My first visit to this location was on a rainy afternoon. Our server was very accommodating and our sushi was really fresh and delicious. They had a limited lunch menu, however you could order off the very large dinner and drink menu. I had a JB roll and a tuna roll. My friend ordered a combo of sushi and a half California roll. This is located in a new shopping center and parking was easy. Prices were normal for a sushi restaurant. The only issue was the limited outdoor seating. There were several 2 person tables outside, however the overhang did not keep the rain off. We would have preferred to eat outside as indoors was quite crowded and tables were close together. They upcharge it for everything even when you downgrade. It's like flying on Spirit when you eat here everything costs extra. Need some Sriracha extra charge. Yet another Thai sushi joint. Years ago, it was much better under the original ownership. The theme with these places is similar, in that they over charge, under deliver, and nickel and dime you to death. I ordered some hand and maki rolls. The maki rolls were very small in diameter with very little fish. The hand rolls were worse. They arrived at my table unrolling and falling apart. I wish I took a photo. The roll was only half full from the top. I was able to fold it in half. The bottom of the nori was empty. Lastly, the seaweed salad we ordered was so small, we laughed. My wife asked for a side of some spicy mayo and we were charged .75. It's not the money, it's the gall of these Thai joints. Been coming here since their old location across the parking lot. The new spot is beautiful and the staff is always friendly and courteous. I love that they always have really fresh sashimi especially the salmon selection is always on point! Definitely my go to place in Boynton Beach for sushi. They also are really good to go. Used to be my Favorite place for Sushi. Haven't been there in 3 yrs. Things have completely changed. Quality of fish is average at best. Prices of rolls jumped from $15/roll to $22/roll. Also, they charged me for Eel sauce, charge for spicy mayo sauce, charge for hot sauce, and charge for fee jalapeños. When I asked the manager why all these charges, basically said this is what it is "it's on the Menu, do you want me to show you". I said "that's ok. I'll pay for it but not coming back again". She said "OK" Wow , not only the quality of food has gone down, doubled prices and charging for sauces, but no customer service. Only reason I give 2 stars and not 1 because our waitress was good. Well let me start by saying that if it weren't for covid you most probably wouldn't get a table at this place. I relied on Yelp reviews before I tried Simon and boy am I glad I did. I've been to many Japanese/sushi restaurants and this place blows them away. Atmosphere is nice the wait staff is running around trying to get to everyone. The Miso soup was probably the hottest I've ever had. Usually miso comes out lukewarm and you eat eat fast so it doesn't get cold. The two rolls I had were just delicious. One was a dum dum. Someone recommended it on Yelp and they were spot on. The other roll was sexy Tuna? Went here for lunch today. Wow, what a disappointment!! The lunch menu was presented to us only after we asked for it. We were hungry, so got a lunch special, which was for 3 rolls. The little bowl of soup and the little salad were very ordinary. The 3 rolls were tiny, and had 4 pieces each. The ingredients inside the rolls were hard to find, and filled mostly with rice. Please take note of the 5 stars. I mean it with all my heart. It's definitely a very little hole in the wall, minimal seating, but there is indoor/outdoor seating. I'm skipping straight to food. Place ain't cheap. But it's worth it. We got 3 of the special sashimi. They thinly slice the fish, and layer it into a circle on top of a sauce of your choice. We got the salmon over Tokyo sauce. Sweet with a hint of wasabi. Then the queen snapper morimoto style. It's a sweet and tangy brown sauce. And finally.... The strawberry grouper morimoto style too. Holy moly guacamole!! It was insane. All of them were, but this one was my favorite. Super fresh fish, buttery, and the sauce was a perfect compliment. We also got the dum dum roll which was insanely good. And another roll which I don't remember the name but it had this spicy mayo sauce in the middle (please see pics I posted). It. Is. Expensive. Just throwing that out there. So fresh! So delicious. They are open and are respecting social distance norms, but takeout is my go to. The sashimi deluxe was a nice mix of premium fish (no mackerel here) including belly salmon today. There is a secret menu and all I can say is you will not be Dumb if you order the Dum Dum roll. For about a year now I've been on a mission to find a go-to sushi spot. After many failed attempts I've finally found the perfect place, Sushi Simon. The inside is small, quaint and comfy. Service was friendly and on their A game. Each roll was super fresh and flavorful with both the JB Deluxe Roll and the South Beach Roll being stand outs. When asked of they had sweet tea I was told they have sweetened green tea. Never tried it before but it's now my new favorite beverage. I decided to give these guys abother chance amd i have to say that i have found that sushi simon seems to overcharge as the rule. Last time here they over charged me nearly $40 plus. Today came in to order some i just needed some masago-smelt eggs. And the lady seemed totally haggard and just overall run down amd confused by my request. She then ran around and got aome orders came back to me 10-min later and advised ot would be $6.42 for a sushi order of masago and i asked really for some smelt eggs? She replied somewhat confused that yes sense it was a special order and all i then see that this is actually on the menu for $5.00 and just shake my head. So tje rule here it seems is to simply overcharge and not respond when called on it or simply just ignore ot worked last time..... So way overpriced, poor service, decent quality from what i could see though i thought i saw store bought salmon being prepped for sushi but i couodnt be sure? In any event I will not be coming here again for any reason due to being overcharged not once bit twice and no one caring to follow up like they promissed. Just tried to have dinner there. After an hour and a half 5 of the 6 of us got their food. I never got mine. Excuses ,excuses. Waitress never admitted she forgot to put in my order. Manager yelled that it was our fault until another waitress admitted it was their fault. No apology and they still added 20% tip on the bill. With that service I never would have given 20%. It's a shame because the food was good but none of us would ever go back because the customer is never right there. read more

I love the food but was very disappointed with service. I ordered a large cold sake, $11 on the menu. The server says we have an excellent bottle, I said sure. The bill comes and the bottle was $150. Restaurant is kinda small and always loud when I go in to pick up take out. Has a nice dark atmosphere that fits more of an old school sushi restaurant. The rolls are kinda small for the basic ones but good in taste. The Miso soup has the right flavor and not super salty so don't forget to order that if you visit. Personally I like to give 3 1/2 because the food is quite good, but I wouldn't say it's exceptional especially for the price. Be careful if you order takeout from any Sushi Simon online. I ordered takeout and it was a lot more expensive that the online prices. Unfortunately I have done this twice now but a year or so apart. When I paid my bill I asked why it was so high compared to online and the woman told me we don't have a website or online menu and walked away.
