Seeing that they both were closed on Monday's (should've checked first) we saw this place right next to Kin Thai where Moes used to be and thought we'd give it a try. I can't tell you the name of the sushi she recommended but it was delicious. She also brought us small samples of another one that she wanted us to try. It was smaller, like shumai but good as well. The salmon was cooked great, where it was a little crispy on the edges but tender and flavored well. The dish also had plenty of shrimp, unlike some other places. Don't let the large bowl fool you, the portion nice dinner size. They also have an unlimited sushi option for $28 I believe, that we'll try next time. Food was really good. We got the all you can eat. I liked the hibachi shrimp and the sauces. I'm not a huge fan of rolls but their's was fresh and tasty. Saki was good. Service was top notch. We had reservations and still waited an hour , so take that into consideration if you're starved. Worth the wait if you're a sushi fan. I hate writing bad reviews but here goes. I ordered a rainbow roll and one of the topper fish was very fishy. I asked the waitress if it was fresh. She didn't know She said she tasted it and agreed it had a "fishy taste". She did not offer any options to correct this. Also they served us warm green tea, I asked if they could serve it hotter which they did but again no offer to compensate or apology. What topped it off for me is they then charged us a fee for using our credit card We had soup, sushi ,hibachi drinks snd deserts No offer to comp or replace any of the items even though they agreed it was subpar. My husband had Hibachi Chicken & Steak entree with salad. I had two sushi rolls: Sweet Potato 3C (crab, cucumber, cream cheese) This sweet potato is tempura battered & fried inside rice roll. Superb! The ambiance of the restaurant was really good and the servers were authentic for a sushi restaurant. I ordered the 20 piece sashimi sampler. And it's exactly what I got, just samples of fish. I have great respect for the sushi chef who cut my sashimi it was so perfectly thin cut I doubt any kind of high-priced machine slicer could have done the job that he did. Honestly we went here as a second option because of abysmal we were treated at a nearby competitor. I had never been there before. But wow what a great choice. The all you can eat option includes a number of options. The food is fresh, made to order. Squid salad great, rolls were large and tasty. Oh! Dropped by for some lunch today here after hearing about this place off of Facebook. Glad we did! We opted for the All You Can Eat which included Apps, Soups, Salads, Hibachi, Sushi and desserts. All just $29. The sushi is super fresh and the pieces are a great size too. Fair warning, make sure to eat everything you have on the plate. If you don't, you are charged $1 per piece of sushi you have left. We didn't have this issue. It's a great idea though to help eliminate waste. I actually went to get takeout from a neighboring restaurant when I noticed Sushi Kingdom was open and had replaced the Moe's. I popped in just to grab a menu but the staff was so friendly that I ordered a few sushi rolls. I don't eat meat so I ordered the Mango, Avocado, cucumber roll and the sweet potato roll. Both were prepared fresh and were so delicious that I forgot to take a picture. Definitely will come back. I ordered and asked for eel sauce and spicy mayo...None was on my sushi or on the side but I had to pay for it. Anyone that likes eel sauce and spicy mayo knows that it makes the roll much better. The menu was a bit odd, in that many items indicated some sort of fixation on sex, but the food was good enough to ignore, or just laugh while rolling the eyes, at the inuendos. Let's begin with the service. Quick and quicker than Mitzumi on State street. Both offer all you can eat and both ate delicious. Sushi Kingdom didn't allow our food time to settle before they were checking and bring another sheet. Our server was friendly. Mitzumi is slow like a sloth. The sushi is prepared fresh and sliced and rolled to perfection. You must try the Japanese chicken appetizer.. it's just tiny bite size chicken. But it's seasoned so well you don't even need the sweet chili sauce. I think they have been in operation at the Palladium shopping center for a little over a year. The ambiance is simple with a few nods to Asian culture. The one decoration that stood out to me was the curtain that leads to the restroom. The back side was so dusty I didn't want ro touch it after washing my hands. We will be back as long as the price doesn't sky rocket. Sushi Kingdom is a welcome addition to the Triad restaurant scene! I've been twice now and both visits were very satisfying. The decor is somewhat spartan but clean and pleasant--in between my first and second visits they added some knick knacks to spruce it up. The à la carte menu appears to offer some excellent deals, especially at lunch, but I was there for the same reason most diners seem to be: the all you can eat special! Although I'm up for trying more exotic sushi my restaurant go to is always the spicy tuna roll, which is done very well here. I also had some pieces of sashimi and nigiri which were excellent. They don't shortchange you on the fish, nice surprise for AYCE. The Charlotte roll--shrimp, crab, and cucumber deep fried with assorted shredded fish on top--was delicious and very big. That one I had to struggle to finish! The only item I've had that I just can't recommend is the age tofu. For a fried tofu dish it's just too soft, as though no one had bothered to press the tofu first (or hadn't let it press long enough). Service was friendly but...fair. The restaurant wasn't especially busy but I had to flag down my server for a drink refill. Speaking of service, something important to keep in mind here: order conservatively. Don't cram everything your party wants into the first go round. As other customers have noted this can cause the staff to think you're going overboard, ergo you may not get served every item you request. This can be a real bummer if you're looking forward to a particular roll. There's no limit to the number of orders you can place (within the two hour window) so pacing yourself helps ensure you get what you want. At $28.99 the meal is comparably priced to other AYCE sushi deals I've had. As far as endless sushi in the area goes I may have to give a slight edge to Mizumi. But given how convenient Sushi Kingdom is--and how difficult it is to get a table at Mizumi on a weekend--I'm sure I'll be here much more often! read more

It was a Monday, and that means almost everything is closed at lunch, especially when it comes to Asian and sushi restaurants. Sushi Kingdom was an exception to this (along with Little Tokyo, which is a little further down 68). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have even tried Sushi Kingdom if it hadn't been a Monday and I really wanted sushi. There are several other sushi options in the immediate area of the Palladium, with one being only a few feet down the sidewalk. Anyway, I love Little Tokyo but Sushi Kingdom was closer, and I love trying new restaurants. My girlfriend and I were greeted and seated quickly upon walking in, and we opted to sit at the sushi bar. We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer, and the Sexy Lady roll and Yummy roll. Our spring rolls were brought to us and my first thought was they were bigger than other places. They were easily the size of an egg roll, but, well a spring roll. The first bite of mine was warm, but the second bite was not only cold, it was frozen. I was literally chewing a frozen spring roll, which tells me they don't make them fresh. I notified our waitress, who was very apologetic and had them make us a new order. The next order came out hot and with more apologies from who I think was the manager. Despite them being hot the second time around, I wasn't impressed with them. They were boring and lacked flavor. Both the sushi rolls were overall good. I can't remember which was which, but the one with shrimp tempura and the spicy crab on top was really yummy. The one with the spicy tuna was good, but I felt like the texture of the fish was slightly off. The taste was fine, so it may have been the way it was sliced? Either way, we enjoyed both rolls. I'm pretty sure this space was occupied by a sports bar previously, as there were two televisions in the restaurant, one of which had horrible color and people's faces were literally red. But the actual restaurant is clean and nicely set up with a few booths and sushi counter seating. The employees were helpful, informative, and friendly. It was fun to try a new restaurant but to be honest, with four other sushi places in the immediate area (and an AYCE) sushi in the works nearby, I probably won't go back. read more
