Great little local sushi spot off Corrine in the Audubon area. This family owned place has plenty of seating, but there is limited parking. Came here today to meet a friend for lunch and this place was quiet. I noticed some happy hour specials that I will definitely have to try out another time. I ordered the fire dragon roll and the spicy tuna roll. Definitely winners in my book. The spicy tuna roll was pretty standard, it that fire dragon roll was amazing. Shrimp tempura roll with cucumber then topped with eel, avocado, and spicy krab mix. The gyoza looked great that my girlfriend got and her roll as well. Usually the service is fast, but it can take some time to be attended to if it's busy because there are usually only a few servers working the floor The reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because 90% of the deluxe rolls on the pretty lengthy menu contain cream cheese. I'm not sure why they choose to do this, but every time I see a roll that sounds good, it has cream cheese on it. It's definitely a small thing, and something I'm probably weird for even noticing. Sushi thatis so beautiful, it's almost a crime to eat. But I did, and I have no regrets. The rolls were perfect. We had the unbelievable, a ninja and an eel roll. My favorite was actually the eel. But all were spectacular. The only down side to my visit was the slow service at the start. We waited at least 15 minutes after being sat before we ever saw our server. We actually almost left. Nice casual sushi place, and we didn't have to wait long on a Friday night to be seated. Parking is somewhat limited as they share parking with the shopping plaza. I was lucky to find a spot and my friend found a spot after circling a couple times. We ordered a bottle of white peach sake, spicy garlic edamame, and the yellowtail carpaccio. The spicy garlic edamame was very good, but be warned it is very spicy. The yellowtail carpaccio was delicious. My friend is gluten free and I will say there weren't many options for her. It would be helpful if they would indicate what was GF on the menu, but that's a preference not necessarily a necessity. I had the Wednesday Morning roll and the Playboy roll. I really enjoyed the Playboy roll, but certain bites of the Wednesday Morning roll were a bit fishy tasting. I would definitely come back. Despite COVID19 putting a damper on my "yelping," I have finally tried Sushi Lola's. Simply amazing. My sushi was so flavorful and the portions a generous size. We got three rolls to go: TNT, Volcano, and Fire Dragon. All were delicious. I am biased; volcano was my favorite! The fire dragon and TNT rolls had plenty of avocado, which is so hard to find! I would absolutely go back and order all three rolls again. I am sitting here full as I write this review. Everything was delicious and dynamic in flavor. Rolls are well-priced! I was in the mood for Japanese and wanted to try a different place. After reviewing the menu and reading reviews, I decided to go with Sushi Lola's. It was a good choice! I ordered Korean dumplings, tempura udon, and an Unbelievable roll. The dumplings were spot on. They had a great flavor and a nice dipping sauce. The unbelievable roll was actually my least favorite thing. I was a little disappointed in it. It was on the small side for the price and the flavors didn't really pop to me. Not bad by any means, but not the best I've had. The udon however was pretty awesome! This was my first time trying udon and I will definitely order it again. The noodles were cooked well and I enjoyed the flavor of the broth and the mushrooms. The tempura part was kind of odd since the breading comes off when you add it to the soup but I am guessing I also could have been eating it incorrectly since it was my first time. I think I'd just prefer non fried additions next time. I will give a different sushi roll a shot and try some more items here in the future. read more

Decided to try some Tuna Tostadas (Fried Wonton Topped with Avocado and Marinated Tuna and pickled Jalapeno.) with a simple spicy tuna and cucumber roll. What a mistake! The restaurant has a decent amount of seating, but it definitely gets pretty busy inside some nights. For nicer weather, they have several tables outside as well. They have a lot of unique rolls. I tend to stick to my trusty rainbow roll, but everything I've had here has been delicious. We arrived near to closing time and the place was still pretty popping. They sat us right away but took a hot second to bring over menus. I saw many photos of the Lava Dips appetizer, so we got those to start. The menu only says 3 or 6 but you can order 4 for $8. These were so not healthy but were really unique and savory. I like that they added some stringed carrorts to nibble on also. For our rolls we ordered the Hawaiian ($11) and the playboy ($14). I have to say the playboy was pretty special, fried shrimp with an assortment of different fish on top. I would definitely order that one again. The Hawaiian wasn't that spectacular, it's basically a small roll with tuna and avocado with seaweed on top. I'd almost say just order a small roll and get the seaweed salad on the side. I love that they give you wrapped cookies as a thank you with your bill. What a sweet surprise, literally...ha ha. I'd love to come back to try some other things on their menu. They have great selection of happy hour menu items which was price very decent. Two specialty deluxe rolls were $20 and I believe regular sushi rolls were two for $10 (i may be wrong). I had the Magic Roll which was really cool when it came out wrap in foil with fire around it. It was good but since the fire was around the sushi the rice stuck to the foil. The Desiree Cute server that offers free samples I go here often and it has become my new go-to quick sushi spot. I like the Desiree roll the most if I had to recommend just one but honestly, all the other rolls we had we're delicious. The service was lead by a cute, smaller older lady who offered us a free sample of some dish we couldn't find on the menu. It was some sort of savory fried batter ball. Ordered a volcano roll to-go and it was absolutely delicious! I loved the fresh krab salad piled on top and the combination of the spicy Mayo and sweet chili sauce was incredible. I also appreciate the thoughtful packaging- they put the krab topping in aluminum foil in the to-go box so it doesn't get messy with the rolls underneath. The krab salad topping is served cold while some other places serve it warm, but I enjoy it either way. My only complaint is that the portion is quite small for the price, I've had much bigger portions of volcano rolls at other places, but it was so delicious unlike a lot of other places that make a very basic flavorless volcano roll, so it was worth it. read more

Tiny little spot I spotted the last time I was at the brewery next door called Redlight Redlight. This is the perfect spot to come after a few drinks and some shopping. Today I decided to just pick up takeout to try them out for the first time. The only complaint I have is I ordered the dancing shrimp roll based on a photo I saw another yelp user posted. My dancing shrimp roll barely had any of the crab salad looking mixture. Other than that very minute detail everything else was extremely good and fresh especially for take out. I will be back! We got there at 4:15 and they open at 4:00 so there was only about 3 tables in there. They have happy hour from Monday - Saturday 4-6pm. We started off with Gyozas, I don't eat pork so I am so glad that they had different options for the filling of the Gyoza, we ended up going with chicken and it was delicious. For their deluxe sushi, we tried 4 different ones and they were incredible. The sushi was fresh and tasty. I have finally found my new favorite sushi spot on the east side of Orlando. I feel like Sushi Lola's is often overlooked in the area. It's a smaller, modest restaurant in the Audobon park area. I went to have some lunch and wanted to try out a new sushi spot. I ordered a miso soup and a chirashi bowl (which is basically a rice bowl with an assortment of sashimi usually beautifully presented) they did an outstanding job! Not only was the chirashi bowl beautiful but they had a few ingredients included that you don't normally find in other chirashi bowls in the area. The service is prompt and to the point, it's usually an older woman serving tables but she's kind and helpful, always makes you feel comfortable. Another visit I tried the Tuna Kobachi- it was fresh and spicy - surrounded by tempura flakes sitting atop a bed of molded avocados (that were also very fresh as well, no oxidation in sight so kudos to their produce provider!) it was also topped with fish eggs that provided a subtle and delightful pop. Their seaweed salad is also a larger portion - definitely enough to share - it came with some KaniKama (artificial Krab) that was a nice touch. When you grab your check you also get home made chocolate chip cookies! So that's also a nice little touch.
