Oh Totto. You're not in Kansas anymore! With sushi and other inspired dishes this good, you wouldn't think you were Utah anymore either. Sushi is exceptional. Decent value. Tried to call and order takeout. The phone rang busy for over an hour... I think I tried calling 30 different times till I decided to just drive to the restaurant and order take out there. When I got there, 3 different frustrated customers were waiting in line for the exact same issue. No one helped me when arriving and I was probably sitting in line for over 20 minutes before finally being helped. After finally ordering, the waitress told me it would be ready in an hour and a half?!?! In what world does take out take that long.... I decided to head back home and wait an hour and a half to get my food and when I returned it was clear that the food had been sitting there for awhile... I know this because I ordered a deep fried roll and it was soggy.... they said they would call if it got done sooner but never did so the sushi tasted old and gross and the service was AWFUL! wouldn't recommend going here if you are looking for good service and yummy rolls. read more

I like sushi, I like tea, Sushi Totto is the place for me. The yakisoba is excellent! The Kimchi is the best I've had in this area. If you like alcohol, the Mango Sake is to die for. Our new favorite sushi spot! Atmosphere is clean and inviting. The combination of smooth 80's and 90's music and the Golf Channel on the TV's had me feeling right at home. The top 2 horrible restaurant ever. I ordered Ramen noodle which has 3 piece of meat. Two pieces of the meat are all fat. This is disgusting. I asked for server to exchange the meat and she said yes. This spot is fairly new, but wow is their food good! The atmosphere doesn't feel very Japanese, until you walk to the back where they have special private tables that you can reserve. They are low so you sit on the floor and your feet go into the hollowed out portion under the table. We ordered sushi and a salmon poké bowl. At first we thought the waitress was slow getting to us, and she was, but after that she was very attentive and eager to get us whatever we wanted, and happy to answer questions. This was my second time here in the past month and both times it was EXCELLENT!!! We ordered the Mars, Golden California, and Sunshine all on soy paper. They were seriously amazing. I live in Sandy, and normally go to Tsunami which is great but I honestly think Sushi Totto is even better. I'm sad I don't live closer! I would be here every day! We went to try out their poke bowls. Last time we ate here it was a lot smaller and we only got sushi. They expanded so their is a lot more seating. Even little private Asian type tables with half curtains and you sit down low and your feet go into a hole under the table. Their sushi was really good but their poke bowls were amazing! I quite enjoyed their sushi. It tasted way more fresh to me than the sushi at Sakura. The rolls were bigger and the flavors were better. The combinations were interesting. Their Vegas roll is worth checking out if you like fried rolls. I would choose this over Sakura any day. My parents, loyal Sakura customers, would disagree. Yay more yummy sushi places in Northern Utah. My husband and I stopped by Totto hoping to fulfill a sushi craving, and we were not disappointed. We were lucky enough to snag a Tatami room. I've never sat in the traditional Japanese style seating, but I really loved how it added to the meal experience. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, Avocado bomb, and my husband ordered the X-Men roll. Service was a little slow, but our servers were kind, and honestly I'll be patient for good food. The ramen was huge and so delicious with a nice soft cooked egg. I loved the broth! I was a little "meh" on the roll my husband ordered, but only because I'm not fond of deep fried sushi. The real star of the meal was the Avocado bomb. This appetizer is layered crab and tuna topped with avocado and a creamy sauce. I'm pretty sure Totto is an extension of Osaka Sushi in Layton, and Osaka is easily my favorite sushi joint in Davis County. There are more menu options at Totto including Poke, appetizers, and Japanese Tapas. I'll admit that the menu is a bit pricey, however I do think you get what you pay for. I ate at Sushi Totto in December and have been thinking about their yummy Ramen ever since. I've eaten Ramen in many places in the western US and Sushi Totto is among the best. We were greeted by a hostess and started to our table. She then asked the other people that were waiting if they were before us. We watched them being asked if they were helped before us when we walked in. After being seated we ordered our drinks and ordered an appetizer. Waitress then came by and took our order. The 6 rolls were brought out before we got our drinks and appetizer. The appetizer and drinks were then brought out. Our drinks were never refilled. When the check was brought out. They charged us full price for the happy hour appetizer and rolls. (We ordered 2 happy hour rolls.) I asked for them to be fixed. Waitress charged the "fixed" check she only fixed one of the rolls. Guess you can only have one happy hour roll for the table. We watched them Make a couple wait till most of the restaurant was cleared before they sat them. Now for the food. The rolls were very large (had to eat 2 bits) which is not good. The food was ok at best. Don't eat here. Your better off going to Sakura just down the street. read more

Sushi Totto had nice decor, however the food was just ok and the staff could use some additional training. I could go into great detail, but this is the gist... If there is an issue with your menu or your service, I would expect that a manager or shift leader would be able to deal with it. Instead they sent out another server to apologize about the staff not being informed and for having a misleading menu. Then her solution was to "talk to the lead server when she gets there." Not a great experience and if the food was phenomenal maybe we would give it another shot, but not when it is mediocre. Get it together. read more

This was our first visit and we are so thrilled with the delicious food! We visited at lunch time on a Saturday and it was fairly quiet, but I believe it can get quite busy at night. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen with a side of kimchi. The noodles were perfect and the chashu pork was delicious. The broth was very tasty, but we are huge fans of Tosh Ramen, and it didn't quite have the depth of flavor as Tosh. We also had a bento box and it was beautifully presented and everything tasted very good. The tempura vegetables were particularly good The tempura calamari was very good, and I would have loved some spicy mayo with it instead of the soy sauce they provided. I'll certainly ask for that next time. We will certainly be coming back to try more tapas and the sushi options. read more
