a good sushi is supposed to taste like. By the end of my meal, which seemed to last an eternity, I was choking down the last few bites just to get the quantity of bites below the remaining one roll penalty amount. I said to my friend that this was some of the worst sushi I've had in a while and he agreed. He said that in the past this place was actually pretty good and I would have to agree with that as well. I don't know if something is impacting the quality of this restaurant or if the management is new, but when we saw two twenty something year old men walk in towards the end of our meal, I asked my friend if we should warn them. I'm not sure if it's all the new places popping up that are really showing the poor quality of this place, or If it's just really gotten that bad. There's too much of it in comparison to the amount of fish. The fish itself is not very fresh and of low quality. We went for dinner and had the all-you-can-eat. The sushi is incredible it's filled with flavor but the service is quite possibly the worst service I've ever experienced. They have one waiter for all the tables. The drinks taste terrible and surprisingly the water is the best drink. The waiter is barely understandable and I'm not saying that with malicious or racist intent but I feel guilty not being able to understand her and having to say "sorry what?" 10 times. I was there for 50 minutes and only had one round. They messed up someone's order 4 times. Come on now, that's ridiculous, you can't be making that many mistakes when you already have dozens of people waiting for their food. They also have no internet so don't plan on watching YouTube while you wait 2 hours for your 8 rolls of sushi. They need to invest into getting more waiters and limit their capacity because the place was nearly full with people and with this pandemic it is extremely unsafe. When we got there it was 340 still lunch prices so I asked the guy is it still lunch or dinner he told me it was still lunch. The sushi I got was OK but we had to keep flagging down the waitress to get more order menus. One person got the teriyaki chicken but it was old and tasted burnt. Now I won't be going back there to get my free drink but I might save someone from making the same mistake I did. I had 2 rolls (playboy and sunset) both were disgusting. Becca my gf had a rainbow, it was equally as horrid as mine. What made the rolls gross was the fact they were served at room temp. After I dropped $38 on 3 rolls I left and 2 hours later I had the pleasure of enjoying my meal again!! This time it actually tasted better the second time!! So if you enjoy room temp not fresh sushi that's WAY overpriced for what you get then you will love this place!! We wanted this place to be good. It wasn't. Everything is glazed in unagi sauce so all the rolls in our first order ended up tasting the same. Rolls were packed with tons of rice. Rice was mushy and undesirable. We told the chef, no more unagi and he gladly accommodate, so thumbs up for the guy for making our experience slightly less unpleasant. The fish is a bit fresher than other AYCE places, but they come in small thin pieces. Nigiris came with 1:10 fish to rice proportion (I kid you not). There were a couple of rolls that were decent (the Rock 'n Roll & Sun Set, without unagi sauce) but the rest were pretty meh. More than half of the rolls come with "krab" so we tried our best to avoid those. 2 of us ordered 7 or 8 rolls and a handful different variations of nigiris. Their rolls are not as well executed as Sushi-Ya in comparison, with almost twice the rice, for the same price. I generally would not go to Sushi-Ya if it was up to me, but I would over this place. How am I just now writing a review for this place? This has been my go-to sushi spot in Utah County for a long time now and I've been raving about it to everyone I know. At least I was until now. I've only ever been to Sushi House for all-you-can-eat at dinner time. The rolls were always fantastic--the fish fresh and cold, the rice perfectly cooked and prepared. The variety of rolls was impressive and there was something for every palate whether you love it raw or don't venture past a California Roll. This still all may be true for the dinner rolls, but one a recent visit for lunch, I was SERIOUSLY disappointed. The rice was soggy, overly sticky and gooey which is the make or break of all good sushi. The seaweed was also soggy and chewy, like they had been prepared hours ago and were waiting for us when we arrived. The fish was oddly warm and not very fresh tasting. The rolls that had eel sauce on them came DRENCHED in the stuff. Too much of a good thing. I was devastated and saddened that my favorite sushi joint had fallen on it's proverbial sword and let me down. I'll be going back for dinner to see if it's what it's always been, but based on my admittedly limited experience with the lunch menu, I'll not be recommending anyone go by for lunch. read more

Love to eat at Sushi House in American Fork, UT. They have "All You Can Eat" sushi at lunch and dinner. We go from work about once a week and are totally addicted. I personally LOVE the hand rolls. I order Spicy Salmon as a hand roll and I swear it is the best sushi I have ever had. But there are so many great rolls such as the Godzilla, Funky, and Rainbow. Most rolls can be made as regular or hand rolls. They also have Nigiri as part of the all you can eat. Gluten Free soy sauce is available upon request. Gluten Free people can order rolls that aren't fried and that don't have crunch. They have tables, booths, and a bar. read more
