Volcano roll

Sushi king was awesome and I don't even like sushi. My husband loved all the rolls he got. I really liked the chicken fried rice and the crab rangoons. I could've eaten 100 of those crab rangoons. My 2 year old even ate all of his nuggets off the kids menu. Food comes out quick and hot. Will be back soon!

I was very disappointed to learn that this restaurant charges children adult prices if they are taller than 54 inches. Height doesn't equal age or appetite, and it feels unfair to ask a 8 - or 9 - year old to pay the same price as a full grown adult because they're tall. The food was okay, but the pricing policy (based solely on principle) really overshadowed this visit. Families should feel welcomed, not penalized for their kids' growth. To make matters worse, the manager even declined to come to our table. I had my child's school ID with picture. Hopefully management reconsiders this practice and takes some training in customer service - that type of dismissive attitude is unacceptable in hospitality.

I wanted to like this place but would not return. We ordered to-go shortly before closing. The man who took our sushi order was very friendly and helpful, and our order was ready quickly. I expected the rolls to still be fresh, however. Upon getting home (2 minutes away) and situated at the table to eat, I opened my container and began to take quick photos (for Yelp) of my rolls before digging in. To my surprise, there was a long strand of (grey or blonde) hair lying on one of the rolls. We attempted to call the restaurant to let them know but no one answered. There are different closing hours listed online (10p and 10:30p).

I have been eating at this locations Sushi King for over 10yrs now and this restaurant (this location only) has remained one of the best AYCE sushi's restaurants I have been too. The quality, variety, staff, and everything in between is great and remains consistent which is very refreshing. Appetizers here are super hot and fresh and the salads are cold and pepper tuna (dinner item) and yellowtail jalapeño slices (dinner item) are always savory and flavorful. The sushi is just incredibly fresh every single time I've eaten here and the rolls are beautiful and fresh looking and tasting. My kids love the fried and chicken nuggets they serve as well as the noodles. I've never had a waiter or waitress be rude or impolite and the sushi makers are always smiling when you walk by the sushi rolling area. The desserts that are included are the best way to end a sushi lunch or supper. Light, frozen, and refreshing, and love that they still have dessert included in the price. The price of eating here has remained very reasonable! They have kept the prices one of the best in town, and for the quality and service, you receive, it's a great experience altogether! I hope to be able to keep enjoying lots of meals here with friends and family, give it a try!!!

Cool spot in the staff was super friendly. The food was decent but very good for the price. Lots of room and very nice spot.

For an all you can eat sushi spot, this one is one of the best in the area. The appetizers are top notch, their avocado salad is always fresh and delicious. My family and I come here probably 2-3 times a month.

I came here only because a dear friend's husband passed and his funeral was nearby, so unfortunately this was the designated meeting spot for lunch. Oh, where do I begin? So first of all, it's a party of fifteen but it's not even anywhere near crowded... but we still get stuck in the back of the restaurant. My one star is for the waitress, who was nice enough but a little clueless. Because I'm back on keto, there's almost nothing for me to eat here. When I asked the waitress if they could make any sushi into sashimi, she just looked at me blankly and said "oh, no, we don't do that". What?! I mean, how hard is it to serve plain pieces of fish? They don't have an overwhelming amount of selection and the portions are so tiny, my friends that actually did order them only got two tiny pieces of whatever appetizers they ordered. I attempted to get some clear soup from the "buffet" table, but it was disgustingly cold and almost inedible. And I'm not complaining because I didn't have to pay, but for $17 a person, it's just not worth the money.

An assortment of roll. I think the middle one is the Va. Beach roll.

Ok, so I did not conduct any due diligence before visiting Sushi King. After sitting at our table, we realized that Sushi King is an all-you-can-eat sushi spot. I was thinking that we would grab a couple of rolls for lunch and bounce. Had I known we were going to an AYCE spot, I would have skipped breakfast so I could have stuffed a couple more rolls down my gullet. Also, I was surprised that the AYCE menu included appetizers and specialty rolls for the $22.99 price. Overall, I thought the quality of the sushi was pretty decent. While it was not the best sushi experience, it is pretty up there, especially for the price. Even with the AYCE deal, Sushi King has a wide array of menu items so even folks who do not like sushi can find several things to eat. Our waitress, Gabby, was pretty on point. She always seemed to drop by the table right as we were finishing up our rolls. Honestly, I do not think that we had to wait more than 2 minutes for her to take the order for our next round of sushi. Overall, the place is pretty clean and did not smell fishy so you should not have any GI issues regarding this too good to be true deal. I hope to return in the near future.

Saint's Roll

This is one of the ACYE sushi place when you think of VA beach. We have been here couple of times and the food has been decent. Today we were here for the lunch, the service was good. We ordered couple of appetizers (note that appetizer is limited like elsewhere). Gyoza was not gyoza they were deep fried dumplings, veg tempura not crispy at all and Spring roll had no meat at all. Don't bother ordering Gyoza, spring roll and veg tempura at all. The signature roll were good but not the best. However, the Saint's roll and Virginia beach roll that our server recommended very pretty good. Beside that, they don't have salad bar but they still have the soup and ice cream station. It was a decent place but the sushi could have been better.

All were great I can't remember all the names The 2 frm the top is Virginia Beach roll The bottom is Christmas roll All were delicious

This place was great we did the AYCE deal which was pretty good. This is the first ayce sushi spot I've found in the east coast. And the selection was pretty big. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Virginia Beach. We ordered from the appetizers and the sushi rolls They even gave us ice cream at the end We went on a Monday afternoon so it was pretty empty our server was great. The place was very big I'm sure they get super busy on the weekends. We didn't consume alcohol but they did have a selection. Overall great place

Daniel our server was great. I enjoyed my nicely chilled plum wine. An establishment is always inviting when you are greeted upon entering ams exiting by the owner. Great visit today.

My husband and I live in the neighborhood and love sushi! My husband always gravitates towards AYCE sushi places and this one is a winner in his book. I think the sushi is decent but, it's not the best thing in the entire universe and that's ok! This place is definitely a go-to when we need a sushi fix.

So I recently went to Daikichi Sushi. I hadn't been there since a few years ago and honestly back…read morethen, went there looking for great ramen. I wasn't impressed and didn't return. So I went back for their sushi as it felt unfair to rate them on ramen when their specialty was sushi. There are very few sushi places actually owned and run by Japanese outside of big cities, people rave about this place, and I'm all for supporting them. I did order the ramen again hoping it changed. It was ok, but I resigned it is not the place for ramen. However, I will say their sushi and other appetizers are great, no lie. But my recent visit left a bad taste despite their great food. When we arrived, about 6pm, the waitress told me and my teenage daughter, "only the bar was available". There were 2 4-person tables that could be separated for a table for 2. And I noticed 2 couples already there sitting at 4 person tables. So I asked the waitress why are they seated at the tables? She said they arrived earlier and now they need to keep the tables open Ok, I get that, even though they only opened an hour ago. It's Saturday night, so I'll go with that. Well, shortly after putting in our order at the bar, I see them seat 2 people at one of the 4-person tables. And then shortly after that, they separated the other 4 seater into 2 tables and sat 2 more couples that arrived at each table. Now, I'm raising an eyebrow. I didn't say anything but before I left, I said to the waitress, I couldn't help but notice there were several couples seated at tables after us. She said oh, that couple knows the owner, referring to the first couple seated at a 4 person table (they didn't even separate the table). Ok I figured that when the owner gave a loud and enthusiastic good bye to them and the diner looked Japanese. I replied to the waitress, but then you all seated 2 more couples and pulled the table apart to accommodate them. She replied that the boss ordered them to separate the tables but he rarely does. I replied that we had arrived well before any of those 3 couples and were told we couldn't sit at the table. She just shrugged as if to say she was just following the boss' order. I left the usual 20% tip because I know the waitress didn't make the decision and she gave great service and the sushi was great. However, that said, the blatant preference of other customers felt insulting and left a super disappointing taste in my mouth. And no, they were not all Japanese. Just that one diner. The owner clearly picked and chose to not give us a table, for whatever biased reason. I could understand if I were alone or my daughter was 8, but she looks clearly like an adult. It just really sat wrong with me and left me upset enough that I question returning. It's very unfortunate that an otherwise great experience was marred by this blatant refusal to seat my daughter and I at a table, only to have salt rubbed into the wound by seating numerous couples that followed at a table, by separating the tables. They didn't even offer to seat us at the traditional tables, all of which were empty at the time we arrived. To me, the authentic Japanese sushi was not worth the insulting unexplained preference to seat other customers after us at a table. PS: the only sushi roll I didn't like was the real crab California roll. The real crab was grey and cold and tasted so fishy, I asked to make sure it was cooked real crab and not raw. (They said it was cooked). I guess I was expecting real Alaska crab white crab and it was not this at all.

But what sets this place apart are the low tables where you fit on padded floor cushions on wooden backs. They even provide slippers for you to dog on the platform that's lined with sisal mat. To the far end is a rock garden. Very zen indeed. I was seated by the sushi bar. I had green tea. Waiting for my order of ramen with spicy miso. The umami orbits broth was great. I wish it had more crunch to it than just the kimchi. Also the pork was slightly cold, they didn't warm up to temp with the broth.

I am torn on this rating…read more Service= 4+ stars: Waiter and chef were friendly, attentive and personable. The hostess did not greet myself or my party as we entered and took a seat in the waiting area. It took about 8 min for all to arrive but a basic "welcome, let me know when you're ready to be seated" would have been nice. Atmosphere= 2 stars The decor is old and worn which I could overlook if it wasn't filthy. The bathroom was generally didn't and gross. Dirt, water, and maybe mildew on the sink counters. Carpeted Floors throughout the restaurant were unclean and sticky in places. 2 chairs at our hibachi table had food and liquid pooled on them. The restaurant was not busy and at no time during the visit did I see any employee clean. Food= 3+stars My party of 6 ordered a variety of hibachi including veggie, chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops and lobster. All the proteins were enjoyed. The veggies were decent. Appetizers were yummy and we enjoyed our sushi roll. The fried rice was overly salty/too much soy sauce for my preference but still edible. Yum-Yum sauce was weirdly over sweet. Overall, my guys enjoyed their food. I definitely wouldn't come for a special occasion but maybe it's ok for a random meal for guys in their 20's? Lol
