    Kung pao chicken

Very friendly Asian couple we're working and the food was very good. The bento box was great as was the Kung Pao chicken. The flying dragon roll was OK. The spicy crab mixture was pretty bland. The Cali roll in the Bento box was great so maybe shy away from the spicy crab filling type sushi options. Lots of TVs to watch on a quiet end of the terminal.

it was great - got a bento box, delicious! nice service, comparable pricing, even airport employee discount options!

Love the food here! Every dish I have ordered is absolutely delicious. I had never tried sushi before and now love it, glad I tried it here for the first time. The service is good and the people are hospitable. I used to eat here twice a week before flying out and as soon as I came back. Great ambiance with a lot of TVs along the wall. The Spicy pork entree is what I order I most often and it is the best spicy pork I've ever had including everywhere else in Anchorage and other cities as well.

    Bear Bait Roll

Overall I would give this place 4 out of 5 stars. Everything I've had has been great! I had the bear bait roll along with a hazy ipa. Service is always great and food and drink come quickly. Ambiance is... well an airport restaurant. No complaints, though! Prices are high, again, airport pricing. I will say, however, that the roll was a decent size for the price, so that's a plus. This is a perfect place to park while you wait for your flight!

Automatic charge tip 15%. They are fast, food tasted good and portion is ok too. I was hungry when I pass by McDonalds. Thank god I walk little more. If you are taking Alaska airlines you are in luck. This place is great!

I still think it is the best airport food in Anchorage. Tried a different spot recently, and while they tried, it just wasn't up to par. I appreciate the fact that Sushi on the Fly has gluten free soy sauce. I usually order a salmon roll with avocado and cucumber. Lately I've also begun to order some edamame and sake on longer layovers. My travel companions on my last trip did say their noodles were on the saltier side. Hopefully it was just an off day.

It was great! Stuff is very friendly (very surprising for AK) not big choice of raw fish but it was fresh, well stop again on our way from King Salmon

    Sashimi (12 piece)

DELICIOUS and the staff is super friendly. If you want a quick, wholesome bite to recharge, pop in here on a layover or while waiting to hop on a flight out of Anchortown. Try the sashimi. It is expertly carved and beautifully presented. Always fresh, always a good choice. (I also have never been autocharged a tip here. My bill reflected the menu price before tip.)

It's the summer season, so a very busy time seems hectic, but it tastes good if you visit and receive food. It's very good for airport food.

The space has a modern Japanese minimalist aesthetic--clean lines, warm lighting, and a refined calm that feels both welcoming and quietly upscale. It's thoughtfully designed without being cold, striking a balance between contemporary elegance and comfort. Shabu-shabu here is on the pricier side, but the portioning justifies it. The small shabu-shabu easily feeds three to four people, especially when shared properly, and nothing about it felt skimpy or rushed. Three visits in, it continues to deliver!

We used to come here when this place was Peter's Sushi Spot, the inside has not changed hugely…read moresince then, except maybe for the hot plates on the tables, should you wish to have shabu shabu. The hot plates are spotlessly clean, I did notice, and there were instructions on the wall on how to cook shabu shabu. We used to come for the Tempura Udon which was spectacular. We were seated very quickly, and water was brought out. I decided to go with my benchmark dish, which always gives me some idea of whether I will return or not, and ordered chicken fried rice, husband got the tempura udon, so he could compare with the previous Udon we used to get here. I noticed that their soft drinks are only $2 which is an excellent price in my opinion. I got a Canada Dry as I love ginger ale. His Udon came out quite quickly, and we could instantly tell that the broth did not have the same depth of flavour, as when we used to come here, (it was quite smoky and very umami) and this one has a distinctly seaweed tang. Thats not to say that it's bad, it's just different. The noodles are also not quite so dense, chewy or toothsome. Additionally the tempura was somewhat of a letdown. The shrimps were very slimline compared to the display on the tv. There was an onion ring, that was also quite thin. Just not a good representation of tempura. Also, comparing with the Udon that used to be here, you also got a cup of miso soup, and a small salad with a carrot orange dressing. Those are gone. As for my chicken fried rice, well the presentation was excellent, it came on a beautiful plate, and looked very appetizing. The first couple of bites were really nice, plenty of carrots, broccoli, chicken, however I soon started encountering tender crisp onions. Which I cannot eat. They give me violent stomach pains. I can only eat onions that have been cooked down to almost mush. Anything raw or that has any element of crunch to it is a no-go, as it will make me ill. I found it somewhat unusual, as I get fried rice all over town and have never encountered chunky onions before. I'm sure I could have asked them to leave them out had I known they were going to be in there. It tasted good, for sure, but having to continually move the onions aside (and there was a lot of onions) was offputting. Normally when i get fried rice, I eat some, and take the rest in a to go box. I did not take the rest home this time which is very telling. Anyway, service was excellent, and they were very attentive - for instance our server saw that my husband was giving me a spoonful of his udon, and without being asked he came over with an extra spoon, small bowl, and a ladle, which I thought was very thoughtful. I cannot fault the staff.

Mine may have showed up 20mins after my neighbor's. The quality of the food items were just ok. I had comparable sushi at another sushi restaurant a few blocks away. -Idiot Fish: The most exciting thing was the name. It was a pretty firm fish, no fat, and quite a few bones. -Sashimi Platter: 6 types, with 2 each. We got mackerel, yellowtail, tuna, salmon, white fish (snapper?), and octopus. -King Crab Roll: What I thought was the imitation crab was actually real crab. The coloring was so ...fake looking. It's not a bad roll, but I'm not sure the flavor of the crab came through. -Beef Steak Japanese Style: Big dish but awful cut of meat and had a semi off taste. Either freezer burn or the fridge. It was full of sinew and super chewy. -Herring Roe on Seaweed: This had a strange bitter aftertaste. I couldn't eat the beef after having this, it made the beef bitter too. It was a super fun texture though. Very snappy, very poppy. Only come here if you absolutely have the time for it. My dinner took about 3 hours, and there were 5 other tables.

The presentation alone deserved its own spotlight, with vibrant colors, thoughtful plating, and that "don't touch it yet, just admire it" kind of appeal. The salmon panang curry was hands down my favorite. The salmon was perfectly cooked tender, flaky, and rich sitting in a velvety panang curry sauce that balanced creamy coconut with just the right amount of heat. The flavors were bold but beautifully harmonious, with a depth that made every bite better than the last. It's the kind of dish you immediately start planning to order again before you've even finished it. The tonkotsu miso soup was equally impressive. The broth was luxuriously rich and full-bodied, with that slow-simmered depth you hope for in a great tonkotsu. The miso added a savory complexity that made the whole bowl incredibly comforting. Every spoonful felt warming and satisfying perfect for an Anchorage evening. Beyond the food itself, the overall experience was wonderful. When a restaurant manages to combine stunning presentation with flavors that truly deliver, it stands out and RickShaw absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back... and next time, I won't forget the photos.
