Service has seriously declined and this began pre pandemic and has only declined even further since then. Refills of any kind are rare or non existent. Consider yourself luckily if you can to find a waiter to help you after being seated in less than 10-15 minutes. Once an order is placed it takes a very long time to come and the go round has a very limited generic selection that is primarily coated in sauces. They are lot consistent with closing times and when they do close early they don't notify those already seated in the restaurant. just a hand written not on the door. This was one of the first places at which I tried to become a more regular eater of Sushi. Im a big fan of it, but Ive always experienced Sushi as one of those things you eat maybe once or twice a year. This place easily is one of the worst Sushi places Ive been to in the Portland area. Ive had average Sushi before but this wasnt really even up to that standard. There are far better places to go for cheap Sushi with more variety and FAR better service. Unless a place is packed there really is no excuse for slow service. And Ive been here about 5 or 6 times so it wasnt just an off day or they were just super packed. As someone who used to work here, I can honestly agree with most of the other one star reviews. They've had cockroaches forever because the owner is too cheap to fully keep them under control. There is no system in place to keep track of how long anything has been on the conveyor belt (other than throwing it out once the color of the fish starts to look dull) and the staff are constantly mistreated. If you happen to go there and notice nobody really cares about your complaints, it's because they keep hearing the same ones over and over again and for the most part, literally can't do anything about it to help you because the owner will just blow it off. They really are just there because they need the paycheck. Like I said, the owner is cheap and won't spend any money to keep the place functional unless he absolutely has to. This has a huge impact on how the staff value their work and it is reflected in how they behave. When I did work there (which admittedly was several years ago, so I sincerely hope that this has changed) they only scheduled JUST enough waitstaff for each shift (3 people). So if anyone called out, nobody would be able to take their lunch without leaving the other person to man the restaurant alone. That means that if anyone called out and someone went on their lunch break, that other person would have to take orders, get drinks, run food, bus tables and cash people out at the register by themselves (which doesn't work if there's a line at the cash register and several people wanting to order food and drinks at the same time) I know that this is more of a staff perspective on this location, but I think it might be helpful in clarifying for other customers at least WHY there is such a problem with the quality of the service as well as the food. Just ate here for the first time today; I only wanted a couple of light things so did just that. I got a Calif roll and a couple of crab rolls. My girlfriend got edamame which she really liked, as well as a sesame-covered ball of something. Both were good. It was pretty crowded even at 2 p.m. but we found seats at the bar. I like that pickled ginger is provided right there because I eat it with my sushi. I'd go back maybe;, but not for dinner, only because I can see the dollar signs flashing in front of my eyes. $1.25 for a green plate doesn't sound like much, but they $$ would add up fast if I were hungry or wanted something more fancy. I love this place, who wouldn't love a place with sushi going round and round. It's the lazy person's sushi buffet. Also if you are worried about how long the sushi has been on the train, you can easily see the coding stickers by the sushi chef, match those to the ones on the plates going round and you'll know if it's fresh or not. Every time I've been there it's been great, fresh and lots of selection. They would have gotten five stars had they had more crab, if my memory serves me right I couldn't find any the last time I was there so I had to settle for shrimp and california rolls. Now if only someone would open one of these in the city of Chicago, then I'd be truly happy! Sushi Station is just too far to drive for me from downtown. Maybe I haven't have awesome sushi (I believe I have though) but I think this place is pretty good. As far as conveyor belt sushi goes this is my favorite place in town. When I tried this place a couple years ago, i had only been to one other Sushi restaurant, and that was in Clackamas. At first, I thought it was a little spendy, but then realized that the portions of certain items that I normally order were larger, which more then compensated for the price difference. I've become rather addicted and find myself stopping in several times a month. Not only that, most of my kids (of which I have 4) and even my granddaughter, who's 7, loves their food. the Poke, Tuna Salad, Spicy Tuna Salad, Muscles, Oysters are some of my favorites. I immediately order the muscles when I give the waitress my drink order since it takes about 15 minutes to make, then I start with a nice fresh tuna salad, which is raw tuna on a bed of lettuce topped with crispy onions and flavored with a light dressing. The sushi is pretty standard for the go-around places. I only order to-go so I get to order whatever I want and not have to wait for it to come around on the belt :) MUCH better idea, if you ask me! The prices are very reasonable, you get 3 pieces per plate (more if you get the tuna roll, I think) and it's fresh. The California rolls are good, the salmon isn't fantastic but it's good. I prefer Mio Sushi or Sinju at the Clackamas mall, by far, but for a quick lunch these guys will do! I work across the street, at America's Mattress (223rd and Division) so I've been eating here a lot, I will update as I pick more favorite rolls to try!! Last one was the Alaska roll and it was pretty good :) You have to box up your own to-go if you go in to order it, I always call ahead and go in like fifteen minutes later and they have it ready for me. read more

Last time I came here it was very bad, the sushi on the belt had been sitting out for a long time I could tell bc the avocados were black and the tuna was dry ASF! Same dishes you can get at sushi village or O'sushi or sushi land is almost 2x more expensive! For 2 adults, we eat about $20-$25 worth of sushi elsewhere, but here our total came out to $33 just for eating the same exact things we always do! pretty absurd to me. I've basically been coming here for my entire life. It's a cheap, casual place that offers affordable and hit or miss quality sushi given the price. Most of the rolls on the conveyer belt are either your standby cheap California roll or some variation thereof. Many of them are pretty decent, but a lot of them have weird sugary or mayonnaise-y sauces that don't go with sushi. I like Nigiri sushi (just rice and a slice of fish) so I ordered some last time I was there. It was ok quality fish and seemed fresh. The only problem was that the fish was ice cold! You couldn't taste it that well due to its icy temperature, even though the fish was decent quality. The experience was more like eating a popsicle than any other sushi I've eaten. I almost got brain freeze from it. I explained this to an old guy at the checkout who seemed to be a manager of some sort, but he told me that this was the way sushi is supposed to be. He's definitely wrong, if you know anything about sushi. I get that they want to keep the sushi fresh and safe but usually most halfway decent places well let it de-thaw a little more before serving. read more
