    Magoto Roll Santa Monica
    Shivali S.

An entire vegan roll section?!! Yes!!! Don't sleep on these options, my friend who got the Santa Monica roll liked my Magoto roll, it's a very unique and nicely balanced flavor profile, the sweetness of the mango with the savory and salty flavors was delicious! I also liked the crispy tofu roll I've had in the past a lot. I'm not giving 5 stars because it seems like the happy hour discount doesn't apply to the vegan rolls, which doesn't make sense to me since the vegan rolls are probably all cheaper to produce. I also feel that the portion sizes are a bit small so just keep that in mind! I like the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant, and appreciate the cleanliness and space in the private bathroom. Service has always been helpful and attentive here. Looking forward to trying more vegan rolls!

My little sushi place is blowing up!! I've eaten here at least 10x, every meal was exceptional. Happy hour deals are the best in town and are all day on weekends. Stand out budget rolls are Salmon Tataki and ceviche, both are on the $10 menu. The ramen is great, the pork belly bowl is tasty. They are generous with the edamame and my drink is the ginger mule. If you want a treat get the poke, they pack close to a lb of salmon into a bowl of crisp greens and rice. It's huge! And delicious. The wait last Friday evening kinda sucked but the food was worth the 40 minute wait.

My absolute favorite was the Spider Roll! Seriously, make sure you go for Happy Hour; that's when this place really shines. The bar boasts a fully stocked inventory and serves crafted cocktails. While the venue itself is spacious and comfortable, but the servers are less therefore expect slower service time.

Always some high quality sushi. Monday-Friday happy hour after 5pm Saturday Sunday all day totally worth it. Service is as fast as they can prepare, sometimes delayed depending how busy they are and if they have a bartender or not. Worth the wait and price for sure during happy hour. Ambiance is straight out of a club from the 90s or Night At the Roxbury. Nice place that I think is usually not as busy as it should be.

Working in Riverside area for years, one of the hardest questions I get as a foodie with an Asian stomach is: "Where can I find good and affordable Asian food nearby?" Well... I finally have an answer! Last week I went to R91 Sushi in Riverside and was so surprised--the place feels like a beautiful hidden garden, perfect for parties. On weekends, their Happy Hour runs all day. When I saw all rolls for $10, I honestly didn't believe it--normally one roll is $15-20. We tried the Red Moon and Naruto rolls, both super fresh and refreshing in this hot weather. They also have a $5 Nigiri special (2 pieces!), which is such a deal since usually one piece alone costs $5. My husband got the Ramen Combo for $12.99, and it even came with a Crunch Roll. Portion size was huge--definitely satisfying for him, and honestly for me it could last two meals. Plus, they have a massive wine cellar--so whether you're craving quick affordable bites or planning a big group gathering with drinks, this spot has it all. Ig: socalhkfoodies

We ordered a few rolls and chicken teriyaki to-go. I think this is a classic spot for sushi for the UCR students. Overall, staff are nice and the restaurant is clean.

It's been a while since we last visited, but we were not disappointed! The happy hour menu has fantastic selections, and considering the prices, the food is truly outstanding. I highly recommend you check it out. Very few places offer all-day happy hour on weekends--don't miss this opportunity, Service is wonderful very attentive, and the food is still warm when you receive, atmosphere is casual, but could also be cool for groups, chilling now or a date night.

I searched soo many sushi places around the IE for vegan options and finally I found something worthy to call itself having options ! I called to ask because I couldn't see any of the options on yelp menu photos and the lady listed ever single one over the phone ! And it was like 10 of them, alll vegan! When I arrived the seating was fast and I sat at the sushi bar. The service was soo kind, funny, and I could tell the workers liked being there they seemed like a family not just employees. I ordered three vegan sushi rolls but my fav was the Magoto! The restaurant was very spacious and clean. They aren't dog friendly (only service animals) nor is there outdoor seating but other than than I loved my experience & will be returning!

Service was pretty quick & everything tasted good! I had some lemon pepper salmon, gyoza & chicken fried rice. Big portion, everything tasted fresh. The sushi rolls are very large here.... Which isn't my favorite as they're difficult to eat. That's probably my only complaint. They have a HUGE menu. There's plenty to choose from. Private lot parking, restroom was clean. Ambiance was nice.

Cute local sushi place. Love having date night here with my boyfriend. Their happy hour menu is solid with good choices and great prices - also happy hour is 5-close! Like dang that's good. They have a bar, several flat screen TVs to watch games and a nifty bar. Definitely check out if you like good sushi.

Always good food, helpful staff. The happy ending roll is my favorite, hidden off spruce, plenty of parking!

The food and service were so good. Poo is delicious and service was on point. Very kind and friendly staff. The vibe of the location is very Calm. And very vibrant has a garden touch to it. I went for the happy hour menu and I fell in love with all the food. I got ramen pork belly bowl. Nigeri tiger roll. And a few other items and the whole family loved it totally recommend this spot. Great service and great food.

3 Item Bento Box Teriyaki Salmon, tempura, spicy tuna roll

Came here to celebrate a birthday lunch with my co workers. Is was a group of 7 of us, but thankfully the resturant was completely empty besides one other table of two. They sat us relatively quickly and our waitress was very nice for the most part. We ordered our dishes and hung out while we waited for our food and after about 20 minutes dishes started to arrive from out of the kitchen. After about 30 minuets all dishes made if from the kitchen besides mine. It seemed as if they forgot my dish all together. It probably took another 15 minuets for my food to come and by then my party was already done eatting. Despite that pretty big error on the kitchen my food overall was delicious. I got the bento box for about 20 dollars. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, fried tempura, and salmon teriyaki. For the dish alone it was about a 3.5 or maybe a 4. The salmon was a little dry and over cooked. However forgetting the dish and causing that long of a wait during an empty restuarnt is a bit on the careless side.

That is correct. There are four pieces out of the special rolls. Also, miso soup may not be included.

We chose to sit outside on the patio because it was less stuffy and loud versus sitting indoors. I ordered asada Cali fries and some other members of my party ordered beer, cocktails, taquitos and various tacos. Some friends selected al pastor as their protein for their tacos, and were informed that it was not available. Then we had an above average wait time for everything. We were told the kitchen was out of al pastor meat, so they would sub some tacos with asada/chicken/etc.. Then we were told the al pastor meat was located, and our orders were restored. Then I received my Cali fries with al pastor meat, which I had not ordered. I observed other members of our party wait for very inconsistent periods of time for beverages. I recall some receiving complicated cocktails before a canned domestic beer. The food and drinks were well enough, once it all arrived. We did not mind too much because we were all going out to another bar in downtown Riverside afterwards. My Cali fries had some strong papas because they held up to the ocean of melted cheese they were drowned in. It was more like a caldo. A couple members of the party had issues with their bills and our server was responsive to correcting any pricing issues. There is no longer merch, a mural, art or vinyl records for decor but the new owner assured us that they are working to have another local artist paint a new mural. An average experience, not bad! It was a good place to hang out and chat with friends, as we were not in any rush.

Tacos were again, average, with somewhat flavorless rice and beans. The highlight of the night was the service. Patrick at the bar was friendly and playful. The holiday cocktail was delicious. The flavor was delicious, and the tapioca pearls were the perfect consistency: sweet, soft, chewy, squishy, and perfectly sunken to the bottom the way good boba should be. To be totally honest, my husband and I had walked in and back out of this place several times before finally trying it. The inside is very dark, and with the huge screen right when you walk in combined with the dark floors and tables, it's not the most inviting atmosphere at first glance. It could probably use a remodel -- but honestly, if remodeling means raising the prices, please leave it exactly as it is.
