I was so excited to try this place out after hearing so much about it and seeing it all over social media. However, I'm disappointed at the service that my family and I were given. I can empathize with the fact that the power went out but at least inform your customers of what is going on and provide updates. We didn't know what was going on until we overheard a server at another table telling them what was going on. Our server only took our order once before the power went out and then took our order a second time after the power went out and told us we can only order sushi at that time. After that, we never saw our server again. I even turned my phone light on to try and wave her down to take our next order and to get an update on the power outage but she saw me and just walked away. We will probably give it another try in the next few months but for now, we will not be back anytime soon. read more

The sashimi and nagiri cuts are good cuts.If you get the high end option, order all the high end items that you are limited to 1 serving of as soon as you can then fill up on all the ayce items. Definitely get the toro and scallops, pretty delicious. Not too crazy for the seasoned variations of sasimi, but that's likely because I'm a dab of wasabi and a dip of little soy sauce. I bet there are others who will love the seasoned sasimi cuts. I'll be back for sure, I need to try the whole menu before I make any final calls. Not a single bad bite on this menu aside the "Japanese chopped steak" which wasn't bad it was just a beef patty and not actual steak but hey this is a seafood restaurant. I was really looking forward to trying here after seeing all the photos on social media and the excellent reviews on Yelp, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. To start with some positives, the fish quality was good, and the rice was well-cooked, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience didn't meet my expectations based on what I had read. The food didn't match the pictures I had seen. For example, the quail egg was served gunkan-style, which wasn't what I expected. The Sunrise roll didn't have quail egg or tobiko as advertised--it was just crab salad wrapped around tuna. The uni portion was extremely small compared to the pictures, and they limited it to just one piece per person for the entire meal. For $50 per person--the most expensive course, which included premium items like amaebi, uni, and a few specialty rolls--I expected much better. Service was another big issue. While the staff was polite and nice, there were only two waiters for the entire restaurant, which wasn't even half full. Flagging down a waiter was difficult, and tea refills were hard to get since they don't leave a teapot at the table. We were there for two hours and only managed to get 3 or 4 rounds of orders. They also try limit you to five orders per round, to allow the chefs to catch up apparently, so not only were we ordering infrequently, but we couldn't order much at a time. There were also incidences that we ordered sashimi only to receive nigiri, and the portion sizes kept getting smaller the longer we stayed. To make matters worse, toward the end of our meal, they started cutting the sashimi pieces in half when we ordered more. This felt pretty disingenuous for an all-you-can-eat place, especially considering the premium price point. After seeing so many positive reviews, I'm really disappointed in my experience. While the fish quality and rice were good, the slow service, small portions, and overall lack of value made the meal underwhelming. Unfortunately, I don't think it was worth the price at $50/person given all the restrictions on the ordering. I wish they'd let us order more of the limited items, perhaps have a digital ordering system so we don't have to flag waitstaff whos bussing, refilling drinks, taking orders, bringing customers to their tables and doing the entire checkout process. and just hopefully getting what I ordered. I'm hoping this gets better, and maybe I'll try them again at some point. read more

Tried this spot for the first time this past saturday and ended up with food poisoning. Service was good, everyone was friendly and fast, the inside was really pretty, but the food was alright. You can get better sushi for the same price anywhere else. Never coming back again. read more

I gave an extra star for the servers working hard and managing expectations on what appears to be a soft opening, as they were not staffed or managed to handle this amount of people. It was clear they are under new ownership but with some old staff from another established sushi spot, as can be seen by the original customers greeting the servers they haven't seen in a long time. There were many things wrong to improve, and here is the running list: Tables/seating too close (max accommodation 6/table), child age menu not clear (yelp says 6-10 50% off however we were charged 2 adults fees for my 4 and 7 year old who ate only ramen), our military and senior 10% discount was not honored, we hit max orders on just appetizers (we were told to stop ordering and had to wait 1hr to order mains), we had 3 different servers and appears the management tactic is to help anyone making eye contact, 3 of 4 adults ordered max items (2 pieces sashimi, a few rolls) and the 4th person had to wait until after all orders were in to order, the items that were cooked had came late after we ordered dessert for the kids, and to top it off, after we ordered what THEY decided our last item was, we were presented the $300 bill with service charge/tip for 4 adults and 2 children, no Senior/military 10% off, as if to say "you're finished now at our All You Can Eat restaurant". I would have to say, they respond well to filling water as that was the only immediate service response we received. I understand this is a new spot, and it was highly recommended however, I would suggest not to visit just yet until they get a handle on running a business. For AYCE, you don't limit people to ordering and you do not employ tactics and rules to serve the bare minimum. My suggestion: go to AYCE at Fuji's in Vacaville or Concord, that is how you run a business of this model. Positives: Sushi cut and quality, ambiance, lots of parking. read more

This was was our second time here. Wanted to give it another try. First time we came for lunch their excuse was the waitress was new and didn't know about having a lunch menu. I overheard from the table next to ours that they had a lunch "Bento Box" menu. So I asked for that menu, which our waitress was unaware of. Today, we again had to ask the waitress for the lunch menu as it was not offered to us. Then we were told we all had to order from the all you can eat otherwise we had to sit separately if one of us wanted to order from the lunch menu. Weird. The waitress came out with our food but brought the wrong order for my husband. She attempted to hand the plate saying I know you ordered tonkatsu(pork) but this is chicken. My husband said I ordered the pork. And the waitress said ok we'll remake it for you, as if she was doing us a favor? Rude. The sushi was good and fresh. The other orders were good as well. The place was clean. But they need to work on the service and making sure the servers are aware of the menu. Not sure about the eating at a separate table rule. Also weird. read more

I haven't been to this establishment before but I had been to the previous one many years ago. I saw this new ayce sushi place open in fairfield and just had to try it out. Let's start off with the location and ambiance. The location itself is located in an area that is known for frequent traffic of our local homeless, so be prepared to possibly encounter an undesirable or two in the parking lot. The day me and my wife went it was during the heavy rains so no problem there. Once inside the ambiance and decor of the restaurant looked nice and clean, going for a fancier look with the highlighted lighting in the building featuring a nice look to the sushi bar. Overall looks is on the darker side but the ambiance is nice. The service. The service we received was average. The server was very nice, polite and patient with us. But service itself was just ok. That day we went it wasn't busy at all, 3 other tables besides ours a total of 5 other people not counting me and my wife. This restaurant ayce style is you order 3 items at a time which is fine I understand that it's to minimize food going to waste. My main complaint is that once me and the wife were finished with our 3 selections and needed to order some more it took the staff some time to make their way to our table. The constant wait time between ordering,,eating, waiting to order another dish was longer than I would've expected with the restaurant being as empty as it was, which is concerning because I can only imagine how long it would take to get to you if it was busy. Other than that the server helping us was very polite and helpful when we had any questions. Now to the food. We opted for the ayce option B, specifically for the sashimi. We typically order the salmon sashimi when starting off eating sushi. The salmon was cut on the thicker side which my wife loved but I didn't. I'm no chef but I know with meats like steak you are supposed to cut against the grain but I am not sure with fish. The way the salmon was cut was a little weird to me and felt like they cut with the grain of the meat, I am not sure how else to explain it but the salmon was sort of chewy and felt like it was cut the wrong way. That could just be me but like I said that's what it felt like. Another issue I came across is that on a few of the salmon I got throughout the dinner I had a couple of fish bones in it. I have never experienced this while eating sushi before so it was very odd to me how a sushi restaurant would accidentally leave huge bones in their fish. It's not like I'm eating at a buffet and they accidently left it in. This is a sushi place there shouldn't be any bones in the fish at all. I wanted to also be brave a try their squid nigiri. That squid must've been the most slimey, chewy, piece of squid I had ever tasted it was horrific, I didn't mind the octopus but the squid was terrible. Overall decent place but not worth the price in my opinion when there are better options at comparable prices. read more

This place was good when I tried it on Valentine's Day. But not more than two weeks later they changed their menu drastically. They got rid of the sashimi and hand rolls from the menu, along with the tamago. They also moved a bunch of rolls to tier C that were once part of tier B. The menu is now also only two pages, when before it was multiple pages. It seems like they're trying really hard to continue to capitalize off the influencer marketing they received recently, but conveniently changed the entire menu once they got a lot of buzz going around. I think they should at least remove pictures of their old menu so people aren't being duped into thinking they have a lot of options for a low price. read more

We visited this restaurant after seeing it all over social media and were excited to try their AYCE sushi and Korean BBQ. Since we were a larger party, we expected a bit of a wait and were seated around 8:26 PM. Our family came from various areas; Sacramento, Walnut Creek, Pittsburg, Oakley, and even Texas. Unfortunately, our experience was frustrating and disappointing. We were seated in the back and had our orders taken as two separate tables, even though we were sitting together. The first half of our table received their food promptly and had a great experience. However, the other half of the table barely received anything, just two items initially. Our original waiter never checked back on us, and despite trying to get the attention of other staff, we were ignored until we had to go up ourselves to ask for assistance. A kind staff member helped us re-enter the lost order, but even then, some people only received a single sushi roll and never got the full AYCE experience. To make matters worse, no one informed us of the kitchen's closing time or the last order cut-off, even though their website listed a closing time of 9:30 PM. By the time we realized, it was too late to get the full experience we came for. When we brought our concerns to the manager, things only got worse. He was on his phone, dismissive, and not at all receptive to our frustration. He initially tried giving us $10 gift cards for a future visit. Which, after this experience, we had no intention of making. After a lot of back and forth (and him having to call his boss multiple times), they finally agreed to adjust six people from the "C group" pricing to "B group," but the entire situation was unnecessarily frustrating. The servers (aside from the one who ignored us) were kind and even advocated for us, but the management was completely unprofessional. Some of the sushi was good, but nothing amazing, and certainly not worth the long drive or the terrible service experience. Hopefully, they improve as they are still a newer restaurant, but based on this visit, we won't be returning. Would not recommend making a trip out here unless their service drastically improves. read more

We waited almost an hour for a table for two only to taste some of the most bland sushi we have ever tasted. The decor is nice and new, and the waitresses were nice, but looks like they cut back on seasoning and Japanese authenticity. We had to ask three different servers for a green tea. The edamame came marinated in a very bland and oily garlic paste. The ramen is basically cup of noodles ramen. The sushi was very bland with the bare minimum of salmon or sauce. This was our 1st visit. I gave 4 out 5 rating only because the shrimp tempura in the rolls were stale. Maybe they cooked them ahead of time, but fresh cooked is better. It really doesn't take much time to cook fresh. Although the shrimp in the mixed tempura was hot and fresh. The side dishes were amazing. I would recommend the cheese corn, gyoza, stuffed mushrooms (idk what it was stuffed with? Seemed more like a tempura mushroom) and especially the chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki was hot, fresh and flavorful. Service...Exceptional. Friendly and fast. Servers helped out multiple tables. Ambiance was nice and relaxing. Decorations very well done. No wait for a table. This place has a lot of potential. The menu is tiered. We decided to go for the A menu choice. You have to choose for yourself. For all you can eat sushi, it was worth the price & variety of choices. We will be back to try other items. read more
