This place is good if you're looking for a place with sub-par sushi and an Asian rap playing night club feel. The tables were sticky. The waitresses were young and more concerned with chatting amongst themselves and laughing, then paying attention to their customers. Not sure what changed here, when it was sushi boat it was a little better, not much but still better. The all-you-can-eat sushi menu (14.99 lunch, 24.99 dinner) doesn't really have many options besides, tuna, and salmon-which is fine if you like those. We went for lunch, and the whole experience was below average. Service was slow until they were trying to push us out the door (they close from 2:30-4:30) the quality was not good, I don't know how else to describe it, just not good- I would rather eat rubber. I really enjoyed this place! Came here for Happy Hour with the gang, and the staff was beyond friendly and accommodating for 15 guys. The sushi was fast, tasty, fresh-tasting, and not a bad price. The drinks were cheap, refreshing, and tasty. But the best part was coming here with the girlfriend for their AYCE dinner. That was a HECK of a deal, and I didn't have to shell out over $100 for just a bit of sushi. We both ate to our heart's content for on the cheap (at least when it comes to sushi), and left feeling good. The sushi masters were hilarious, fun, entertaining, and snarky in a wonderful way. I went here for dinner for my dad's birthday Friday night and as we expected it was packed. You would think there would be more servers on a Friday night but no. There were TWO servers and one busser. I got a little irritated that we got our drinks after we got our sushi but I kinda felt bad. Even one of the sushi chefs had to run out the food. Food: We got the all you can eat sushi for 25 dollars which is great for me because I was eating nigiris and is well worth my money. The maguro, salmon, and tai were very fresh. Not a good experience. Never had a consistent waiter, was always someone different and just randomly checking on me as they walked past. Order the baked California roll and the thing came to me 1000 degrees. Burnt TF out of my mouth and then chewed through my other roll in pain since it had a tougher tempura crust on the outside. I don't want to totally slam this place, because the service was good, when you could get it. But the restaurant is filthy and clearly has seen better days. From the wet paper napkins thrown on the ceiling to the cracked dishes. Also some of the AYCE appetizers are not fresh. I had to spit one out because halfway through biting into, my body said "this isn't food". I guess we aren't the quantity crowd, we'll probably go somewhere else next time for quality. read more

I wish I could give more stars because this is the Best sushi house around! The staff is so friendly and always greet you when you walk in. The sushi is so fresh and so yummy, they usually always give you a complimentary appetizer and if you go at the end of the month on saturdays around 8 they do free sake bombs. Not sure if it's every Saturday or once a month. Any way me and my boyfriend have been coming here for awhile now and it just feels like family. We come here all the time. Usually we get the all you can eat sushi, $15 at lunch, $25 at dinner. You can easily get to that amount and get your money's worth. Out favorite is the Hamden roll. Always delicious. The staff is always kind and helpful. We have at at the bar and had the sushi delivered to our spot on the train. It was adorable. Don't be fooled by the exterior, this place is wonderful. We have never been disappointed in the sushi here. We only ever have a problem in eating too much! read more

This place obviously isn't Sushi Den--but it is a great value and has a variety of delicious eats. I've seen some reviews posted about poor service, but every time we've been there service was friendly, attentive, and quick! If you are feeling particularly peckish and want to stretch your sushi dollar, Sushi Train is a sure bet. read more

Ehhh, this place wasn't so great. The service was great, but the food wasn't so good. For an all you can eat restaurant, Sushi Katsu is my standard for quality. The appetizers were ok! Gyoza was delicious, soups were good, but the fried tofu was soggy. I ordered shrimp tempura w veggies but they forgot the shrimp. Some of the major issues: nigiri overpacked with rice as a dirty all you can eat tactic, some of the fish (white tuna) was soggy and somewhat ruined my appetite. The quality is very important when eating at a sushi restaurant, so I didn't feel comfortable eating here. I tried the avocado salmon rolls after giving up hope on the nigiri... They were delicious. The food is just ok. Do not order anything with shrimp tempura in it because it was ice cold and soggy. The veggie tempura had really thick and greasy coating which was not good. I'm no sushi connoisseur, but you can tell the difference between good sushi and average/sub par sushi, and this place was just ok. All you can eat sushi is, well...all you can eat sushi. You might get more bang for your buck in terms of quantity, but the rice quickly fills you up. Some items were ok, while others were almost inedible. I forget which nigiri we ordered, but it had some type of tangy glaze on it which make the fish taste funky like you just ate sushi that's been sitting out for days. Obviously I am not a big fan of "all you can eat sushi." I adamantly believe that fresher higher quality cuts of fish make better sushi and willing to shell out extra dough than mediocre sushi. read more

according to Google, Sushi Train had a conveyor belt for the sushi and sashimi. It had a model train set up around the bar but it was not functioning and was not what I quite had in mind. Conveyor belt sushi places are so hard to find! The food itself however, was excellent! The sushi was 5 star worthy. My chicken teriyaki was very chewy, almost as if it had been quick thawed and cooked. Everything else was great! Very cleanly and the staff was awesome. read more

I'm being generous with the 2 stars. This place is where good food goes to die. It's in a ratty building next to a ratty strip mall in a nice area. The staff was friendly enough. That's about all that was good. I ordered a green tea. It was burnt. I've never had burnt tea and their response was "it's roasted". This isn't coffee, it's tea. Next the food. I did a bento box with pork katsu and potstickers. The potstickers tasted like they came out of a deep freezer and the katsu had no seasoning. Just tasted like bread crumbs and mystery meat. Worst part was the dipping sauce which tasted like ketchup, bbq sauce and pickle juice mixed together. This place is NASTY. Here's the topper...After noticing a couple of dozen wads of paper stuck all over the ceiling and joking with coworkers that it was a failed attempt at DIY plumbing the waitress clarified that after you order and take a sake bomb you wet your USED napkin and throw that sucker onto the ceiling....above everyone's table and food. Never to be removed. Health issue much? NEVER AGAIN! HORRIBLE! Go to King Soopers and you'll be much happier! read more

This is my new favorite sushi restaurant in Denver! I used to work at a sushi restaurant, so I can be kinda picky about what I'll eat. This place is great because it's not only really good, but it's not too expensive. The place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but that's what adds to its charm! Everyone that works there is super nice. When you walk in the door, the sushi chefs greet you and they say goodbye when you leave. One day I went in for take-out in the middle of summer and the waitress offered me some cold water while I was waiting. Overall a great place for sushi that isn't super expensive! read more

Went here for the All You Can Eat dinner for $24.99. I have been to other All You Can Eat sushi places, and one thing you are bound to get is a lot of rice with your nigiri. Not here. They give you a thick cut and less rice than others. They also have fun, innovative specialty rolls that are part of their AYCE dinner which makes it fun when you go with a large group and can sample all the different rolls. The sushi came out quick, and servers were always friendly and eager to give amazing service. Only thing they can improve upon (reason for only 4 and not 5 stars) is the ambiance. It is outdated and could use a facelift. My recommendation is to go for Happy Hour (before 7) and do the All You Can Eat. Awesome value. read more

Had dinner here tonight on a recommendation. While I thought the "sushi train" itself was fun and kitschy- I really wish there was some way of identifying what's in the rolls. I'm not adventerous enough to just eat anything. They did have a good variety of specialty rolls, which I definitely appreciate, and I enjoyed all the rolls we ordered. The decor leaves something to be desired. And I'm not a fan of a having tv over the sushi bar- it's not a sports bar afterall. And for whatever reason, they must not have figured out how to turn the heat on because I was literally freezing throughout the entire meal, while wearing a sweater. Prices were decisively average- not exactly what I would consider cheap but not expensive either. I might bring someone by to see the train, but I don't see myself becoming a regular by any means. read more

A little more money than I wanted to pay, but well worth the price. We called ahead to ensure that we would have seats for what we anticipated to be a mad lunch rush, but the restaurant wasn't even that crowded. Our waitress was nice and fairly attentive. She was also kind enough to explain the specialty items on the all-you-can-eat menu. We definitely had our fill of appetizers, sushi rolls, and nigiri. The best part was that out of all of the sushi restaurants I have ever been to (and trust me, there have been many), this place had THE BEST fish to rice ratio. Just enough rice to balance the flavors of the fish, but not so much that I filled up without having tried everything I wanted to! read more

Flat out best sushi I've ever had in the Denver area, and the best prices. The sushi chefs always greet you with a cheery welcome... in Japanese no less! Everything is excellent, but the all-you-can-eat sushi is a steal. Most of the special rolls are included, as well as all your favorite sides. Have visited sushi train multiple times. I love the easy going atmosphere. The staff and chefs are very friendly and jokers. Food is delicious. Love the bar area. The trains and complimentary appetizer are well worth it. Unlimited sushi is amazing. I always eat too much, I always just want one more bite. The hours are odd. My husband and I have tried to swing by on a whim and they are closed. Wished they were open for a longer afternoon time, but will be looking forward to another visit. read more
