People literally wait to get seats so that says a lot. There was a moment where one of my orders got mixed up with another table but that's the only mishap I had with the place! Nice little tucked away place in a strip-mall. Went for lunch everything was made fresh to order. You write down numbers on an order sheet and they bring it to your table. Any kind and as much as you can eat. Just don't eat with your eyes because they will charge you .50 for each piece you waste. Thoroughly enjoyed that it was in the buffet with all kinds of nasty hands on the food utensils. I have been here many times however this had to be the worst experience I have every had here. My fiancé and I went in for lunch we waited to be sat for about 15 minutes which wasn't a bad wait. However we got sat at the bar with no menus, no pens, empty sauces or no sauce at all. We wait 10 minutes for someone to bring us menus. 20 minutes for someone to pick up our tickets. Then we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for our food. The line guys had put up 7 plates and they were left up there for a while and the servers were just walking past trying to close the restaurant. Then 10 minutes goes by we finally get our food which the line guys handed to us. Then when the server came around to get the bill she was like "hello!" and put the coke in my face. How are there still fish in the sea with all these all you can eat sushi places everywhere??? Sushi X has been around for awhile and on my last visit they really stepped their game up. The quality and portions of the sushi ordered are great and will fill you up in no time. Pretty much everything on the all you can eat menu was above average and out of 15+ different things I maybe only disliked 2 or 3. The interior is just your standard sushi house with some booths and a few tables. The night I went was pretty packed and we ended up having to scoot a chair into the walkway next to my party's table. So if you have a bigger party I would make a reservation and let them know ahead you want to sit together. The food came out fast and the servers were attentive enough, considering they had to keep running the different plates constantly. I'm sure that some of the stuff I ordered did not come out and I received random sushi as well as the other people at my table. But I don't have any allergies or anything so I ate whatever, regardless. If you got a big appetite and love you some sushi, Sushi X is a great place to go with friends and get your grub on. This place is a small little sushi restaurant in Jacksonville. My friend made the recommendation to come here for AYCE sushi. Overall I was not disappointed. The quality of the sushi was pretty good for AYCE. The cuts of sashimi were thick and you can tell the restaurant was not trying to skimp out on you. They have a $14.99 menu and a $19.99 menu. $14.99 does not include sashimi. So I went with the $19.99 menu and pretty much only ordered off that menu. They had a couple rolls that had soft shell crab, lobster, and eel. I would recommend this place to other people if they go to Jacksonville. For $11.99 all you can eat lunch (weekdays only I believe) - that's a bargain depending on how much you eat. The menu includes pretty much everything from sushi, soup, hibachi and so on. The sign says "Sushi X," but it says "Ultimate Sushi & Grill" on the door. It's located in between Tropical Smoothies and Pizza Hut near Starbucks. This is an "All you can eat" sushi place owned by the owner of Fuji Sushi (Mandarin, San Marco, Beach/Hodges). This restaurant has only been opened for three months, so everything looks new and clean. We came here for dinner on Friday night after we saw their ad on Mint magazine. You can order four sushi items and four kitchen items (appetizers, soup, hibachi, etc.) at a time, and there's a no waste policy (any left over will be charged $0.50 per piece). We ended up trying 18 different items from the menu, and they were all pretty decent! We ordered only from the regular menu, and our total came up to be $34.22 including tax. So it's a pretty good deal for the amount of food that we got. We were ridiculously full by the end of the meal. The raw fish for the sushi were fresh, and they did not try to skim on the amount of ingredients either. The quality of their sushi is definitely better than most sushi restaurants in Jacksonville. One night I was cravin some serious sushi, i was about 5 minutes away and decided to call to see if they were still seating pple. I mean, they didnt close for another 35-40 minutes and its half orders of sushi, they are fast and I'd be in and out in like 20 minutes, right? So I called to ask if it would be bad if I came in 30 minutes before they closed. There was a pause, then the man said yes... no lie, i was shocked. I thanked him for his honesty but I was a little bummed, like Idk, a lot of successful places will allow customers to come in 15 minutes before they closed and he told me no over the phone 30 min before than. You get what you pay for. Unlimited sushi that doesn't have amazing quality or freshness but definitely kills the quantity category. This place is very suspiciously comparable to fuji sushi (possibly a rebrand?). The menus are exactly the same as fuji and even have the fuji logo at the bottom. The servers are all nice and food comes out pretty quick. Great spot for lunch with friends. The dinner prices are a little steep but you do get more I believe. You will need to take a long walk after eating AYCE syshi. When I first came into the restaurant, it reminded me of my trip to NYC. A small galley restaurant with quick service. You have to sign in to get a table, that is a first for me in Jacksonville. The AYCE menu allows for freedom to explore without consequence. All items are served tapas style - small portions. The ultimate menu includes 2 free alcoholic beverages too. We opted for the ultimate menu. Gzoya (pork dumplings) steamed...delicious, deep fried crab sticks - served hot out of the grease. I burnt my tongue it was so hot. And so many different rolls pink Cadillac, lobster roll, dragon roll. The customer service is fast paced. You put slips of paper out for the servers to take to the sushi chefs. It is comes out in no time. Be sure to only order what you can eat. You will be charged 50 cents per piece left on your plate. I am so disappointed. Went there this evening for dinner by myself. I guess when you are only over person, your business doesn't matter. I patiently waited for 25 minutes. When a table became available they didn't want to put me there because I was only one person and even though I was next on the list, it didn't matter. She tried to add a chair at their bar area which she could have done 25 minutes prior. I left. Good sushi spots especially AYCE sushi spots are like UNICORNS in Arizona so I knew I wanted some sushi coming down to Florida. My buddie took me here and our group was seated quickly. The price for AYCE is super cheap compared to what I'm used to. The table is set with placemats with a number assigned to them and the way you order is there are order sheets in the middle and you mark down what you like and your seat number and then they bring it over. Dishes are not the cleanest, had to ask for soda to be replaced twice due to having something floating in it and cup being dirty. You fill out a ticket to order up to 8 choices at a time.
