    Happy hour and special menu

Sushi Lounge in Poway is a great spot for fresh, quality sushi with fast and friendly service. Although the table were a bit close together, the place is clean and not too big, but when we went it wasn't crowded, which made for a really relaxed vibe. We hit the sweet spot in the early afternoon when both happy hour and the lunch menu were running. Seriously, if you can go around 3:30, that's money. We shared a few rolls off the happy hour menu along with a lunch combo, and it was the perfect amount for three people. Toss in a couple of large sakes and we were set. Definitely coming back (I'll just park where I can't see the gym ).

Visited 7/24/2025 Finally checked out, The Sushi Lounge - Poway Wow Wish I hadn't waited so long. Nice place with lots of parking and seating inside and out. Very clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The Menu is small and to the point filled with tasty house specialties to choose from. I chose several things for lunch. The Pork Gyoza. $9.25 I must say they were the Best Pork Pan Fried Dumplings i can remember ever having. The Perfect Starter. Next I ordered their Top Speciality Sushi Roll. And a side dish of the House Made Cucumber Salad. $6.25 The Chuck Norris Roll. $19.95 Pricy but packed with a nice selection of seafood goodness. I enjoyed it and makes me want to try more of their Specialty Rolls. Service was speedy and efficient. Looking forward to my next visit.

Solid sushi spot in Poway. VIBE: Simple and sleek inside. Can get pretty busy even on weekdays; it's a popular neighborhood restaurant. FOOD: Good. While I prefer other sushi spots for the speciality rolls and sashimi, I do enjoy their more basic options (edamame, crunch roll, etc). I particularly like the Jaimpeno appetizer! SERVICE: A little hit or miss. I've had both quick and attentive service and painfully slow service. Sometimes a friendly and sometimes a not so friendly host.

We arrived about 12:45 in the afternoon for some lunchtime sushi. We haven't been to this sushi restaurant before, so it was nice to see an area outside of the restaurant. We decided to sit outside since it was such a nice day. There were not very many people while we were there so it was nice and the person who took our order came and went often enough to not be a bother but was attentive. The sushi we ordered was good, the miso soup was better than average. Overall, an above average experience. Three people, $100 which included the tip. A little bit on the expensive side, but not too bad given today's costs.

One of my favorite Happy Hour specials at Sushi Lounge Poway is their "Crispy Rice"! Four portions of fried rice, served nigiri style, crowned with spicy albacore, beautiful avocado slices, jalapeño and a yuzu truffle jalapeño vinaigrette. I just love all the contrasting textures and flavors going on with this one. Pairs perfectly with a nice, crisp draft Asahi beer. Sushi Lounge Poway is a great place featuring a stylish decor and warm lounge-like atmosphere. The service is always hospitable with a relaxed, friendly vibe.

Came mid day on a Monday. Maybe 2 other tables in the restaurant. Multiple employees running around. The servers were incredibly nice and helpful. I wish I got the name of the male server bc he was just great. Beyond that the sushi was good- nothing amazing. The garlic edamame had a weird flavor to it- cinnamon maybe? While the servers were so kind, everything was slightly slow to come out which was strange considering how many working vs. how many ordering. Probably not my go to in this area but not opposed to returning.

We are here yea we did.... I don't leave bad reviews... so LETS TALK ABOUT THE GOODS..... We Love Garlic Edamamei!! It's the perfect appetizer I wish every restaurant including Steak Houses would just have it on the menu. It's a no brainer for me when I arrive at a sushi spot. What I love most about edamame is seeing all the different ways a chief can prepare it! And this guys did something new and interesting to there's , they added cinnamon! Yes who would have thought! When I was eating it it was really good had that slat sweet taste and I could figure out if it was me or not , so I had to ask the chief and to my surprise! Never under estimate the power of good edamame!!!

Out of everything, my favorite is the ability for this place to stay consistent and that all food is tasty and flavorful while having a huge menu. I really enjoy the spicy mayo here. The servers are always so nice and paying is through their toast little handheld device. Parking spots are plentiful, but a little small in size. This place is god for big parties and I love coming here when there is a game because the multiple tvs are typically basketball/baseball/football. I highly recommend coming here!

The staff are very friendly and greet you immediately, except for the sushi chef, who is very stern and does not engage. We came at opening, and the place was empty, for a Saturday, I found that strange. We were told to choose any seat we wanted. Service was quick and very attentive. The menu has a little of everything, but it definitely caters more to the American palate than the Japanese. We ordered Spicy Cucumbers and Shishito Peppers as starters. Both were good. They actually tasted really good when you ate them together. For our mains, we ordered Unagi sashimi style, the honey roll, and the Roka roll. To be brutally honest, I rate sushi restaurants based on their Unagi. For me, it has to be cut very traditionally and served the same. This Unagi did not meet my standards, and yet, it was very tasty and fresh. It was a good surprise. The Honey Roll was very fresh and tasty, except for the lemon on top. The pith was not removed, and it gave it a bitter aftertaste. When we removed the lemon, it was very good. I did not like the Roka Roll, but my daughter really enjoyed it. It was missing something, in my opinion. The portions are generous, so you can fill up with just a few selections. This was just not to my palate. We asked for hot tea, and they brought us a coffee mug with a tea bag and hot water. As I said, more American than Japanese in style. The worst part for me was the ladies' room. I doubt they can do much about this, but there is such a strong sewer smell in there that it is overpowering and really hard to use the bathroom.

Cute sushi spot near Phil's bbq…read more Very warm and inviting inside and I like all the booths and how spaced out they are even in the center of the restaurant. There's a lot of businesses around this area so I can see Sushi Kami being a popular spot for a go-to lunch outside of work. We came for dinner and got seated right away and it wasn't too busy at all. It was nice but still casual at the same time if that makes sense. I will say the parking was a little tight and we had to make a bit of an awkward U-turn to get to the restaurant but the lot wasn't that full so it wasn't too bad but I could see this being trickier in the daytime. I really enjoyed both the spicy tuna and salmon. I've had a lot of weird spicy tuna but this one hit just right. It's always hard to find that perfect balance between fish and spice but I really enjoyed this one. The salmon was good too. The standout was definitely the tempura we got as well. It was large and came out hot and crispy and perfect. This is the type of sushi restaurant I could take people to who don't necessarily like sushi all that much. There's lots of options on the menu including bulgogi (next time I shall try!) and really good combos for people to enjoy. Ambiance is chill but still has that fun sushi vibe with the displays of fish (and I even saw some creative fish decorating on the walls which I thought was a nice touch) Service was nice and they always refilled our waters without us having to ask. I enjoyed the food and the vibe! Would definitely come back to try more ...and brings others along too!

It looks like most of the other tables were reserved for reservations. The decor is modern and very clean and chic. They also had a high chair and was accommodating with our baby. Food was incredible and the quality of the fish is evident throughout. We started with the mixed shrimp and vegetable tempura - light crispy batter, really good. The sashimi champaloo came with 12 pieces of sashimi, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and the fish of the day was albacore. For rolls, we got the Luna Lemon, Maru's Sushi Toro, and Hamachi Hiro. The rolls were a good size and I loved how each had a fun twist (but at the same time not TOO crazy with their combinations like some other sushi places). You can tell it was designed with intention and each roll had a nice balance. The Luna Lemon roll was great with spicy tuna inside, salmon outside, and the soy dressing and shallot oil put it over the top. The Maru's Sushi - Toro roll looked so good in the photos so I knew we had to order it. The negitoro was delicious and did not disappoint. The Hamachi Hiro roll was hearty and loved the combination of yellowtail outside the shrimp tempura in the inside. We were blown away by how fast the service is. The staff was friendly and on top of everything, and the food came out REALLY fast. For example, when we ordered an extra roll at the end, it came out in maybe 3 minutes and we were shocked. The sashimi was pretty good, but quality wise the sashimi champloo was definitely superior. -Salmon mango roll ($9.50): This had spicy salmon, mango, and ume furikake. This was quite tasty, and definitely had a kick to it. -Maru Maru roll ($9.50): This had imitation crab meat, shrimp tempura, and avocado.
