My son went here with friends for dinner the other night. While he was there I placed an online order for him to bring home to me. That all worked out perfectly. I was impressed with the quality of the fish, as well as the flavor. Tobiko with quail egg, mackerel, hamachi, all of it was great! The wakame was also really good. My bf and I were in town visiting and ordered take out to take to a friend's. The last time I was here, long long long ago before I loved it was Tex wasabi's and it closed. The sushi was ok, for the most part it was fresh, but the crab mixture was in almost everything we ordered and it was a bit much. To me it felt like they didn't know how to keep the the fish on top so they threw the crab mixture on and stick the fish to it. I do enjoy the crab, but it was too much, given that it is also imitation crab, it draws the flavor away. I could be bias also as I now live in Silicon Valley and we are spoiled with multiple varieties of food, but this take of sushi was not for me. I have to say, as of right now, this place is my go to for sushi. They have a whole page of vegetarian sushi rolls! We've tried a number of them and our favorite is the Fried Vege Roll and the Yamyam roll, the only one so far we didn't really care for was the Pickles Roll (and we like pickled things?!). Plenty of seating, no wait, good service - oh, did I mention robots bring the food out! The kiddo (and let's be honest, us, adults) thought this was pretty cool! I celebrated my birthday here and I couldn't have picked a better spot for dinner! We were seated quickly, there's indoor, outdoor, or bar seating. We sat outside which was fun to people watch on a Saturday night. They have a long menu but our waitress was able to recommend some rolls for us based on what we usually like. We ordered off her recommendations and they did not disappoint! We got one of the chef's specials which was the highlight of dinner. We ordered from Sushi Rosa for delivery and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The fish tasted fresh and was glad that they don't drown their rolls in too much sauce. Their poke rrito was the perfect ratio of rice to filling and the tako yaki didn't have octopus that's rubbery or overly chewy. I meant to order inari, but ordered the inari roll by accident and was not too happy about how little of the roll was actually the marinated tofu skin. I wasn't thrilled with that, but now I know to make sure that I look for the classic inari skin stuffed with rice instead. Overall a great dining experience despite being delivery. Sunday was the first time eating at Sushi Rosa downtown. It is a very nice place to go it was roomy it was for a Sunday busy saw the robot that gives you your food I sat at the Sushi Bar it sat maybe 7 there was a family to the left and a gentleman to my right. I ordered my sushi and had the Wakame and cucumber salad the flavor was very pleasant and very fresh. The Sushi on the other hand was the best I ever had in awhile fresh I had the usual wasabi and ginger plus they gave me fresh wasabi that was great never had it before. The food was delicious, very fresh, looked beautiful. The robot is a neat tool for delivering sushi. That's pretty cool. There was one server literally sprinting upstairs and downstairs to try to help everybody. On one hand, we didn't get the correct amount of silverware for the people at our table and didn't see our server for 15 minutes at a time. On the other hand, the poor lady was trying to run the whole ship herself. So based off of one person serving an entire two-level restaurant, it would be a seven Stars out of five. As far as my actual experience receiving service not so great. If I were to do this again I would just get my food to go. Also, I have no idea who picked the music or the volume for the music but both were a bad choice. It was the strangest loudest music. We had to yell to hear each other over the table. Terrible service and even worse food. Unfriendly staff and honestly the worst sushi I've had in a long time. Came in and didn't even get greeted for almost 10 minutes when there were only two other tables in the entire restaurant with people eating. I actually had to ask if we had a waiter. No apology, no intro, just cold and rude. The waitstaff didn't check on us a single time during our meal. I got a roll with soft shell crab that seemed like it had been sitting all day. Was terrible. Another "Japanese" restaurant that serves food that vaguely resembles Japanese food. The rice in my roll was mushy and the flavors were muddy. They offer two ramen choices, both listed as being Korean ramen. The broth was thin, nothing resembling a rich shoyu or tonkotsu broth. Fairly expensive, about $40 out the door. For one person. Tables are served by a small robot which rolls up to the table and instructs the diners to take their food. It was a slow Friday night so they allowed us to seat ourselves, it took a few minutes longer than ideal to be greeted by our server but as soon as she arrived I couldn't have been happier! Eliza was our server, and as a sever myself I can confidently say she provided some of the best service I've ever had. She has a permanent smile and fabulous menu knowledge. I couldn't decide on a roll but I told her I like something spicy and she picked the perfect roll for me, I wish I remembered the name but it was the very last roll in the last page. My partner was a huge fan of his roll as well which was one of her top recommendations, a very generous helping of fish. The miso and is definitely my top 2 I've ever had also, definitely recommend especially because they use a nice firm tofu. The most important thing I'd like to emphasize in my review is ELIZA's GREAT SERVICE!! I don't live in the area but I will be sure to stop here and ask for her any time I am here because having her as a server legitimately made my night better and I could not help but smile every time she came to us and Sushi Rosa is lucky to have her. Excited to see another sushi spot open up in this location! After the Wednesday Night Market my friend and I decided to check this place out. The menu is huge and includes pictures for every item which I love with sushi restaurants. We had eaten some at the market so we went with a baked salmon roll to share. The salmon was delicious, some of the best I've ever had! This roll was huge and messy, however, so definitely don't order it on a first date, haha! This place really has the vibes and potential for a fun night out, yet only serves beer and wine. We came here once before when visiting Santa Rosa for a music festival. Once again a delightful meal! The bento box was plentiful and very good! The spicy roll was super fresh and the perfect spicyness for my taste. Also had the salmon mango salad, a work of art and very fresh. Good service to boot. My friend and I have been wanting to try this restaurant (mainly because of the robot server). We went in on a Saturday night and they were slammed. The whole restaurant was full and they had several large groups. As I looked around I could not believe my eyes. Only 2 servers for the whole place. They had so much hustle to them and were going non stop. Normally we most likely would have just gone somewhere else. But we waited. Our server was amazing. Ashley was kind and checked on us often even though we could tell she was exhausted and going non stop. The food wasn't anything special. Their tempura had a slight taste of old oil to it and it was not completely crunchy (some soggy areas on most of the veggies). The miso soups was great. The salad was very very vinegary. I'm all about pickled items but the neon pickles were an odd addition. The rice and fish also were very good. The fish was fresh and flavorful. Sodas are in cans. Prices for individual items were quite high but the Bento box made being able to get sashimi reasonable. All in all I will probably not be back. If I was just rating on the hustle and kindness of the staff I would have given them 5 stars but with the quality of the food I took off 2 stars. read more

Stopped here on a Tuesday night and sat at the bar. I was greeted right away by the friendly staff. I ordered a cold sake and the Cherry Blossom roll. I added cream cheese to the roll because I love it in all sushi rolls. The roll didn't take long to prepare and the sake was delicious and smooth. The tuna was so fresh and tender that it melted in my mouth. It was absolutely delicious! I am visiting from Miami and I can tell how fresh that tuna is compared to the east coast. It's hard to put into words just how excellent this dining experience was. Let me do my Yelp thang. I had heard that there was a new sushi spot in town that had "robots," in the old Tex Wasabi location. Interesting enough, right? Well, I wrangled up my man and told him we were going to give it a shot. We had a 7pm reservation at a relatively new restaurant and were treated like kings, to put it simply. We ordered a round of sake and Sapphoro, and shortly thereafter asked for five of their signature rolls. YO. THEY SHOWED UP WITH A BOAT! Unbeknownst to us, all of our food was served in a wooden Titanic ship, all of which was aesthetically appealing in ways we couldn't even describe. I'm talking carved carrots and intricately placed ginger. The fish itself looked happy to be there. Now, let's get to the real deal: how was the actual sushi? Phenomenal. They literally said before we sat down that they serve real crab. That should have been the cue. Everything was fresh, rolled well, and full of flavor and texture that puts SushiRosa in a league of their own. In addition to top notch sushi, the service was impeccably prompt, kind and genuine. I'm still blown away by the beauty of it all. SushiRosa is making a name for themselves already, and I'm here for it. Downtown Santa Rosa has been looking for a revival, and this is exactly what we need. Good eats, good people and good vibes. Five stars, if not ten. read more

Wasn't able to experience the cool robot this time, but I was able to try some new items like the Roe Heaven (AMAZING!), the Red Mango roll (add on some Tobiko to make it extra perfect), the spicy hamachi hand roll, and the salmon teriyaki bento box w/ Shrimp tempura roll. I also tried the Raspberry lemonade soju cocktail drink (I forgot the exact name), which says it has 17% alcohol in it yet tastes just like a refreshing cup of lemonade (barely tasted ANY alcohol) - sooo good, I highly recommend!! Everything was so good that I bought some extra food to bring home for my family, and they gave us a free pack of hand wipes + some cool face masks as well! Heard there was a new place in town replacing the old Tex Wasabi. I placed an order for take out over the weekend. I ordered a Teriyaki chicken bento box, soft shell crab, avocado & cucumber rolls, and veggie udon. The food was tasteless and rough. The veggie udon was completely overcooked being that all the veggies was dumped into it and overly steamed in the hot soup. I would suggest leaving the veggies on the side (udon in the soup is fine) for take out. Wished it was better, good try. read more

They also had a robot server which I am not a fan of because it replaces real people. The ambiance was quiet. The restaurant is set up very trendy. It doesn't lend to bigger groups. All of the tables are for 4 people only. We had a group of 5 and they didn't have a way to add so that we could be more spaced out so we were quite cramped. Overall we enjoyed it. read more
