Definitely needs improvement on the details. The price point is that of a higher end sushi joint, with the average specialty roll averaging 20 dollars, both service, attention to detail, and sushi quality can be improved upon. The "order and pay by phone " trend should not be in a restaurant of this price point. Although fresh fish and good combination of ingredients make good rolls, finding a lipstick smudged glass, a chipped plate, repeating a request multiple times and lack of attention makes this Leander sushi place a place I'd be excited to come back if and only if management pays better attention to service and details. read more

So first off shoutout to Leander for having such a cool and beautiful spot! I went in on a Monday for lunch so it wasn't too busy but the staff was beyond polite and attentive from start to finish. I was able to get two speciality rolls for $24 with their lunch special and I also ordered the crudo cause why not! The presentation of the food was beautiful and the taste was there to match! The fish was so fresh and delicious. Only giving it a 4/5 cause I feel like the price can add up pretty quickly. Overall, I'm so happy I was able to find a great sushi spot so close to me! I will definitely be coming back to try more rolls! read more

Prior to coming to Sushi to the Moon, I read the reviews of it being overpriced. But I was willing to try it because it's close to where I live. Now I understand why these reviews are indicating "overprice". All I can say is QUALITY exceeds quantity and what I mean by that is the quality of the fish. Melt in your mouth buttery fish. Not that previously frozen taste of fish. Some of these reviews are comparing it to mediocre sushi restaurants that basically gunk their rolls in sauce to hide the flavor of the fish. Yes, I can tell the difference and this place delivers quality. So the price matches what you are paying for. We got the spicy edamame, bluefin tuna belly sashimi, and Napa Valley Roll. I wanted to take off one star because the server forgot to put in our appetizers so our actual rolls came in before our appetizer. From the looks of it I think the server was a new server with little experience. But the manager stepped in and was so kind to take over which saved our dinner experience and we still tipped 25% because we use to be servers in college. The ambiance is so clean, cute, and airy. I will definitely be back to try their udon noodles and other menu items. read more

Food is great for both visits. Service is where I deduct points. We ordered two rolls and one chirashi don, the rolls arrive in 15 mins and the chirashi don took almost another 30mins. We ordered through QR code and seating at the bar, the food are not arrive in a go. They did apologized after we asked and after they apologize, we still wait for 20mins as they were making other tables orders. I just don't understand if they care about our complaint or the sequence they serve food based on some logic I don't understand... . Even the first visit was great, the 2nd visit left a very bad impression. If you are not in a rush , it's a sushi place worth visiting. read more

First time trying this restaurant and OMG amazing food. A must try. The staff is amazing from server to cook etc. They have only been open for 5 days, so this was a soft opening. Very limited menu. What they have is good. Service very good. Price is higher than it should be. Especially while just starting up. We're extremely educated with good sushi. If they provide a fair price for the food and grow the menu to "Typical" sushi staples, I believe this restaurant will be standing room only in six months. I booked a Valentine's dinner weeks in advance. Mind you .. we have two kids and we're having our first date night in months. Even with a reservation they sat us at a community table and we were shoulder to shoulder with other couples. I kindly asked the hostess if we could have our own table since there were plenty of open single tables. I also explained our situation hoping she would be at least somewhat sympathetic to it. She was very short and told me no, they were pre selected. I let her know I booked well in advance and there was not a single table or community table option when booking. She acknowledged this and kept telling me it is what it is. A couple right after me came in and received a single table so I asked her if they requested that somehow and she told me no, it's randomly selected. Very very strange and rude to not accommodate when I'm looking over at least 5 open tables. Very disappointed with their customer service. Not to mention we come here regularly and have supported their business since they've opened. I guess loyalty doesn't matter here. Be kind and respectful to your customers in the future, please. read more

Overall, it's a great place to eat fresh sushi in the area. However, I would not order sea urchin there. The server recommended it, and I told her that I am very picky and it must be very fresh. Of course, they never tell us that something is not fresh. EXTREMELY disappointed. It was edible, but not fresh. Please educate the server when a customer says they are very picky about the freshness of a certain food (especially sea urchin) to consult the chef. Maybe she just assumed that I wouldn't know the difference based on my look. I am Japanese who was born and grew up there. FOOD: Started our meal with gyoza which was so delicious. I've never seen gyoza come out like that before with the thin layer of crust over them, very creative ,That crunch was amazing. Excellent spot and great sushi! They are still in their soft opening so the menu is somewhat limited, but still good. It's on the pricey side. Our rolls were $18-$28. My only true complaint is that there is no hot sake. That's huge for me and would make me choose another sushi spot over this one in order to have hot sake with my sushi. 12/10 best sushi in the area. I probably get sushi to the moon 3x per month sometimes more. The fish is quality so outstanding. The rolls are unique and have wonderful complimenting flavors. The hamachi lover roll it's my go to. Hamachi toro and sake toro nigiri is incredible. Such a great addition to an area that sort of lacks good sushi. I drive in from Georgetown frequently and can't stop raving about this place. They even have kizami wasabi. That's how you know this place is legit. I was excited to try this new sushi restaurant in the neighborhood with high ratings, but was disappointed by the mediocre quality. The service was somewhat inadequate, but with only two servers for ten parties at the time, it was understandable. However, I understand that this is a newly opened restaurant and staffing can be improved over time. The chair I sat on was wobbly... that's unexpected for a newly opened restaurant, especially at this price point. I don't mean that one of the legs was short or the floor was uneven, I really mean that the joints were loose. I don't know what to make of it, but it did not impact my review. My major concern was the sushi rice, which was stiff in the baked roll, normal-temperature roll, and nigiri I ordered. This could have been due to the wrong rice selection or improper preparation. Since it affected all three rice-related items, it is unlikely an isolated incident, at least for today. The lion king roll was served quickly and not hot enough, which negatively impacted the taste, texture, and aroma. The taste was okay, but far from great, and there is definitely room for improvement. The nigiri and the other roll were also mediocre due to the poor quality of the rice, and their tastes were also not remarkable. The rock shrimp tempura was an unexpected dish, as it was more like Chinese restaurant's walnut shrimp, but with smaller shrimps and without the walnuts. Although it tasted good, it felt misleading. In conclusion, the prices are reasonable for above-average to high-quality sushi, but the quality unfortunately is lacking. read more

I have visited other places, cheaper places, where the quality of the food didn't even get close to this Sushi to the Moon's. So yes, although it's expensive, I promise you it's worth every penny. The place is super clean, the AC is better than mine (LOL), so during Summer it was a fresh experience.
