The ambiance was nice and the service was good. The food was okay, but way overpriced. I ordered a hot green tea, the Spicey mayo shrimp pops appetizer and a dragon roll. The shrimp pops was not good to me. The shrimp tasted a bit fishy and the sauce made the tempura soft and soggy. It was really bready and shrimp inside was small, so I got more bread and sauce than shrimp. I ended up not eating all of it and ate my dragon roll instead. The dragon roll was good (mainly because I was starving), however, again the shrimp was a bit fishy tasting and it had way more tempura and rice than I did shrimp meat. See pictures below. Honestly, I would not go there again because of how over priced it is compared to the quality of the food I got. Tostones in pictures seem larger than they appear!! These were sooo tiny! I was almost in shock when they came to our table. I thought they were full tostones, but nope they're cookie cut into a way smaller version. Nonetheless delish for $13. Also had the ceviche roll: calamari, shrimp and salmon tempura w avocado and steamed shrimp on top. Delish! Comes in 10 pieces very filling. I was worried it was going to taste too fried but it didn't. It was very fresh. The ceviche sauce is really what makes this roll. You don't need soy sauce, you can just dip the roll in the ceviche sauce. $19 My bf ordered the kaizo soup. It was meh. It's miso based and had udon noodles, shrimp, krab (even tho the menu says CRAB), and veggies. Not a lot of flavor for supposedly being miso based. I had to squeeze lime and put soy sauce to get the flavors out. I'll start with sushi isn't my favorite food. I don't eat any raw fish. This place was great though. They had so many great options! It was super clean and the decor was festive and fun. It is small so big parties may have difficulty finding seating. The drink menu had so fun and interesting Choices with saki. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got the Jungle roll which normally had tuna in it which I don't like so they were nice enough to race the tuna with extra avocado! It came with a spicy mayo and a honey dipping sauce. The combination was absolutely delicious my husband had the jungle roll and he said it was fantastic. This restaurant is a surprise gem. Decent sushi is so hard to find... I usually head to Miami if I'm craving Sushi, but I live in Pembroke Pines and my girlfriend lives in Tamarac and I wanted to find something between us so we decided to give Sushiato a try last Friday. I have to say I was quite surprised. The service is on point and the food was excellent. They brought us a complimentary tartar thing before we even had a chance to read the menu! Then we simply had to start with the sushi pizza, which was spectacular. The Jungle Roll is pretty amazing. We also got the Mambo Roll (good), the Fresh Fish without Shrimp (great), and a special they had that was other-worldly. I have to give this place to Stars based on the service alone. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff was very friendly but the service was slower then it should have been. We arrived at 7:55 p.m. and our food was not presented to us until almost 9:00PM. our server was very kind and kept coming by to apologize about the slow service and long wait times. It was very thoughtful, but both of the tables next to us got there food at the same time we did and they came in much later. as far as the food goes it was not bad. It was an Asian fusion sushi restaurant which is what we expected when we got there but the roles were not very well made. They were lumpy and small. we did however receive the house salad called the sushiato salad complementary to try while waiting. I have to say that that was the best thing we had all night. I would go again to give them a chance to have better service. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible read more

Came here for lunch with coworkers. It was packed (as is the case during lunch) but the place is kind of cramped. They try to maximize space to the point of pushing tables together - thank goodness most of our party was on the thinner side if not the people next to us would've got our bottom on their food. The waitress was a bit rude (that's why there's one less star) and rolled her eyes at us for ordering water (2 without ice). Really don't appreciate that. Volcano roll - it's good - the fish topping is mainly tuna which threw me off a bit with a TON of masago - not that great to have that much. If you like wasabi and ginger you have to ask for it. Maui roll - love the pops the most but the filling fell apart mostly Weston roll - it was good but I feel like you could get it elsewhere too. read more

Sushi heaven! This is a really great Latin fusion sushi concept. The ambiance is very reminiscent of a trendy, quaint coffee shoppe with tons of little plants, wood accents and all white furniture. Very cozy but light and fresh. We started off with two appetizers, the Fire Balls and the Tropical Tuna. Both were amazing but I liked the Tropical Tuna better mostly because of the poke style fish on top of the fried plantain slices. Really great pairing. I ordered the Trio Deluxe Roll which was one of the sushi roll specials. It's similar to their Tuna/Salmon Deluxe Roll but with red and white Tuna and salmon! No rice in this roll but it was delicious and the fish was amazingly fresh! Also tried the Ceviche Roll and Moon Roll. The Ceviche Roll was good but I'm not a huge fan of rolls with shrimp tempura since I prefer the raw stuff. However, the Moon Roll was amazing! Don't let the honey drizzle and almond/walnut mixture scare you from ordering this. It was a wonderful sweet and salty mix that paired perfectly together with the shrimp and was such a pleasant surprise! If you want to try something different, definitely order this! The only thing we weren't impressed with with the "off menu" dessert of the Nutella Balls. I was expecting them to be hot and they were more like eating room temp Nutella out of the container. That was honestly the only disappointing part of the experience. Overall, the service and food was amazing. Super clean place and really great concept. It is a little pricey but I contribute hat to the area they're in. We looked at the reviews and everything looked really good - they were all right! We got there early and there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant. We were heated as soon as we walked in and our waitress was very nice. Great variety of sushi to choose from... very different selections. We started with the fire balls - we expected something spicy but not at all. Fried cream cheese balls wrapped in tuna with guava and something else on top. It was ok - wouldn't be upset if we didn't get it again. The two sushi rolls we did get for absolutely amazing. I almost hate to write this review as I would like to keep this place hidden! OMG! So good. Thanks to Yelp, we decided to stop in. The place isn't large and you have to sit pretty close to your neighbors but that's a good way to meet new friends. I cannot recall the owners name but she is awesome. Hands on and available. Their dishes have a Latin fusion which makes them way different than any other sushi joint. The wait staff was awesome and gave us recommendations to die for. During our first visit, we didn't know what to try and our waiter gave us spot on recommendations. We started off with the Sushiato Mix Ceviche. It is so different and is out of this world. Never have I had Ceviche like that. This one is a mix of white fish, shrimp and octopus and use rocoto milk with lime and spices. Since our first visit, I have been back just for that. Amazing! We also had a seaweed salad. So fresh and crunchy. Yum! Our waiter suggested that we give the Adam roll a try. That still is my favorite. Shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, cream cheese all wrapped in Tuna with Wakame and crab mix piled on top and then a drizzle of eel sauce. WOW! Another must have! So good! We also had the Sushiato roll. Salmon, tuna, white fish, crab, cream cheese and masago wrapped in seaweed paper and then fried. Another hit. There are so many things that I could add but it's just making me hungry! We had the edamame to start, that was very good...albeit a bit pricier than other places. The real wins came in the form of the appetizer, specialty rolls and maki. The appetizer was lightly fried goat cheese balls wrapped in tuna and topped with pineapple and guava. Incredible and so different! The specialty rolls I don't remember what they were and aren't listed on their online menu. I think one was a Mambo (a bit different than listed online) and the other was just amazing. My mom and I went for a mother/daughter date and we were immediately greeted by our server who was super kind and gave us plenty of yummy suggestions. This place has terrible service. In my opinion, the service a restaurant provides really makes or breaks it, no matter how good the food is. The sushi is fine, i mean nothing out of the ordinary and certainly something you can find anywhere else. I just do not think this place deserves your money. The first time I went was to pick up some takeout I had ordered. I walked into an empty restaurant and the waitresses staring at me. I went up to them and I said hello, they ignored my hello said zero words to me while pointing at the takeout bag. Second time I went (and last) me and my boyfriend walked in to have some dessert around 45 minutes before they closed. It was a Saturday and the restaurant had about 4 couples in it. Once again, we walked in and NO ONE greeted us. EVERY SERVER COOK WAITRESS ANYONE AND EVERYONE WORKING THERE literally just stared at us. We laughed at the awkward situation and just sat OURSELVES down. 5 minutes later (the waitress and cooks were on their phone) the waitress came up to me with a terrible attitude and that was that. We have been ordering from Sushiato every weekend lately and we cannot get enough! We had originally dined in a while back, but we were craving sushi the other day and we knew Sushiato was the place to order from. Their roles are amazing and the combinations they create are full of flavor. We usually order the gyozas and power balls as appetizers. The power balls come with corvina, a garlic paste, cilantro, and aji amarillo -delicious. The rolls that we always order although we always say we will try new ones are the Dracula roll, Miami roll, Adam roll, and the tuna mango twist. The rolls are filling so be aware. I have also ordered the Miami roll with a size of their guava sauce and it's phenomenal. They also pack the food really well for delivery through Postmates so thankfully we have not had an issue. A new place for Weston, this is a traditional Sushi restaurant that takes some cues from Latin American cooking... and it works! Very nicely decorated, clean, fresh and friendly staff. All of that plus the food, make it quite enjoyable. We had their fire balls which are Tina wrapped goat cheese balls, various rolls and sashimi. All of the fish was fresh and nicely cut. Flavor was very good and plates well presented. Dessert was very good as well and you have your less-Japanese and more Latin coffee options, as well as espresso, etc. We're not the culinary marvel that is Coral Gables or Wynwood or the Design District, but places like Sushiato takes Weston up a notch. The restaurant looks very cute but when it comes to the food it is not actually Japanese food and very very expensive when the food was just decent. It doesn't taste like fried rice, the chicken was super dry. I also got a Koni salad from there and it was super oily and to many fried crunchies in it. Then I got the Dragon roll....the tempura was not fresh at all. Their yum yum sauce you can tell it was just mayo and hot sauce, it wasn't how it usually taste. I really don't recommend this place to anyone. It's more Hispanic taste of food then Asian. read more

"Mitchell" (Chef) is very creative and the best I know. If you have kids, I personally do not care for the chicken tenders as the do not have to much flavor. I love the food here and have had great service from them but today i ordered uber eats and was very disappointed. The sushi and tirados were excellent as usual but the fried rice orders that were $16+ dollars each were served in tiny containers that maybe would accommodate a small child. The food was good. We stopped by for lunch around 1pm in time to order from the lunch menu. The lunch special was a soup/ salad, croquettes and a full roll for $12.99. A great bang for your buck! The waitress was kind and thorough in her explanation of the menu. The food was good, portions were generous. I'm giving a rating of 3 because I didn't love the croquettes or the tamarindo special roll I ordered, however they weren't bad. The guava roll was great. Foods really good here and so is the staff...The only issue i somehow seem to always come across is hair in my food. I never make a big deal out of it but overall it's not very hygienic. I'd give it a better rating if it was a little bit-more sanitary and instead of only hats worn by the chefs,that they were something to protect their hair from falling into the food. read more

I had high expectations for Sushiato and it was all I imagined. Both owners are very friendly and attentive. We were taken care by Sandra, she is lovely!! It was our first time visiting so they gave us a little menu book with pictures that helped a lot making our mind on what to order. I HIGHLY recommend the Sushiato Salad (five stars) mild spicy crab with eel sauce on top. The flavors are just incredible! We also had the Mambo roll (a riceless roll pretty much like a wrap), Salmon tuna deluxe (Yum),Tom-su special, and a roll that mixed honey, cream cheese and walnuts (The Moon Roll) probably my favorite. We even had dessert oreo tempura, crunchy bites and apple pie tempura. I didn't get the chance to take a picture because they were all so good they were eaten right away! Delicious. I'm giving a 5 star review. Prices are what you expect out of sushi. The menu has both traditional and unique rolls.
