It's an AYCE sushi place. Don't expect some amazing Japanese culinary experience. With that said, they have a pretty good sushi for the price point. They have THE BEST spicy mayo in my opinion. I tried recreating it and I think I got close but they won't tell me the recipe. The nigiri can be heavy on the rice as is typical for AYCE places. They appetizers are mediocre. I do appreciate their to-go party trays when I am not doing AYCE because you can get a giant try of good sushi for a reasonable price and you have an excuse to eat their delicious spicy mayo. read more

This is a location I've been coming to since high school and it's consistently decent. Definitely not the best sushi ever and on busy days it can be a bit spotty with service -- dishes take a while to come out, servers aren't around to refill drinks (once had a meal here with friends where our drinks weren't refilled the entire hour and a half we were eating there!) -- but for the quality was always okay enough that the price justified coming back again and again. Of course, the rice to fish ratio is pretty ridiculous but what do you expect from AYCE? The last few times I've come, though, I've noticed a pretty big slip. Dishes we didn't order would arrive leaving us stuck with food we didn't want and had to pay for, AYCE menus were clearly re-used with previous customers' writing on it, and some of the appetizers like the miso soup or shumai were cold. It was just disappointing. I would probably come back again at some point, at least for old times' sake, but for the price this place just isn't worth it anymore. Came here with my boyfriend on a Wednesday night to have AYCE sushi for dinner. They offer a lot of your typical sushi rolls such as Philadelphia Roll, rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll, etc. My boyfriend was able to grab our table right away and had a friendly server who had a lot of tables all at once during this night. We ordered Miso soup twice, fried calamari, shumai, angel hair roll, pop up roll, Boston roll, and some sashimi. The downside for part of the AYCE dinner menu is that some items that I've typically seen included in the price were actually extra charges if you ordered it, so just be aware of that when dining. The rolls came either in 5 pieces or 8. All of the food was pretty average overall, nothing too out of the ordinary. read more

Came here with my husband after another sushi restaurant had a 40 minute wait. The place was busy, but we were seated promptly, and my husband informed me that they had an AYCE dinner option, so we both went wit that! I have to say, I was hesitant to come here after reading some reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! With the AYCE option you have a plethora of items to choose from, including appetizers and desserts! I had the miso soup, which was flavored well, and it included a lot tofu. My husband had the spring rolls and gyoza. The dumplings had a nice crunch, but still chewy as a dumpling should be. The pork inside was seasoned well. The spring rolls were fried and filled with simple vegetables. For the sushi, I picked a three different rolls. I had a the Spider, Alaskan, and the Shrimp Tempura roll. All were well wrapped and had plenty of fish in them! They were so filling that after that round I was full! I definitely want to come back here to try more of the menu, and I think the AYCE option is the best option for your money, even if you only eat one round! read more

It's tucked back into a small strip so it's hard to see at first, but I have been going there for over 5 years and have never had a bad experience with their service or food. The rolls are made fresh just across the room so you can watch while you wait. They have had the same waiters/waitresses there most of the time I have been there also..they are always pleasant and quick about their tables. It's my sister and I's favorite lunch date spot! Can I get some fish with my rice?!! I've been to my fair share of AYCE sushi places and expect a little more rice on Nigiris and rolls than normal sushi spots....but DAMN, this place was WAY too much rice. So much rice that you barely tasted the fish on nigiris. The specialty rolls were the biggest I've ever seen....anywhere. All rice. Had to remove more than half of the rice on the nigiris to enjoy it. With all the leftover rice from mine and my wife's plate, they could've easily made atleast 20 more nigiris and maybe 3 more rolls. Yes they did charge extra for the left over rice but expected it. I will say the price is cheap so didn't mind being charged extra but felt it was such a waste. Will we go again?.....prob not. read more

The female staff here are amongst the rudest I have ever dealt with. They decided to make their wait area as small as possible, only one person can fit at a time, even jf you are making an order you are expected to stand outside while the other picks up their food, the people I have no basic concept of Manu so common courtesy and the food often smells like hot garbage, I've had food poisoning ones from there already and I know a couple of other people who have also had food poisoning they have been reported to the city I'm also the state inspector read more

Where else can you get all you can eat sushi for $19.95 on a Friday or Saturday night? Nowhere. That's where. Todaii is more expensive at the sushi + service at Sushi Para is wayyy better! I've been here about 3 times now and have always had a pleasant experience. Very nice service but always expect to wait! You can't make reservations and it's not a huge restaurant. I can never seem to eat enough sushi to justify getting the all you can eat so everytime I've gone, I've opted to just order off the menu. Give me a Philly and Tuna (Spicy is okay, too) and I'm a happy girl! One day I promise I will get the all you can here and shovel as much as I possibly can into my tiny mouth! Either way, sushi is decent here but not amazing. Rolls are a bit sloppy but they get the job done. Have more cream cheese then fish most times in my philly roll but that's okay! Restaurant review update: Please read my prior review for all the details. This place is still happening with a long line Sunday night for dinner. Buffet cost 18.99 which is nice. Lots of rice with the maki, but the salmon was so fresh and fatty it was amazing. The only downside was with our main order they would short change the maki order each time. Maybe it is because they ran out of room on the plate. If you like sushi and are okay with rice you should come here for the AYCE experience. read more

FOOD POISONING and BAD MANAGER!!! Ate a quarter plate but the food tasted weird so I stopped. I told them I'm happy to pay but shouldn't have to pay for the left over food. The lady said I should go to the doctor then and if they say it's food poisoning they'll refund me but that it's not... she unless I finish all the food I have to pay extra... then threatened to call the police.... When she gave me my card back, she said I'm just full.... I normally eat 20 sushi, and only had like 5... I'm not stupid, I know what full feels like. Now I'm crying and vomiting in my car. First time dining here and the last time dining here! You wouldn't expect an $18.99 AYCE Sushi special to be the highest quality, but you shouldn't expect it to be so bad you couldn't wait to leave. The nice thing is you get a large selection of rolls and sashimi to choose from, but that's where it ends. Almost every single roll had cucumber in which I can only imagine is used to fill you up, making the taste difference from one roll to the next barely noticeable unless it had spicy mayo on it. The sashimi was made with such a large amount of rice it was ridiculous. Again, I believe it was purposely made that way to fill you up quickly. They have a very strict "You Pay for What You Don't Eat" policy, so maybe they're trying to make money that way. I got a roll I didn't even order! The only reason I gave them two stars is because the sashimi was very fresh and tasty. I just took half the rice off of it. I didn't have enough of anything good that makes me want to return again. had a horrific experience here yesterday ordered some sushi with house salad. waitress brought out humongous pieces of lettuce but the hard uneatable parts of it. not only these parts should not be used in a decent salad because they aren't chewable (maybe for a rabbit they are), but they are so humongous that one needs a steak knife to cu them to eat. thickness was that of a hamburger )). instead of being nicely cut up in a bowl, these were flat on a plate swimming in some brown mixture of vinegar and soy sauce. obviously anyone who has even been to a Japanese restaurant knows how ginger dressing mg should be apple sauce consistency, orange-ish color. So after trying to eat something off that awful plate with my chopsticks unsuccessfully - me and my girlfriend who got same horrendous salad - we sent it back. but worse was yet to come. Manager!!! came to us and asked what's wrong with our salads. We explained. She then returned in 5 min with two better looking salads. they were still very far from a good standard Japanese salad (like nearby Benihana, sushi grove, kahuya sushi or rokbonki would have), but a little more cut up using normal parts of lettuce. ( you can also notice on images that there were no other ingredients except bad lettuce and brown (yuk) sauce) Manager comes with these two slightly better looking salads and starts questioning us what in the world we don't like about these and how they are absolutely normal... so she basically argues with us how our complaint made no sense and we are wrong. i was lost for words. what customer service from a manager??? Thankfully i had pictures posted here of original salads and tried to carry my point across again. But manager insisted this is their normal good salad, we had no right to complain and every restaurant has a different salad, but this one has this salad and it's perfectly fine as is. so after 5 min of this craziness i understood that she will spoil the rest of our meal and we should either leave or be quiet. My last comment to manager saying that 'all restaurants are different and this is our salad' - I answered with 'well, are you a Japanese restaurant serving Japanese salad or a golden coral or a Chinese restaurant' to what manager said out very loud 'you are racist' and walked away. so she totally twisted my words and publicly accused me of being racist... nearby tables looked at me shamefully as if I was indeed being racist That's when i was really lost for words... Was too shocked to leave and was never called racist before so it took me a while to gather my thoughts. Then food was brought out and was decent. I was told about this place maybe about a year ago and I finally made it here for the all you can eat sushi with my gf. We went on a weekday night and kinda early as to not run into the huge crowds that supposedly appear on weekend nights. The waitresses were not the most friendly but that is by no means a downfall in my eyes. As long as my drink never goes empty for too long and there isn't a huge pile of plates on the table I'm good to go. As for the sushi it is just about as good as your going to get for the price range and the menu. The one thing that got me thinking is the rice does not seem to be your traditional short grain sushi rice. Maybe I'm just going crazy but it almost looks and tastes like basmati rice to me. That being said the fish was fresh and nothing really turned me on or off about the experience. Everything kinda tasted the same and that might also be my own fault because I tend to order the rolls with spicy tuna or spicy salmon. Goof miso soup, good pot stickers, good sushi, all at a good price......just good not great..... All in all great value just go on a weekday and with an empty stomach. The best! I know it's all you can eat, but I simply love their flavors. It's fresh and really great rolls. The service is always relatively attentive and I've never felt rushed. Favorite rolls are the mountain roll, spicy salmon, American dream roll, and most of the nigiri. Their lunch special is crazy and if you are in the area this is a can't miss. This is one of my Go-To sushi spots in the NW burbs. Located in an unassuming strip mall- don't let the location scare you off. The fish is super fresh, the rice is seasoned to perfection and the service is very efficient. This is not necessarily a date night place but may be a date lunch or "let's stuff our face" date or friends/family spot. This is one of those all you can eat places BUT only order that if you can eat it all. They will charge you the full price of what you don't finish. I only get that deal at lunch (m-f is pretty cheap***menus attached in pics) or when I'm ordering more than two rolls. My FAVE roll is the mountain roll. Their spicy Mayo is the best I've had!!! Different from most other places and I also love their gyoza. Those are my go-to items. Beer, wine and sake for drinks. No cocktails. And if you want not to be rushed, don't ever go in less than an hour before close. When they mean they close at 10- they mean They are out the door at 10. (Pet peeve of mine) Missing the perfect 5 due to - location (little scary) no fun cocktails(I love mai tai or saketini with my sushi) The closing aspect-People if you put down a time that you close that should be the time you serve to. The sushi buffet was good ,however the ration sushi to rice was a bit too much. They were too much rice to little shushi , the worse part was the fact they asked you to pay for the extra rice.
