    #12. Alaska Roll
    Amy A.

Christmas Day and needed food last minute, so ordered on delivery app. Sushi Para came through for us. Everything was fresh and delicious!! Philadelphia and Alaska rolls are the favorites, but everything was good.

It's not the food that's 2 stars. I want to start by saying food was good. It was the service that turned me off. I came here for lunch one day since I was in the area, they didn't have wifi and I wanted to work and enjoy some sushi. I wanted to do takeout for a lunch special since I couldn't hook up to the internet and work there. Lady upfront gave me the total which was almost $17 and I'm like how? The menu says $10.99. Apparently they charge an extra $3-4 for a lunch special takeout. I didn't see the dine-in only part until looking at their site later, but when she said she could do it, she only said the difference is that soup wouldn't be included and didn't upfront mention the added cost until I asked. She then said, yeah its costs more for takeout, it's better if you just eat here. I said fine and just decided to eat there since I had the time to kill and was just needing lunch at that point. Although the food was good, please don't say you can do something then not mention the extra cost. It felt a bit sneaky to ring it up as takeout then not mention what that extra cost was until I asked, when I only was originally told soup wouldn't be included as the caveat. Long story short - I ate there, food was good that day, service was average, not the friendliest server to be honest.

Hidden Palatine Gem! Don't worry about the ambiance. They have great sushi and price for an AYCE.

I put off writing a review for Sushi Para for years, but I'm doing it now. My family and I have eaten here many, many times and it is special to us. I used to live in this neighborhood, and this is where I really started to get into sushi. I will first say that this place serves fairly large rolls, which means plenty of rice. I personally don't think it is in order to fill you up on rice. It's just their style. If they wanted to make more money, they could easily raise the pricing on their all-you-can-eat menus, which are priced very low. You get plenty of fish, just plenty of rice as well. It's most noticeable on the nigiri. Anyway, they have great tasting sushi which has always tasted fresh to me, with a nice inventive, variety of rolls. During Covid, they followed all the rules to the letter. Obviously, enough loyal customers ordered takeout , and they made it through. I for one, will continue to enjoy this place. You might have to wait for seating, especially at peak times. I'm not the only one who knows about this place.

Palatine, Chicago, Spirer roolsare the best

In 15 years this place improved and keep quality for last few years in the area. Palatine anc Chicago lools are my best. Many local restaurants disappeared over time. Totally recommending.

I got the all you can eat sushi and it was not bad. There was a limit in how mush sashimi you could get but other than that the quality was good. The service was a bit slow however there was plenty of seating for everyone! The atmosphere was nice as well.

Wow, my last review here was 4 years ago! Time for an update! As you can see, I've been going to Sushi Para for a few years now. It's definitely one of my favorite All You Can Eat sushi spots. Pricing currently is $22 for All You Can Eat dinner which is a steal! I love their rolls here; their fish is high quality and I love their spicy mayo. The most recent rolls I got were the crunch roll, sapporo roll, and mountain roll. The ginger here is always crisp and their gyoza is my fav gyoza among other AYCE sushi restaurants! I will say, the service is a hit or miss. They don't check up on you really after you order, so sometimes it might take a while if you need something. I don't see a lot of servers during busy nights either, so maybe they're just understaffed, but it's been like that for quite some time. The restaurant is medium-sized, spacious, and has a lot of parking. I'd definitely recommend Sushi Para for some All You Can Eat sushi!

If you want affordable high quality sushi this is your place!! I drive 30 minutes to enjoy their delish food. The service is mediocre, the ambience is okay but the food gets five stars. I recommend they update their interior a little more. It does feel a little crammed when they are super crowded. Maybe they can add some booths? Or outdoor tables? Their incredible value keeps me and my family coming back. It's only $18 for all you can eat lunch and $25 for dinner sushi. You really can't beat the price anywhere else

I finally found a cheap and pretty good sushi restaurant out here! And they do AYCE too :D I ordered spicy tuna, Alaska roll, and Pop up roll. I enjoyed them all! The flavors were good, there was little rice, and the ingredients seemed fresh. My favorite roll was the pop up roll because I really liked chewiness of the shrimp and the pieces were pretty big. The only thing that slightly bothered me was that the sushi pieces were overall soft/mushy. Maybe I'll order rolls with tempura chips next time to have some more texture. I would definitely make the 20 min drive here to order sushi again and I will definitely come back to do AYCE sushi too!

We went here for an all you can eat dinner, on a Saturday, around 4 PM ($25/person). They had tables when we got there, but as the evening went on, it started to get full. Around 445. Service was very fast, and we got everything that we ordered very quickly. We ordered a couple appetizers which were OK. The sushi was pretty good! We got about six different rolls.

Great service and the prices are inflation busters! Sunny is the kindest and most awesome server! It was very busy, limited tables, but worth the wait if you do have to wait around.

When she came to take our order she didn't greet us or ask about anything besides "what would you like". We ordered 4 rolls which came out fairly quick...one at a time and the last two together. We then asked for 2 more rolled after flagging her down. She kept coughing which was a bit off putting. Assuming she was sick and maybe wasn't feeling well. Eeeeek. I'd go back as the place is close, cozy and quality of sushi was better than others in the area. I also like the options they had which were not the standard as we find around most places in this area. Usually they're similar rolls with different names.

We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.

Well- let's just say he wasn't too warm or welcoming and could barely grunt a greeting. Hmm. We were quickly seated in a very japanese-looking restaurant (a good sign). Seriously. Seriously? Me with a main dish and my hubby/friends bereft of food? Oh wow. I didn't touch it until the apps arrived a couple minutes later - finally their mains arrived. Yay. The apps? Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye. That would be a big help- after all, this was our first visit- and it wasn't too welcoming - it would have offset the bad sprouts, you know?
