Having heard good things about this place from coworkers, when we had an hour to kill before a show it seemed a decent option. Yeah, no... So when most of the menu items and rolls are built around fake crab and steamed shrimp, I should have known. Should have seen the signs warning me of a subpar evening ahead... When the entire specials menu says MP or "ask us" that should have been a sign that the restaurant is going to cost you as if they are really proud to overcharge... Imagine how you'd feel finding out that they offer the same quality of rolls you'd find at the Publix fish counter... But here I am... Sushi Simon has really cute decor and a wall of framed local magazine covers promoting themselves so I fell for the hype and decided to sit down and have a meal. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but service here is decidedly not what anyone would call fast. It wasn't until AFTER we had ordered that the server told us they were only serving bluefin tuna tonight so anything with tuna in it would be $2 higher than listed, but it's just a couple bucks, let's do it. Unfortunately, the presentation far outweighed the execution. Rolls were tasteless, rice was gummy, and the "5 special sauces" just tasted like honey, ketchup, and mayo. Do yourself a favor, go pretty much anywhere else and get better sushi at a more affordable price.

When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, there was only one other patron dining so we had our pick of seats. The interior is dark wood with ample lighting and large floor to ceiling windows that let in more light. We recved the menus and were told they only had lunch specials during the week and that there was a $3 surcharge for any dish that contained bluefin tuna. The menu is not inexpensive but we decided to stay and try their fare. We each ordered a small plate of 6 pc sushi and shared a roll. Although the surcharge thing left me irritated, I will acknowledge that all of the sushi was exceptionally fresh and properly sized portions. In the end, it was an expensive but very tasty lunch. Will go back but likely during the week. Suggest incorporating surcharge into price.

Great sushi. The sushi seemed fresh, and the selection of rolls were good. The sushi is a bit on the pricey and they only had the more expensive Tuna when we went. We had 4 people, and one person didn't even get sushi and our bill came out to $300. Would give it another try but overall pretty average.

There are many sushi places around town, but this one was unique and not because of the menu but because of a great team that takes care of you at this sushi restaurant. We joined our friends who are regulars, and we sat and were taken care of by Megan, who knew everything our friends would order, and she made some amazing suggestions of items. We went with all Megan suggested, including Thier special Miso soup with cut dumplings and tofu in it, side salads, and steamed gyoza and edamame. Each was a great start to our meal. Then, the staff stopped off and dropped off many of the rolls we ordered. We shared a No Name roll, Very Sexy Hamachi roll, and Ocean Ridge Roll. This place had inside and outdoor seating, and the staff made us feel at home. Differently a place we will be back to have a wonderful meal!

Great food! Sushi roll I got was great. Had the perfect ratio of crunchy, cooked, fried yummyness on the seaweed and the rawness of the sushi. There is good service and the employees are very kind. The atmosphere was small but cozy, I like it a lot. I would definitely come back!

Gotta say - I haven't been impressed the past couple times I've been here. The sushi is decent but the prices just keep soaring without any extra bang for your buck. We waited a long time for water refills (pet peeve) and make sure you bring an extra .75 for spicy mayo. If you need a close sushi spot to satisfy a craving, give it a whirl but if you have time to seek out a better option, I would.

Went to sushi Simon with a friend, the food was good however, expensive for the portion size. Unfortunately, being a vegetarian there weren't many options to choose from and with the items available, I was unable to get substitutions. The food I did get, the spring rolls, I enjoyed, they were served warm. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza that gets packed. So finding parking can be difficult at times.

My first time having sushi that I actually enjoyed eating!! The experience was like no other. The servers were super nice and accommodating. Indoor seating felt so homey, clean, and relaxing. 11/10 experience, would and will definitely come back again. I highly suggest ordering the SUPER CRUNCH ROLL! You won't be disappointed, trust!

The food was delicious - 3 of us had the fish and chips and we all loved it. Done perfectly - and the fish was fresh and moist. The reason for a 4 and not a 5 is two fold. The prices are a bit high. But I guess the location can get the higher prices. The other was where we were seated. We were outside but near a metal ramp. The work staff repeatedly came by with metal carts and made no attempt to go up the ramp slowly or quietly. The clanging was loud enough to stop our conversation every time. The setting, like all South FL Intracoastal restaurants, is lovely. It's very nice. You can sip a drink and watch boats go by. It's just a bummer that many of these picturesque places seem to skate by on their location. Prime Catch is SO expensive. I looked over the whole menu. I mean, we all know lobster rolls are pricy, but $46 is a bit much, and the $65 NY Strip is the same price as Ruth's Chris Strip, and I know Ruth's steak is better. Baby zucchini fries were ok, but the batter was overcooked. I did like the aioli topping. The calamari alla vodka was an interesting idea, but the rings weren't hot or crispy enough. The tentacles were good, and I asked for extra when I placed the order, but the bartender said it's pre-portioned and you can't do that. Disappointing. The bartender was competent and nice, and the drinks were decent. It's pretty and it's fine. Just bring a fat wallet and don't expect gourmet food.

Better Than Ever -- and I Didn't Think That Was Possible…read more I'll be honest -- when I heard J&J Seafood Bar and Grill on Atlantic Avenue had changed hands, my heart sank a little. I was a devoted fan under the previous owners and couldn't imagine it getting better. I was so, so wrong. The new owners haven't just maintained what made this place special -- they've elevated it into something truly remarkable. The moment you walk in, you feel it. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and alive in a way that makes you want to linger. They've created a space that feels like a genuine gathering place, and that's a rare thing to find. Now, the food. I ordered the mixed seafood grill, and it was simply spectacular -- fresh, beautifully prepared, and cooked with real care. Each bite reminded me why seafood on the coast should taste like this. And just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, the turtle cheesecake arrived for dessert. Absolutely divine. Rich, indulgent, and the perfect finish to an already perfect meal. And then there's Chelsea. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely delightful -- the kind of person who makes you feel like a regular from the moment you sit down. She perfectly embodies the spirit the new owners have created here. To my fellow South Florida neighbors -- whether you're in Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, or Deerfield Beach -- do yourself a favor and get in here now while the off-season means you can actually snag a table. This gem on Atlantic Avenue is the real deal, and once word fully gets out, you're going to wish you hadn't waited. J&J, you've made a lifelong regular out of me all over again.

The husband-and-wife owners are clearly hands-on... stopping by tables, checking in with guests, and keeping a watchful eye on everything. It's obvious they care and truly want you to have a great time here. I called for a reservation and it was basically sold out... when they said they could take me at 5pm, I grabbed it. Was actually perfect as I was heading over to see the tennis tournament after dinner. On arrival, the place was empty. As expected, when we left, it was completely full. A half bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay was perfect with my lobster. The wine list isn't extensive, but it's well chosen and fairly priced. The food was excellent across the board. A special of Scallops, Crab Cake, topped with Shrimp over Vegetables was fantastic. My guest enjoyed the Clams Oreganata. I loved my Baked Stuffed Lobster (stuffed with crab), served with amazing Mashed Potatoes... and bonus points for a real hand towel after the lobster. Of course, I had to try the key lime pie... very good. Now I understand why this casual, unassuming spot is so popular... it hits on every note. I noticed a bunch of regulars dining at the bar, which looked perfect to me. The bar is walk-in only... so next time I don't have dinner plans, I'll remember I can just walk in and try for a seat. I'm sure I'll see two familiar faces... the owners, Anthony and Christine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
