We went to check this place out , since we pass it all the time. We got some pretty basic rolls, some spicy garlic edamame and green tea , chicken veggies and rice bowl. I'll start off with the atmosphere it's a nice & cozy and very very small. And looks to be very well-kept and clean they had an A in the window. Our waitress was very nice but she was a bit scatterbrained running back-and-forth and the other waiter was running back-and-forth all the time too because they had a large party in the back they were attending to other than just us. After she took our order it , in think probably took over 30 minutes to get our food . So by now were really hungry . Food shows up ,it lacked flavor. The rolls were fair compared to its price . If you big on customer service, don't go here. Firstly I am a small business owner & in the sales industry, so I wanted to support the small businesses. Went here with my girlfriend to eat, was just going to get drinks, ordered 2 saki's then waitress wanted to know what type of saki? We just looked at each other to ask the types she had and she told us about the one we asked for and just walked away without saying anything. Flagging her down after 10 min(btw, there was only us and one other couple in the restaurant) she took our order at which I said 'ni how'(hello in Chinese), she rudely said I'm not Chinese,(btw she is wearing a mask) so I said 'Konichiwa'( hello in Japanese)and she said that is hello, at which I knew she was Japanese so said Ganki Deska( thank you in Japanese)and she just stared at me in a deep gaze rudely and walked away. Like I said I'm in sales and have been for over 20 years, I like to greet a person in their native tongue, it's shows respect, she obviously didn't think so. *Listen, some advice(btw she could of been the owner) if your whole industry depends on customer service, give 100% or go get another job, no one goes out to eat only to get their dinner served by someone very rude and you are making a bad impression on the rest of the servers. I come here occasionally for sushi since it's close by and has reasonable prices throughout their whole selection. Haven't had a day where I was ever disappointed since I been coming here for over a year now too. It's a small local owned restaurant with a comfortable and relaxing environment. My usual and recommended choice of sushi are the Hungry roll, Volcano roll, and Scallop Roll. All three are great but the Hungry roll has the best texture and flavor in my opinion. Sushi is definitely GREAT! Very fresh! Expensive but certainly the money worth for. But other items: i.e. Tempura, Cutlet, not so great... Cutlets must be from freezer. Meat was thin and hard. They reusing oil so much or the oil temperature was too hot, they were DARK Brown. They were hard to chew as it was so hard... Also, they drenched with sauce. Sauce on the side will be better. Love coming here during lunch hour!!!! Just up the street from work, always well taken care of! Fast great service despite it being busy bc of the freshness they provide the customers with! My favorites are the rainbow roll with this delicious lemony sauce! The star wars roll is good, popular and the edamame with spicy garlic sauce is amazing!!! Its so hard to find sushi places that have everything I like...the perfect ambience, delicious food and amazing customer service. From the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted with nice smiles and they made us feel so comfortable. I'm always hesitant to try new sushi places because they're either really bad or mediocre. I only have one favorite sushi place but it's in LAS VEGAS! I'm so happy to say I've found another favorite place so close by! I'm a snob when it comes to the decor and feel of a restaurant. The good can be amazing, but if it's too bright in there of the decor is outdated or ugly, I don't enjoy myself. This place has a modern look, brick walls, super clean and the lighting is a bit dim, just perfect. The waiters were so attentive in filling our drinks as soon as they were low, clearing plates and keeping our table clean at all times. It almost felt like I was dining in a 5 star restaurant in Beverly Hills. Angie, who I'm assuming is the owners wife, was super sweet. She even walked us all the way to the door when we left. The owner himself brought to the table a couple of samples of pickled cucumbers, which were sooo good. We had the LOVE LOVE ROLL and the MEXICAN ROLL. If you like spicy, I highly recommend ordering them. The LOVE LOVE roll had no rice, great for those watching their carb intake. Usually no rice rolls aren't that great but this was full of flavor, didn't make you miss the rice at all. I'll definitely be coming back!! Can't wait to try the rest of the stuff on their menu. My husband ordered the 3-item dinner special and added a side order of sashimi. The amount of food was good and the bill came out to be less than $35. Not bad. They were all delicious but the ones I enjoyed the most were the Washington roll and Star Wars roll. There was another one I liked a lot but unfortunately forgot the name. Additionally, the yellowtail nigiri and salmon kama were fantastic. A solid sushi joint with a great vibe. We ordered the Love Love, the Mexican, a lettuce roll and seared salmon sashimi and white fish sashimi. The Love Love fell flat on flavour...very bland and kinda tasted as if the tuna had been frozen. The Mexican was DELICIOUS: beautifully presented and bursting with flavour with just a little bit of heat. The seared salmon sashimi was equally delicious. I don't know what dollop of deliciousness was on each piece but this was hands down the best salmon sashimi I've ever had! The lettuce roll was good...nothing special but not disappointing. Monday, Tuesday are typically slower days for sushi restaurants so the service was quick. Their Korean Halibut special was amazing. First time I had korean halibut, great flavor and texture. Their sashimi sampler appetizer was perfect and priced perfectly. I think 8 pieces for 9.50. Planning on getting that again when we go back. Superman, Star Wars and Garlic Albacore rolls were ridiculously good, extremely tasty and dressed up nicely. For those who don't know of this place, this sushi spot is a gem. As with most restaurants the more customers they have to serve the longer the wait. But it is well worth it. read more

I am honestly pretty dumbfounded by the fact that this awesome sushi place is tucked away so far north up in Azusa! I just popped in for a Chirashi bowl which is usually my strategy to gauge the general fish quality. What the heck.... the fish is super high quality, totally fresh, very nice cuts, and there was even uni to boot. The price was also reasonable. Totally surprised by this unassuming sushi place in a clearly not so sushi friendly area (more power to them). The waitress who I think was also the owner was so nice and even gave me a free miso soup. All smiles and super attentive. Definitely impressed and I can be pretty snobbish with my sushi. read more

I'm not sure I can find the words to do this place justice but I haven't been this ecstatic, elated, or satisfied since losing my virginity in the backseat of a 2007 Acura TL on prom night in high school. Every piece of sushi was so fresh it almost brought tears to my eyes. The staff made me feel like I was sitting in their dining room and a part of their family.
