Love this spot! It's like a mini Nobu in Toluca Lake. Obsessed with the truffle salmon sashimi and the lemon roll! Be sure to make reservations in advance or be there before they open as the line will be long! You won't be disappointed I'm very picky with Sushi and highly recommend.

Number one sushi in Los Angeles hands down..! Christin is the nicest with great attitude. The lime roll melt in your mouth. Wow Wow everything is so delicious here .

Everything was just mediocre -- definitely a bit disappointed considering the reviews and reputation. We got a variety of things -- oysters, salmon nigiri, tuna nigiri, soft shell crab, rolls, and salmon sashimi -- nothing really stood out to me as very good. The fish was ok, not some of the better fish I've had. The best roll we had was the Philadelphia roll, which is very disappointing to say the last. The oysters were straight up bad, and the soft shell crab was the best thing we had all night. Our server seemed very overwhelmed and forgetful as well. We will definitely not be returning

A friend recommended this place and it's prob the best sushi place I've been to! Everything is extremely fresh and has great flavor. We got the salmon sashimi with truffle oil, yuzu roll and baked avocado/crab roll. Everyone was very attentive and ensured we had enough water. The plaza is a bit tiny so I recommend you find street parking! Right across the street from the Trader Joe's.

I thought the food was just ok. It was good but did not wow me that I would crave any of the rolls. Don't get me wrong the fish was fresh but it was just ok. The rolls fell apart pretty quickly. The service was friendly but slow. It's a pretty small restaurant so the tables are very close together so it does get loud if you're trying to have a conversation The parking lot is small so searching for street parking is not the easiest in this neighborhood.

Such a cute and cozy place. I was invited to go here with a friend of mine and she has been going for some time and I finally was able to join her. The place is clean and minimal in design. The chefs are very nice and the food is very fresh and tasty. The servers are attentive and helpful. We were there on a Monday night and it wasn't as busy but I can imagine it being full quickly as the space is limited. It's worth the try if you love sushi. I will be back again.

We were surprised to see a line of people waiting for their doors to open on a Saturday night. And felt lucky to get a parking spot in their small lot! Soon after we were seated, most of the tables & the sushi bar were filled. They had an impressive selection of fresh fish for that day. Their huge menu was hard to choose from, because everything sounded so good. We loved everything we got: Edamame w/white truffle Yellowtail sashimi w/cilantro & crispy garlic Japanese Uni sushi Spicy Tuna on crispy rice Salmon toast Yuzu roll Service was excellent & all their tables were filled by the time we left. Highly recommend!

Yuzu is always a hit. The Japanese A5 wagyu beef with truffle salt is melt in your mouth good. It's always super busy but the waiters are attentive. It's a good casual date night spot.

One of my favorite sushi spots in the valley! Always super fresh food. The Yuzu roll came highly recommended so me and my date both got it and we ate every piece. I've never had a bad dish at Yuzu so I usually get some kind of roll and then a side of two-piece sushi. This time we also got the crispy rice This place has fair pricing and is in a great location, street parking as well. The staff is so kind and gave us a heating lamp since we sat outside. I'll be back soon!

This place is the best little local sushi spot Evvvverrrr!!! The location is great , parking ? Not so much. But I manage each time I go, and don't mind. The restaurant is not that big , but with RSVPs we have never had any problems getting a table. The staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome . And now the best part ! The FOOD !!! Ah maz ing !!!! This place never disappoints. Always fresh , and always delicious. They have a fantastic variety of dishes, few of my favorites are the Asian roll, the Chilean Seabass hand roll, albacore sashimi with crispy rice , salmon carpaccio, scallop crudo , you know what ? Everything is amazing!!!! You can't go wrong. If you've never been here , definitely go and try it at least once . Then you will understand why I always see at least 10 people I know each time I go here. It's a fun atmosphere, good service, and great food ! Thank me later .

This place is good! All that we ordered was so yummy! Forgot the names mostly sushi and oysters and rolls! First time here we tried their other restaurant last time. I think same menu but different name.

When we arrived, the line was out the door, which made me feel like we were really in for a treat. The fish and ingredients tasted very fresh--which is honestly the baseline for good sushi in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn't quite meet expectations. The space felt cramped, and the service was subpar. It was nice to try, but with so many excellent sushi spots nearby, I'd prefer to spend this price point somewhere with better service and a more comfortable atmosphere. I heard Kabosu next door shares the same owners and menu, so I might give that a try one day--but I don't think I'd return to Sushi Yuzu.

    Jacqueline C.

Service was excellent and everything we ordered was delicious. I especially enjoyed the crispy rice tuna l just wish their portions were a tad bit bigger.

    Welcome condiments.

I'll start with the few negatives because, honestly, there weren't many. With how popular this place has become and the number of regulars that come in every day, parking can be a little difficult. Thankfully, they have someone outside helping direct cars and navigate the parking situation, which definitely makes things easier. The interior is also a little outdated and could use some updating, but once the food comes out, you quickly forget about it. Now for the good stuff. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Great service always makes a difference, and the staff here really added to the overall experience. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Rice Cake, Crispy Shrimp Roll, Mula Roll, and KB4 Roll, and every single one was a hit. Spicy Tuna Rice Cake -- Easily one of the highlights of the meal and an absolute MUST TRY. You get four pieces of crispy rice that have the perfect crunch on the outside while still being light and fluffy inside. They're topped with avocado and some of the best spicy tuna I've ever had. The tuna was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and creamy. I could've ordered another plate of these by themselves. Crispy Shrimp Roll -- Another must-try. This roll has so much flavor and the perfect amount of crunch without being overwhelming. At only $10, it's honestly hard to pass up. I can definitely see myself ordering this every time I come back. Mula Roll -- This one is definitely on the pricier side at $28, but it's worth it. It's loaded with premium, incredibly fresh fish, including unagi and tuna, along with avocado and savory sauces. The fish was buttery and fresh, with a subtle kick of heat that brought everything together. Definitely a roll for anyone who likes richer, more flavorful sushi. KB4 Roll -- A great combination of spicy tuna, yellowtail, albacore, and salmon. What I really liked was that the fish was served chunky rather than finely minced, so you could actually appreciate the different textures and flavors. The fish was incredibly fresh and practically melted in your mouth. Absolutely delicious. Overall, Chiba is a hidden gem in the Valley and easily one of the better sushi spots I've tried. Between the quality of the fish, the flavors, the portions, and the friendly service, it's a place I'll definitely be coming back to. Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 -- Highly recommend! The carwash roll was absolutely delectable, not on the menu, probably my favorite of the night. The crunchy shrimp handroll was amazing. We also ordered a shrimp tempura cut roll that comes with a unique sauce that stole the show. Overall great quality sushi, we were very happy with all our choices. The OG Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles that held up well from start to finish. Seated in a rather interesting part of North Hollywood, the summer heat did not deter us from eating here, as the smell immediately brought my worries elsewhere. A vast majority of the food here was fantastic, and the only reason I was going to opt for 4 stars was the takoyaki had quite a tiny portion in the actual dough ball- despite the actual breading so soft and fluffy, it was like the most delightfully extravagant packaging for something that was a bit of a let down. Though, much to the credit of our waiter she understood and offered to swap it out for another appetizer, which probably deserves the vast majority of the praise here. The vegetarian dumplings we ordered were legitmately some of the best dumplings I've had period. From the vegan mayo to the best gentle heat I've ever had the experience I've eating. Just hot enough for a brief moment with delightful heat throughout. The chicken skewers we had and the calamari were solid and with a perfectly paired Thai Iced Tea, I only hope to visit again and drown in dumplings. Cheers!

If you are looking for a sushi restaurant, this is not for you. They do have some sushi, but it is very limited, and frankly the options they did have were wildly overpriced. Selling salmon sashimi for $40 is a huge ask. As for the atmosphere, it's a pretty sharp looking space, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but they leave all the windows and doors open at all times, so if it's a warm evening, you're going to be hot even if you sit outside. Also, the music gets progressively louder as nightfall progresses, so it can be tough to have a conversation without shouting. Bottom line, if you're looking for a good sushi spot, there are half a dozen other places within walking distance that are, in my opinion, much better. Making a reservation was very easy, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted right away and seated promptly. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The restaurant is a bit dimly lit, but it really adds to the cozy and upscale atmosphere. One thing I immediately noticed was how clean all of the grills were. We chose the AYCE option (around $55 per person), and the pricing for kids was very reasonable. Our 5-year-old was charged a reduced rate, while our 3-year-old ate free, which was a nice bonus for families. The selection of meats was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from. They do have a 90-minute dining limit and a surcharge for excessive leftovers, but that wasn't an issue for us because everything was delicious. The appetizer selection was surprisingly large. We enjoyed the beef fried rice, noodles, a sushi roll, crispy tofu, chicken karaage, and shiitake mushrooms. The crispy tofu turned out to be spicier than we expected, so just keep that in mind if ordering for kids. However, spice lovers will probably enjoy it! The chicken karaage was a huge hit with the kids, especially with the spicy mayo on the side. The shiitake mushrooms were also incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. We also ordered crispy rice spicy tuna, we loved it too! What really stood out was the service. Every server we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Instead of simply dropping off food and walking away, they took time to check in, ask how we were doing, and connect with us. That personal touch made the experience feel special. We only ordered water since we had already had plenty of drinks earlier in the day, but they offer a variety of beverages as well. For dessert, we tried the mochi ice cream special--two for $5--which was a fantastic deal. In San Diego, it's common to pay around $5 for just one mochi ice cream, so we were pleasantly surprised. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are so happy we chose Oku-Niku for my birthday celebration. Great food, excellent service, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience.
