These were soooo good! They just opened about 3 weeks ago. The rolls were flavorful and fresh. The staff was so kind. Chef Jacky was amazing and funny. I love that this place is open late. Definitely a bonus. Go and visit them if you love sushi!!!

Fish was very fresh. We came during happy hour on a Friday night and each roll was only $9.99. Great deal. We'll definitely come back.

    Best sushi ever!

Amazing and fresh sushi! We love Chef Jacky and Jaylene. We used to go their restaurant in Azusa and just came out to their new location in Orange because it's that good!!!!! Our favorite rolls- Jessica, Salmon Lover, Baja California, and the King Crab!

I have never had a negative experience eating here. I'm sat as quickly as possible, and my water arrives immediately. There is no question about this. It does not matter how many friends I bring, we will have our waters when we sit down, no issue. Kim and Dulce were a dynamic duo, taking care of our every need without us even needing to ask. Refills on water and checking in on us after we finished a round of sushi, they were on top of everything. Not for a moment did we feel like we were a second thought in this restaurant, even though we were in the corner of the outside patio! I've never had a bad experience here, but Kim and Dulce really made us feel welcome in my dining experience tonight, and we absolutely have to harp on them again. They were fantastic! The food was amazing, the service was quick, and we'll be coming back whenever we are in the mood for sushi! There's nowhere else we'd rather go in the orange circle!

I made reservations so we could get the premium set. It was our first time, so not sure what to expect. The reservation for seating wasn't needed as the tables were mostly empty but the reservation was needed to make sure the omakase was available. There was no sushi bar seating, so the omakase came out all at once instead of a piece by piece experience. That's fine. Oddly though, the waiter did not explain which fish each piece was, but the sushi chef James told us at the end of the meal that the waiter was new and Chef James then explained the fish himself. Weird backwards experience but every one was kind and well-meaning. The quality of the fish in the nigiri was exceptional. Some of the best I've had in the area considering how close it is located to competitors like Ooshima and Kaigen etc. The fish all came dressed, which was to be expected. It was all pretty delicious except it was all just a little bit sweet for my taste.. I prefer more savory, salty, or lemony. That being said, the quality made up for the preference in taste which could easily be remedied with some soy sauce, ponzu, lemon, etc. The bite of Wagyu nigiri was genuinely the best wagyu I've ever had. We also tried the mussels and agedashi tofu for hot appetizers. Would 100% recommend either dish. Overall, happy with the experience as wifey was a happy birthday girl. We did not have room to try any regular rolls so I cannot comment on that. The one negative thing I will say is to absolutely skip the handrolls - any of them. The machine compacted rice made a roll that should be delicate feel mishandled and ruined the texture/experience of that roll. That being said, will definitely be coming back again for some more of the best quality nigiri in the area.

The food still tastes just as good as before. They've changed the menu slightly but my go-to rolls are still there. The waitress was very helpful in introducing us to the new ordering system, and we worked out the kinks pretty quickly. We came in at around 2pm on a Friday, so ordering was quick and the food came out just as fast. I saw some people coming in wanting to order a la carte, but the waitress said they weren't able to do that at the moment. I know this might be a rough transition to a new system so I hope people will give them a chance to figure it out. Overall, the food is still great and I'm happy I can try some of their sides I've been wanting to try, but now it comes with all the rolls that I can double and triple order! I'm sure their new ordering system will be streamlined over time and I hope their AYCE transition will be a successful one.

My husband and I have regularly gotten take out from here for years. We love it! The four-piece…read moreroll option is great for tasting a variety of rolls. However, something has really changed in the last few months for the worst. The last two times we've ordered take out, there have been huge delays and quality issues. Last night was the final straw. Myself and several other patrons were waiting over an hour for our to go food. Apparently the owner has instructed the chefs to exclusively prioritize in person diners and ignore the tickets for to go food. We also all got texts saying our order was ready - when it hadn't even been made yet. We waited well over an hour after getting the "food is ready" text and arriving. Even after we asked multiple times about our order, the chefs just didn't make it. They were clearly focused on the in person diners only, per the owner's instructions. The poor wait staff were very kind and trying to help, but ultimately their hands were tied. I'm not sure if it is because of this new AYCE concept or if they have new management...but this problem needs to be addressed. Not to mention, the quality of the rolls has also seemingly gone down. I really want this place to remain our go-to sushi spot. I just don't know if it can be unless something changes.

Food is delicious & price is reasonable. Service was quick & attentive. My daughter wants to come here for her birthday (her favorite place). We ordered Double Baked Salmon ($16), Caliente ($18). Caliente is my daughter's absolute favorite. She will order this plate every single time we go. Sunkist ($16) Double Albacore ($16) Popcorn crawfish ($8). All were excellent except Popcorn Crawfish (mostly just the fried batters) After we finished our food, the birthday celebration begins. Light was dimmed, up beats birthday song on the speaker. The waitresses came to our table to give the bday girl a build in lighted paper flower crown to wear on her head while clapping & singing a birthday song. They also brought a plate of Green Tea flavor fried mochi ice cream with candle. The Mochi ice cream was so so good & it's free. It was so special. What a nice surprise! Since then, we have been back many times, especially on our birthdays. Thank you Heemo & staffs for the great experience. We will see you soon

Once the whole party was seated & our order was taken, we received our delicious ginger salad and miso soup quickly. When our chef arrived he was ready to put on a show! The filet mignon is definitely worth it but if you prefer more meat, the sumo steak is the way to go. 3.5/5 Stars - Nice Experience, But Some Service and Timing Issues…read more We visited Tabi-Ji Teppanyaki for my husband's birthday and had an overall decent experience, though there were a few things that would make us think twice before returning. We chose the dining room seating rather than the teppanyaki tables. The staff did offer us the teppanyaki experience, but since we don't eat red meat or chicken from certain places and weren't sure how the food preparation process worked with mixed ingredients, we opted for a regular table instead. One downside was the seating arrangement. We were seated away from most of the other guests, and it often felt like the staff forgot we were there. Our original host/server was attentive and friendly, but once they were busy with other tasks, it became difficult to get assistance. It was also not busy for a Tuesday evening. We found ourselves waiting for long periods or having to wave someone down, which wasn't ideal, especially for a birthday dinner. As for the food: * Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5): Fresh, good quality fish, and a generous portion. A solid sushi roll. * Garlic Edamame (4/5): Flavorful and exactly what you'd expect from a good appetizer. * Lobster Duo with Miso Soup, Salad, and Fried Rice (3/5): Unfortunately, the lobster was quite chewy and seemed overcooked. The miso soup and fried rice were both enjoyable and helped make up for it. * Unagi Donburi (4/5): My husband's meal came with white rice, miso soup, salad, and fried rice. It was his first time trying eel, and he really enjoyed the soft texture and flavor. He said he'd definitely order it again. Our biggest disappointment was the timing of the food. The Unagi Donburi arrived significantly later than everything else. By the time it came out, we had already eaten most of the appetizers and other dishes and were pretty full. It's unfortunate because it seemed like a dish that would have been much better enjoyed fresh, but we ended up taking most of it home. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, and being able to reserve through Resy and use our Amex dining benefit definitely helped offset the cost. However, considering the price point, we expected more attentive service and better pacing of the meal.
