They are coarse, grow in every direction, and have always been a source of insecurity for me. I am incredibly picky, and after many disappointing experiences over the years, I found the brow guru of the California Central Coast in San Luis Obispo. Candice is not only the best eyebrow waxer, tweezer, shaper, and scissor artist I've ever encountered, but she also runs her business with a genuine and humble, no fake BS approach that I absolutely love. She's always on time. Literally come as you are, she's got your brows. Recently, I treated myself to the 40 Minute Brow Experience, and it exceeded every expectation. The slight vibrations through the bed, the sounds through the headphones, and one touch from Candice, took me away so very quickly into a complete state of relaxation. I didn't have to make any effort to quiet my mind. After a year that included a breast cancer diagnosis and surgery, my body has been carrying an enormous amount of stress. For 40 minutes, all of it disappeared. There was no anxiety, no to do list, and no worrying about the future. I was floating on a cloud and was able to feel so present and filled with bliss throughout the entire treatment. And even after, I was walking on the clouds during grocery shopping at a peak hour! First, she toned it to smurf blue, offered to wash it out, apologized that she didn't understand what I wanted because she mixed my wishes up with all of her other new clients and offered to book an appt to fix it three days later if I paid her. Not surprisingly she then tried to change the time, the day and ultimately cancelled on me because she was sick and told me if I wanted to book a new appt, because she was no longer saying she was fixing it, now it was my poor communication, it would cost me 350 dollars. I have heard other people say bait and switch and that is exactly what I felt.

I live in Florida visiting California for a couple of weeks. I got flyer in slo farmer's market about this business 'sushi's eyebrow threading' grand opening. I usually work on my eyebrows back home in Florida at specific place but thought let's take a chance and try it out here in San Luis. I went to this store to get my eyebrows done. Guess what?? It was an excellent experience with this girl on my eyebrows. I was so pleased to see how beautifully she gave an arch and made my eyebrows perfect. I went there to get just eyebrows and ended up doing my full face threading since it was just painless. I felt like I made laser treatment on my face to look clear and sharp. In fact I got many compliments on that. I love that . I usually not a big fan of writing reviews but I couldn't able to resist writing this up because of pleasant experience which was way better than back home. Very reasonable priced and never expect this inexpensive price in expensive California. I really want to come back again again to work on eyebrows but just can't afford my flight lol... There is no better place or person to get your eyebrows threaded. I have always struggled with my eyebrows getting waxed because I get this weird white stripes. I discovered threading when I was visiting family in New York. When I moved to California I searched and found sushi a couple years ago. I went to her all the time and then she disappeared. I went to the place in downtown slo where she used to work and they messed up my eyebrows. Then my friend and I found her located on foothill and we were stoked. She did an amazing job on my eyebrows as usual. Her new place is great with easy access parking. She was a doll and remembered us even though it has been at least or year or 2 since we saw her. I am so stoked that is back. I encourage anyone who is wanting to try or needing a place to get eyebrow threading done go to Sushi's. I have been familiar with Sushi's Eyebrow Threading for years now and I'd have to say that this is an exceptional place. I don't come in regularly, ever since I moved away to college in SoCal but whenever I have a break and am home I make sure to make the 30 minute drive to SLO from my hometown to come here. I don't trust anyone else with my eyebrows so this is my go to place regardless of the distance. Sushi takes her time with your eyebrows and I am never worried about the outcome since she's patient and makes sure you're looking great at the end. She also asks for your opinion as she works so it feels extra comforting to know your eyebrows won't be destroyed (as has been my case with other places). She's a master at what she does and in general, she's a very sweet person and makes the visit very enjoyable. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 12 years. One of the biggest struggles of having your eyebrows sculpted for so long is that their shape and their thickness no longer resembles what was naturally there but is left at the mercy of the eyebrow threader. From countless mistakes and bad decisions made, my eyebrows had become a quarter of their natural size and I was grappling to find someone to thicken them again with care and precision. This is the only place I will go to get my eyebrow's threaded. Sushi is extremely diligent, and truly cares about what you want your eyebrow shape to be. She has been doing my eyebrows for years, and is the only one I trust to keep my eyebrow shape just how I like it :) One of my favorite attributes about her is that before she does anything that would change the shape of your brow, she checks-in with you to make sure it is okay to do so. The location of this new shop is perfect because it is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Slo, and parking is free! When you walk in, the shop smells really nice and is beautifully decorated. The price is extremely reasonable, and she has a 3-month program where you pay upfront for 3-months of unlimited touch-ups, which I recommend! read more

I honestly didn't even know how bad my eyebrows were until I came here. The first time I came, she told me my eyebrows were uneven and helped me to grow them out so by the next time I came and she fixed them, I literally felt like a new person. This whole time I thought my eyebrows looked good but it wasn't until I came here that I really felt good. The price is definitely affordable, more so than the other eyebrow threading places around here so it's a great bang for your buck. If your eyebrows are messed up from another stylist or even if they're not messed up, just come here so sushi can make them look even better! Wow... sushi is honestly amazing. I've been going to her for about two years and she is professional, crazy fast, and always makes sure I'm 100% satisfied before I leave. She seems to know what I want without me really giving any direction. Her prices are unbeatable and her new location is super cute (she moved to a place on broad, no longer on Foothill). You almost forget you're getting your eyebrow hair ripped out by some threads... yes, she's that good. If you're in slo I would definitely check her out. Sushi is amazing! She is so nice and very great at shaping eyebrows. She is accurate and it doesn't hurt at all. I had a bad experience going to the place on marsh. The lady is very slow at the actual removal of the hair so it hurts a lot. And after going there for over a year I started noticing how my left eyebrow was higher than the right. I couldn't fix it with my pencil and it was impossible to look at my face without seeing the shape was horrible and my eyebrows were far from looking similar. I am so blessed I switched to sushi. Sushi is the absolute BEST threader I've ever had, and I've had various threaders in the SLO area, as well as the Portland, Oregon area. She asks you your preferred eyebrow thickness and has you check them after she's done, and they're always perfect. In addition, she really takes her time with you and doesn't make you feel rushed. She's also the least painful threader I've ever had, so 5 stars are well-deserved. She will be at the Foothill location until the end of February and then I think she's moving to a new location on Broad Street in March! read more

She always makes sure that I am happy with how they come out asking me in advance how I want them and is always checking through out the process if I'm satisfied with them which I always am. I've never had my eyebrows threaded before going to Sushi, and now I'll never go anywhere else. Sushi is fabulous! I was not very happy with waxing, The edges of my brows never looked clean, and they tend to grow back rather quickly. Threading is much better. I have had my brows threaded in NYC and London while traveling... Sushi is up there with the best of them! Easy parking at her location on Broad st, near the Thai boat restaurant. She is so gentle, does a thorough job, and always makes sure you are pleased with the results! Sushi did an amazing job on my eyebrows! I have differently shaped eyebrows (one flat and another angled) and she asked me which shape I liked better. She then shaped them both, so they actually looked the same for the first time ever! She also is very responsive - she responded to my appointment request very quickly and I was able to make an appointment for a couple hours later. I would recommend this place without hesitation. Look, I know this whole COVID mess has screwed up everyone's lives....and livelihoods, but holy…read moreheck, if I could give zero stars for the interaction I've just had with the owner Emily at Brow Fox, I surely would. Last month when we were in the middle of the first shut down I literally stopped at the salon and called from the parking lot in an effort to avoid any unnecessary exposure to Emily, her employees, and other clients. I could see people in the business moving about, but no one bothered to answer the telephone. This should've been my first indicator that things were not legit here. But because I have visited the salon before and had a great experience with one of her contractors, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and went ahead and walked in to see if I could make a future appointment. Emily herself finally came to the counter and explained she was in the middle of eating lunch and there is no possible way she could take me that day. Again, I hadn't asked her to take me *that day*, I was simply trying to make a future appointment. She advised she had zero availability for at least the next 6 to 7 weeks. I agreed to accept her first available appointment and kindly asked her to please place me on a waiting list in case anything freed up before then. Then I asked about her availability to touch up the micro blade on my brows at a later date (a $300+ service). Suddenly she had availability three weeks out. Of course I took the appointment and was anxious to have my COVID Frau unibrow whipped back into shape. Skip ahead to yesterday when I received not one, not two, but three request to confirm my appointment for today via email and text nearly back to back. I responded to all three as requested immediately. A few hours later I received an email stating she was shutting the shop down down due to state guidelines. Unfortunately, her email message was not 100% clear and I wanted to make certain I wouldn't miss my appointment which appeared from her email would be one of the last completed before her shut down. I did not want to stand her up, and I also did not want to violate her policy and be charged for an appointment I missed due to any misunderstanding and her communications (she has my card # on file). I emailed through her site but got no response. At 7:30 this morning I received a fourth request to confirm my appointment via email. I immediately called to leave a message at the shop as it appeared her messaging system was having problems. Imagine my surprise when she answered her phone at 7:30 AM! I attempted to explain my reason for calling only to be cut off, interrupted, and barked at in a nasty, unprofessional manner. This was followed by the line going dead, so due to her attitude, I assumed she had hung up on me. Rather than call her back, I simply emailed her just her asking she remove me from her client list permanently. Below is her email response to me along with my reply received this afternoon. I'm also including screen captures in case anybody wants to call into question the validity of her response. While I understand we are all on edge due to the extreme stress and pressure COVID-19 has placed everyone under, her behavior was completely inappropriate and unwarranted considering the situation. I will no longer do business with this woman, and strongly suggest anyone interested in her services continue looking for someone who can manage their behavior and communications in a professional manner instead of lashing out and behaving as if they are the only person in the world who has been affected by this pandemic. They didn't work for me. The countless products to fill in the spot were barely acceptable but all top of the line. I did my research and found that Reeda @ RebeLux was the only person who got outstanding reviews. So I made the appointment. I went in and we consulted a while going over all my concerns and expectations. I wanted a modest job and was very specific about my color and shape. If I can give you a piece of advice... Don't Hesitate!!! At least not if you're going to see Reeda! It's an exceptional way to bring back the shape of your brow and watch your face be transformed. Reeda is a true artist, passionate, precise and proud of her work As she should be! Thank you Reeda!

I had a few questions prior to the appointment and Heather was great about throroughly and patiently addressing my concerns. My appointment was with Fawn and she was not only extremely talented (my brows have never looked better in my life) but she was also wonderful to chat with while also maintaining a very calm and relaxing experience. Basically, 10/10. I had a great time, my brows and skin look better than they have in years and I'm glad to have found such a great local place. If you're considering a treatment for yourself or as a gift, go for it! I really loved it.
