Been a customer of this place for a while. Called in to make order for pickup. First of all. I heard the workers on the phone talking and some guy literally said "that's it. After today I'm quitting I've had it with this place". Instant red flag. Secondly. I was asked to be placed on hold for what was almost 13 minutes. And then to make it worst, they hung up on me before I even ordered. I asked repeated for light on rice and extra ginger Picked up the order. The rice was so heavy. It was like eating a blob of bread. Disgusting. There was NO GINGER. they also proceeded to not put ANY wasabi in there. The quality of the food was horrendous. The fish was all dry like it was old and the entire roll was nasty in every way. We threw away the food immediately. When we tried to express to them how bad the food was, they literally told us there was nothing they can do. What god awful service, food, and you know it's a bad sign when even the employees hate their job to the highest extent. Making the customers food taste as awful as possible. read more

It's ok and has a unique set of options to choose from. Would not recommend if you're looking for authentic Japanese food. My companion ordered the chirashi and I ordered the sashimi. Both with a side of tempura. The tempura was good! My companion said the sushi rice was too sweet but the cuts of fish on his dish looked decent. The cuts for my sashimi looked smaller in comparison and I was left feeling disappointed. read more

My friend and I ate here yesterday for my birthday. I am a picky eater and have never been a huge fan of sushi, but Sushiko is now at the top of my favorite restaurants. We ordered the crab cakes, so creamy and delicious on the inside and crispy on the outside... dip them in the Siracha sauce......Divine!!! The egg rolls were so tasty and came with a very nice peanut dipping sauce. I don't care for seaweed wraps, so they made my Crispy baked crab rolls with rice paper and it was so good, I wanted to eat it all but ended up taking the leftovers to my friend who also raved about how delicious they were. I was very disappointed going to sushiko during COVID times. They clearly had the takeout business but when outdoor seating was allowed they didn't take the extra effort to make dining outside a priority or comfortable experience. Unfortunately, being one of the only kosher sushi restaurants in the LA area they felt it wasn't necessary. Instead, their arrogant attitude and lack of customer service was dismissive and rude. The quality of the sushi is mediocre and the only reason they have customers is due to their kosher status. I try to patronize kosher restaurants to show my support and loyalty. They are totally done for me. They don't deserve my business and I will pass along my bad reviews to others I know. read more

This place is great! I ordered to go around 7:30pm and the service was incredibly fast. They said it would be available in 15 minutes and it was! The sushi was yummy and is the perfect spot for me as I keep kosher, but it's a great spot regardless of it you need it to be kosher. The imitation crab cakes were delicious! The thing I appreciated most about SushiKo is that they gave a bundle of sauces with each roll. It has the usual ginger and wasabi, but also eel sauce and spicy mayo which I love when I'm at a sushi restaurant, but always forget to ask for when I do take-out. It was a nice touch that made the whole meal that much better. I will be returning soon! Really glad this place is in my neighborhood. read more

I feel like the fact that this place is kosher may have skewed the reviews towards the higher end as there aren't a lot of good kosher sushi places (at least in my opinion). I ordered the udon and the noodles were not like the traditional soft yet chewy udon noodles I'm used to. They were flat and thin, perhaps even rice noodles and were more similar to the noodles used in pad Thai. The broth was incredibly sour, definitely not the mild, clean with a hint of soy flavor I'm used too. There was also an overcooked egg in there. I think the name of the soup is very misleading and that it should not be called udon as it is not even remotely close flavor wise. Our server was very nice though so I'm giving this restaurant an extra star. I'd give it another try but would only order sushi. read more

Not to be confused with SUSHI KO, Sushiko is a Kosher restaurant and for that very reason it earns the 4th Star * * * * in this review, otherwise it would be * * * based on the food and the price. It's always nice to find a place that's suitable for all dietary restrictions, be it having vegan, vegetarian, organic, gluten free or Kosher where the mainstream (those without restrictions) can eat seamlessly with delight. So, walking into this place (actually driving, and FYI the parking lot has limited spaces and is tight, a tad difficult to navigate in and out of), I actually didn't know it was Kosher until later on after my meal, and the food was good. It wasn't spectacular like where I rank "Sugarfish" but it was fresh and solid quality and taste. The chopstick wrapper even touts SUSHIKO : Kosher Japanese Sushi & Grill The price and portions were okay, I think after tax and tip, their lunch specials run about $15 on average. If you are going out to eat and are Kosher or accompanying a Kosher (as defined by Jewish law established in the late 1800's), this is a good place to eat at. read more

Tried this place on a whim and at the recommendations of my fellow yelpers. It was within walking distance from my hotel which was the biggest plus for me! It is situated in a little plaza next to Elat burgers kosher burger joint, so u can't miss it. When I walked in the place was empty but that was ok because as time went on the place got more busy. Once I was seated at the sushi bar I looked around at the lovely decor. One wall has this very cool rock wall and the other wall has two tv's on, one which shows them making your sushi roll! Bonus! I ordered some hot tea, the miso soup, and the Ed Hardy roll because that's what I was in the mood for. They also have some pretty pricey sashimi platters and the chirachi bowl I found to be overpriced, even when compared to NYC prices. They have a small variety of saki and beer. They have a huge list of different rolls which I like. Lots and lots of variety for a kosher sushi restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. To start. The parking situation is almost none existent. The service was quick and polite. The food is very bland. I don't know if it's a kosher thing, but their rice tasted very watery and mushy. Yummmiest sushi ! So fresh and delicious !!! The Rexford roll is my favorite with some fresh lemon - reallly is the perfect roll . I also always get the snow roll without rice super delicious and fresh. Because of Covid I order to go all the time and a lot of times I'm very disappointed however Sushiko has always shown to have really high quality standards and always have my order correct which is really important when you wait so long for your order and you're desperately hungry.
