    Appetizers!!!!
    Annamarie M.

I have been eating at this locations Sushi King for over 10yrs now and this restaurant (this location only) has remained one of the best AYCE sushi's restaurants I have been too. The quality, variety, staff, and everything in between is great and remains consistent which is very refreshing. Appetizers here are super hot and fresh and the salads are cold and pepper tuna (dinner item) and yellowtail jalapeño slices (dinner item) are always savory and flavorful. The sushi is just incredibly fresh every single time I've eaten here and the rolls are beautiful and fresh looking and tasting. My kids love the fried and chicken nuggets they serve as well as the noodles. I've never had a waiter or waitress be rude or impolite and the sushi makers are always smiling when you walk by the sushi rolling area. The desserts that are included are the best way to end a sushi lunch or supper. Light, frozen, and refreshing, and love that they still have dessert included in the price. The price of eating here has remained very reasonable! They have kept the prices one of the best in town, and for the quality and service, you receive, it's a great experience altogether! I hope to be able to keep enjoying lots of meals here with friends and family, give it a try!!!

I was very disappointed to learn that this restaurant charges children adult prices if they are taller than 54 inches. Height doesn't equal age or appetite, and it feels unfair to ask a 8 - or 9 - year old to pay the same price as a full grown adult because they're tall. The food was okay, but the pricing policy (based solely on principle) really overshadowed this visit. Families should feel welcomed, not penalized for their kids' growth. To make matters worse, the manager even declined to come to our table. I had my child's school ID with picture. Hopefully management reconsiders this practice and takes some training in customer service - that type of dismissive attitude is unacceptable in hospitality.

Sushi king was awesome and I don't even like sushi. My husband loved all the rolls he got. I really liked the chicken fried rice and the crab rangoons. I could've eaten 100 of those crab rangoons. My 2 year old even ate all of his nuggets off the kids menu. Food comes out quick and hot. Will be back soon!

Cool spot in the staff was super friendly. The food was decent but very good for the price. Lots of room and very nice spot.

For an all you can eat sushi spot, this one is one of the best in the area. The appetizers are top notch, their avocado salad is always fresh and delicious. My family and I come here probably 2-3 times a month.

I came here only because a dear friend's husband passed and his funeral was nearby, so unfortunately this was the designated meeting spot for lunch. Oh, where do I begin? So first of all, it's a party of fifteen but it's not even anywhere near crowded... but we still get stuck in the back of the restaurant. My one star is for the waitress, who was nice enough but a little clueless. Because I'm back on keto, there's almost nothing for me to eat here. When I asked the waitress if they could make any sushi into sashimi, she just looked at me blankly and said "oh, no, we don't do that". What?! I mean, how hard is it to serve plain pieces of fish? They don't have an overwhelming amount of selection and the portions are so tiny, my friends that actually did order them only got two tiny pieces of whatever appetizers they ordered. I attempted to get some clear soup from the "buffet" table, but it was disgustingly cold and almost inedible. And I'm not complaining because I didn't have to pay, but for $17 a person, it's just not worth the money.

Ok, so I did not conduct any due diligence before visiting Sushi King. After sitting at our table, we realized that Sushi King is an all-you-can-eat sushi spot. I was thinking that we would grab a couple of rolls for lunch and bounce. Had I known we were going to an AYCE spot, I would have skipped breakfast so I could have stuffed a couple more rolls down my gullet. Also, I was surprised that the AYCE menu included appetizers and specialty rolls for the $22.99 price. Overall, I thought the quality of the sushi was pretty decent. While it was not the best sushi experience, it is pretty up there, especially for the price. Even with the AYCE deal, Sushi King has a wide array of menu items so even folks who do not like sushi can find several things to eat. Our waitress, Gabby, was pretty on point. She always seemed to drop by the table right as we were finishing up our rolls. Honestly, I do not think that we had to wait more than 2 minutes for her to take the order for our next round of sushi. Overall, the place is pretty clean and did not smell fishy so you should not have any GI issues regarding this too good to be true deal. I hope to return in the near future.

This is one of the ACYE sushi place when you think of VA beach. We have been here couple of times and the food has been decent. Today we were here for the lunch, the service was good. We ordered couple of appetizers (note that appetizer is limited like elsewhere). Gyoza was not gyoza they were deep fried dumplings, veg tempura not crispy at all and Spring roll had no meat at all. Don't bother ordering Gyoza, spring roll and veg tempura at all. The signature roll were good but not the best. However, the Saint's roll and Virginia beach roll that our server recommended very pretty good. Beside that, they don't have salad bar but they still have the soup and ice cream station. It was a decent place but the sushi could have been better.

This is strictly AYCE... the entire menu is part of ayce. The rolls have a bit too much rice and they only offer a couple options with no rice. They don't have too much variety and they lack toppings on the rolls that normally would have them. It wasn't worth paying regular price for a child who they said was 54"- he's not quite that tall yet but he's close to it but they didn't care, they said he had to pay full price. They offer a "self-serve" soup station for Miso- regular and clear broth, with the tofu and scallions on the side. They also have self-serve freezers with a few options of popsicles/ice cream for dessert.

My brother came here frequently to get full for cheap, but his wife warned us it wouldn't be good. We came for lunch, and she just sat there to watch us eat. Came here knowing it would be quantity over quality, but dang... even with expectations low, I was still let down. My favorite part of the meal was the ice cream at the end, and they don't make the ice cream there lol. I also liked the appetizers, but the sushi was terrible. They charge for food waste, but it would have been worse trying to stomach the food instead of wasting it. Crab bites. 4 outta 5 Edamame. Extremely salty but perfectly cooked otherwise. I just couldn't eat the whole thing because they were covered in so much damn salt. 2 outta 5 Steak hibachi. Very overcooked, but the veggies were good. 2 outta 5 Fried rice. Flavorless. Not even seasoned. 1 outta 5 Gyoza. 3 outta 5 Vegetable tempura. Sweet potato and broccoli weren't cooked. Batter had no seasoning. 3 outta 5 since I liked the onion and zucchini Dynamite roll. 4 outta 5 Spicy tuna. 1 outta 5 Sea angel. Way too much Mayo inside and outside. Basically a Mayo roll. 2 outta 5 Orchard. 3 outta 5 Salmon. 2 outta 5 Masago. Usually my favorite everywhere, but this Masago was disgusting. Kind of tasted like cleaning chemicals. 0 outta 5. Spider roll. 2 outta 5 Tuna. 3 outta 5 Escolar. 4 outta 5 Crazy monkey. 2 outta 5 Shrimp tempura roll. 1 outta 5 Would NOT recommend even for the price. Would NOT come back. My brother also said it was way better before Covid

All were great I can't remember all the names The 2 frm the top is Virginia Beach roll The bottom is Christmas roll All were delicious

This place was great we did the AYCE deal which was pretty good. This is the first ayce sushi spot I've found in the east coast. And the selection was pretty big. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Virginia Beach. We ordered from the appetizers and the sushi rolls They even gave us ice cream at the end We went on a Monday afternoon so it was pretty empty our server was great. The place was very big I'm sure they get super busy on the weekends. We didn't consume alcohol but they did have a selection. Overall great place

The dining area inside is small, but it can still accommodate maybe one big group. There's also outdoor seating available. We came for an early dinner on a weekday, and it started getting busy pretty quickly. They were able to accommodate our large party inside since we had little kids with us, though we did have to split into two tables. I ordered the spicy umami miso ramen with tofu, karaage, and a soft-boiled egg, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. It's a hidden gem tucked into a shopping center and easy to miss from the main road, but there's plenty of parking and once you're inside it's much more spacious than it looks. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and everything came out fresh. Prices were very reasonable too, especially for the portion sizes and quality. There's also a wide menu beyond ramen, so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more. Before leaving, I grabbed a brown sugar boba milk tea too. We decided to give Saruki Japanese Hibachi a try on a weeknight and were seated after only about a five-minute wait. One thing we really enjoyed was having the hibachi table to ourselves. Unlike many hibachi experiences where you're seated with other parties, it was just my family, which made for a more relaxed dinner. Our chef was entertaining without being over the top, and the cooking was done well. The steak and scallops were both cooked perfectly, which we appreciated. The meal came with the standard vegetables, although we noticed there were no bean sprouts, which are common at many hibachi restaurants in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We also missed the traditional dipping sauces that usually accompany hibachi meals. Instead, we were served a mayo-based sauce that wasn't really to our taste. The staff was happy to provide Sriracha when requested, which helped. Service was decent, and the food was good overall. However, with restaurant prices being what they are today, the experience didn't quite stand out enough for us to make a return visit. It wasn't a bad meal by any means--just one that ultimately felt a bit forgettable. This version comes across as fair and constructive while still explaining why you likely won't be back.
