It was around maybe 2:45 PM by the time we arrived and it wasn't busy. We came in and decided to get the AYCE sushi for lunch. The price for lunch time was suppose to be $23, but apparently since it was President's day, they were charging dinner price the whole day. While looking at the other pictures, there was actually a fine print that said that they charge dinner price all day on holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's. I just hoped they were nice enough to remind their customers. For the AYCE, there was a limit to one order per person for the oysters, shrimp tempura, soft shell crab, and uni. We ordered one each, but I only tried the shrimp tempura and the soft shell crab. I didn't think the shrimp tempura was that great. I wished it was fried a little bit longer. The soft shell crab wasn't bad, but I only ate like a claw. We ended up ordering 2 miso soups, calamari, red dragon roll, salmon skin roll, golden snapper?, albacore, tuna, and salmon. We first got our miso soups and I was surprised by how strong the flavoring was, but I liked it. The calamari came with 3 pieces and it was shaped like onion rings. I expected it to come in small pieces, which I would have preferred, just so it would be easier to eat. I liked the red dragon roll, which was a california roll with spicy tuna, fried eel, and spicy mayo. The initial bite was spicier than I thought, but after that, I was used to it. The salmon skin roll wasn't too bad either, I enjoyed it. I'm not into raw fish, but I tried the albacore and the tuna. I did not enjoy those at all. SERVICE: The waitress we had was nice and all, but there were some orders we had to remind her that we didn't receive. For our first round, we had to remind her that we didn't get the salmon skin roll, but we didn't catch that until when we were ordering our second round. So for the second round we ordered the albacore, salmon, and tuna. She also put "1" for salmon skin roll since we never got it and circled it, but I guess the sushi chef just saw the circled "1" and didn't see that we marked an order for the other 3, so we had to tell the waitress that this time around we didn't get those orders. She apologized and came back with it, which was fine. PARKING: It's located in a plaza, so there is a private lot. read more

Just finished eating here and boy oh boy it was so good! Sushi that we ordered were on point. Mussels were steaming hot when it was brought to us, we ordered it three times (yes it was that good). Service was excellent and that's always a plus point in my book. There were 3 waiters taking care of our order, safe to say that we never ran out of sushi and didn't have to wait so long for another round. Been here so many times and will def be back! read more

The food quality is okay. Since it was AYCE, don't set your expectations too high. If you have no expectations, then you cannot be disappointed. For the service, I think they did an amazing job. With a few staff, they were able to keep up with their busy work. I respect their hard work. The ambiance was nice. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their night with their families and friends. Would I visit again? Since I haven't tried all the sushi, I don't mind visiting again and check out the rest of it. I'm willing to give it a second chance. read more

3.5 stars I haven't been here since they changed ownership. It's the same concept though of all you can eat sushi. Lunch prices are a little less and that includes weekends, I believe. They have a good variety of nigiri, rolls, and appetizers. I do like that they offer no rice options on their rolls. I love seared fish... they offer the VIP salmon and VIP tuna. Both are super yummy and have a relatively small rice to fish ratio. I got my usual scallops, salmon, escolar and unagi. I tried their no rice options rolls, the cherry blossom and it was good. Even if they don't put rice, it's still filling since they put imitation crab. Overall, it's a pretty good place for AYCE sushi. read more

Love this place It has very special spot in my heart. Food ALWAYS soo good! Workers so polite and owner is amazing! Fish is always fresh with amazing flavor. I always come out to eat here every time im in Socal. Would 1000% recommend eating here for all your sushi needs. It was my first time here with the kids and it was a very pleasant experience. The food seems to be made fresh and very tasteful. Our server was very friendly and also very attentive. A bit pricey but I don't care paying for good food and excellent service. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely come back here. read more

Ordered the red dragon roll togo because I was randomly craving sushi and it's basically a california roll with spicy tuna and fried eel on top. Total was almost $16 after tax. While the roll was pretty good, it was definitely not worth the price because it was pretty small. And the fried eel kind of tasted like it was fried with old oil. I might come back in the future for ayce (I'll update the review if I do), but I don't think I would order togo again LOL oops. read more

This is our family's go-to place whenever our sushi cravings are high. The all -you- can- eat choices are so good and at a very reasonable price. Oysters are well prepared and tasted fresh so are the my daughter's favorite salmon sashimi. The servers are very helpful- all of them, and would go the length of explaining what some food items with some queer names are made of ! Just come earlier in the evening probably at 5-6 as the place gets full fast especially on the weekend. Highly recommended! read more

Best Sushi all you can eat in the SGV. A bit pricey but I always leave satisfied. I have a shell fish allergy and this place offers a lot of great options I can have. Their side dishes are outstanding. Love the Monkey Balls and the Avocado bombs. Mexican style rolls. read more

This is a great place for delicious all you can eat sushi! While my family goes for all the spicy items, of which there are many, I love the small portion selections, like the white blossoms.. not a lot of rice to fill me up, just enough to enjoy! Their food is fresh and tasty, service is always quick and responsive! Also, generally you don't have to wait too long, if at all, to get seated! For an great AYCE restaurant, this is worth a visit! read more

While browsing around for sushi restaurants nearby as we headed home from a local amusement park, we stumbled upon Sushiholics and wow was it an awesome choice. We went for the AYCE deal and that costed only $26.99, which is pretty good knowing that it was AYCE. Even though it was a full restaurant, we only waited for around 10 minutes before we were shortly seated. The menu items were uniquely interesting, as I've never seen fruits being put on a sushi before. The Cha-Cha Roll was the one with the strawberries, and surprisingly, it was a nice roll as everything went well unexpectedly. The Oh Honey was probably my favorite roll and definitely go for the VIP Salmon for their nigiris; trust me on this one. Regardless, all their rolls and nigiris are satisfying and they tasted fresh as well. The service was quick and attentive, despite having a full restaurant, so that was a positive. It was no wonder that a restaurant like this would be so packed since everything was tasty and delicious. There are other reviews about this place regarding bad service or so-so food, but during my visit at least, it was an amazing experience. My friends and I definitely made this our go-to spot if we are ever in the area. read more

Went here on a Friday night with the wife. Placed seems to be pretty busy. We were able to sit at the sushi bar since all the table were taken. AYCE is $26 for dinner which about the usual price at other AYCE sushi spots. First experience here was ok. The service could of been better. Usually have to flag someone down for refill and what not. Some orders from the kitchen were forgotten. Also at one point the hostess and one of the waiters were having an argument over seating other guests. The positive however was definitely one of the chefs. He was awesome and really friendly explained some of the orders to us and really quick with the Sushi. He also would check in with us constantly. We also really liked some of the rolls they offer here at Sushiholics. The "Orange Blossom" and the "Cherry Blossom" were probably the best choices on the menu! So much flavor in those sushi rolls. They looked bomb and tasted bomb. The one roll we tried was the "Bay Island" Roll. Didn't feel like the baked tilapia went well for that one. Other than that the other rolls we tried were good. I think we'd come back, but probably request to sit at the Sushi bar for the better experience. read more

First time I came, the food was great. The vip tuna was bomb. Second time, the rice was mush. Way too much water in it. Which makes it hard to spread across the seaweed for rolls, so the rolls were a half in thick of mushy rice. They also leave ingredients out if the rolls like avocado and cucumber and then when we asked about it, they told us after that they were out. They shoved soooooo much crab in the roll that it wouldn't close at the bottom. Like, not even close. So it was a mouth full of imitation crab and mushy, overcooked rice. Gave it a third try and same thing. Its all bad. Has alot of potential but they need to get the measurements right on the rice and retrain their sushi chefs. But after seeing the reviews, it seems consistent. So it must just be how the food is. read more

We paid for three people all you can eat, my husband opted out of all you can eat. My kids barely touched their food. My husband ate some and they came and told us we would have to pay for husbands all you can eat. So instead we are suppose to throw away all this food. One of the few left of the AYCE sushi businesses. Came in around 1:30 on a Monday for lunch with my gf, and was told they close around 3 for lunch. Price for their AYCE came out to be a little under $40, but I think it was well worth it seeing how full my gf and I came out of this restaurant their fish tasted very fresh, and I really enjoyed almost all the rolls and nigiri that we ordered, such as their VIP salmon and regular salmon nigiri. Unfortunately their West Covina roll with the soy paper wrap didn't taste right, but other than that, I did not regret any other entree we ordered. I'll definitely be back for more AYCE. read more

This place was not bad! Pricing is pretty comparable to other AYCE spots I've been to. Walked in and was told that we could sit anywhere we like and that they'd bring us some menus. Great place to come when your craving some sushi, sashimi and a touch of baked green mussels (my personal favorite). I was excited to try this place because of all the good reviews. Sad to say, it didn't live up to the hype. My boyfriend and I came on a Thursday night and maybe they were short-staffed but the wait for our dishes was very long. They even forgot a few dishes we ordered. As far as the food, the rolls were okay. We got the Dookie Roll because I read good things about it on Yelp and it was alright, way too much sauce for my liking. I liked the Mango Lovers, I'm just a sucker for salmon and mango together. The Breath of Fire was our least favorite, we had to send it back because we couldn't eat it. The mix of flavors didn't go together at all. The one positive thing is that their nigiris were pretty good. They don't overdo the rice and give a decent-sized slice of fish. We were seated in a cozy booth and our server took our drink orders. Pop music from the 90s/2000s blasted from the speakers but it created a fun ambiance! We ordered hot sake, Sapporo beer, chicken karaage, gyoza, yellowtail carpaccio, a chicken teriyaki bento box, tonkatsu ramen, and two different rolls (Baja and Bomb Diggity). Everything came out paced well and our server was awesome. We never went without and we were checked on plenty of times. Food was fantastic - the yellowtail tasted so fresh and the sushi rolls were "bomb diggity"!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try different items from their menu. There is literally something for everyone but the menu also isn't overwhelming. Parking was easy and plentiful on a Sunday afternoon. This was a 5-star meal for sure.

The wagyu paired really well with the rice and each bite felt super indulgent. The Wagyu Sunshine was a nice contrast because the mango salsa added a refreshing citrusy brightness that helped balance the richness. We also ordered the Ginza sushi platter, which was beautifully presented with each nigiri coming on its own plate. The fish tasted fresh and buttery and made for a fun presentation. The chicken katsu was another solid dish -- crispy on the outside while still juicy inside. Also worth mentioning: they have a sushi roll deal where the second roll is 50% off, along with beer and sake specials which make it even better for groups. Overall, a great spot if you're craving sushi, wagyu, and izakaya-style food with plenty of options.

My appt was at 1:30pm and I got to Yashima around 1:40pm. I didn't realize they closed at 2pm but I needed my fix so went in anyway. Not one mention of the time and never rushed me for my order. I knew what I wanted already and ordered almost immediately, but didn't get my food until about 1:50pm. Everything was still cooked to order and tasted great (lunch special with salmon teriyaki, tempura and sushi + an extra order of tako). I eat pretty fast normally and finished right around 2pm. I asked for the check when the server was asking me if I wanted anything else and mentioned that I saw they closed at 2pm and wanted to get out of their way. She was very appreciative but never once made me feel rushed or like I stayed too long. Anyway, I really appreciate the extra level of service and professionalism. Pro tip: they have their own website for ordering takeout and delivery. Will have to try that soon.

We mentioned it was our first time and may we have sometime to look over the menu ? Ok and she left, she came back 30 seconds later, are you ready to order? NO the menu is huge and we need about 5 minutes please. One minute later she said OK what would you like to order ? My husband said, please can we have sometime to look over the menu I do not know yet. The waitress STOOD there staring at us waiting for us to decide what we want. My husband is on page 2 of the menu it is just so big you can't read it all in 30 seconds or one minute.! she wouldn't leave our friend. Finally looked at her and said just a few more minutes please and she just left.. she comes back and we asked for two separate checks before we ordered. I asked for my soup to go to the daughter and it came to me anyway I just gave it to the daughter instead.. the table area where I was sitting at was so sticky and dirty. It was gross one napkin and chopsticks. Never asked if we wanted more napkins or a fork or knife or anything else once we ordered, and our food was brought to us you never heard or seen her at our table again until we asked for our check & to go boxes as she was visiting customers at the sushi bar and very attentive to them. When everyone was finished with their meal and needed two takeout boxes, we asked her for them she said OK but she really was interested in the people sitting at the sushi bar and hugged on them and talked to them and we never got our takeout boxes so then we waited 20 minutes 25 minutes comes and my husband gets up and goes to the owner and says can we have two takeout boxes please? Oh yeah sure so we get them we box up our food we asked for our checks. Another 20 minutes goes by. No check after waiting 30 minutes again we get up and ask for the check, you stand there and stare at us waiting to take our order but we never see you again once our food comes and you never finish what you're doing before you go to the next table if you can't multitask then don't do it please. When the food came, I was shocked at the size the tuna rolls they were so tiny. A snail is bigger. I was un impressed with the food. Nothing had any flavor to it. No salt wasabi that was on my plate was so small it was the size of a dime!!!!! and we love our wasabi! What a joke! The restaurant is so tiny and so loud and then they had a singer to celebrate their restaurant anniversary there which was beyond loud. Tables weren't full, but yet people were standing and waiting to be seated. That made no sense.. I am not a fan of TV's on the wall's at a restaurant. Sports bar's OK but not at a restaurant specifically when there is NO Sound. If you are a local and you come to this restaurant often, then the female waitress will love you! If you're new to the restaurant, she'll stare at you and until you order food and then ignore you once your food is handed to you. We will Never be back? Never ever again you couldn't pay me to come back to this restaurant ..! Do I recommend this restaurant in Covina absolutely not no way know how not even if it was free.!!!!! What was good about our experience, the beer, the company and the fact that we left.! Yay.!!!! FYI: my to box is in the trashcan. Once the drink and appetizer order is taken, Please do not approach a table until the menus are set down. Please clean your menu's and tables. First impressions are everything and our experience here was horrific. !!!! Please read other reviews about our server and the quality of the food. I am clearly NOT the only one thinks the serve lacks customer service.! And agrees about the lack of flavor regarding the food. Go elsewhere.

THE DH is one of a kind - dry aged beef that doesn't actually feel like ground beef but like they minced it by hand so each bite feels like it still has the texture and mouth feel of thinly sliced minced beef. It is juicy to the point that the aju was dripping down my arm, yet it wasn't greasy. The outside was crispy like they let the grill carmelize the outer layer of the patty and then they left the inside ever so slightly pink (it's not normally my thing and it's not for everybody but for THIS burger I make an exception). The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside like shoestring fries and the inside was like slightly firmer than mashed potatoes - not soggy, crispy yet soft. Ask for ketchup and they bring out the bottle with a smile like you know what you're doing. Service: friendly, knowledgeable about the menu (they've tried everything and can tell you what's what), they look like they're having a good time, are attentive if you need something but also know when to leave you in peace to experience everything the burger has to offer. Ambiance: it is in a food hall similar to Rodeo 39, the bar seating is exactly what I wanted, Amboy's particular stall had the right vibe, was the only place playing good music, and of all the food stalls their service members were the only ones not on their phone and were the only ones who looked like they actually might like their job and being there rather than anywhere else in the world.
