We have eaten there 3 times now, all excellent. The first time I had the Bento Box with Shrimp. Plenty of food and all delicious. My wife had the Tempura Shrimp dinner. The second time, I was more adventurous and had the Bento Box with Sashimi. Talk about "melt-in-your-mouth" sashimi. Wow! The last time, we dragged our daughter, who is a sushi fanatic. i placed an order for delivery via GrubHub n boy, did that come in clutch. back home, we use DoorDash but ABQ doesnt have that (yet?). i ordered the teriyaki salmon bento box w a side of the salmon asparagus tempura roll. i love the way the salmon was made. it wasnt dry, or undercooked. made to perfection! loved the seaweed salad, the CA rolls were pretty good, n the tempura veggies were crispy. just the way i like it. i was hesitant at first to try the salmon asparagus roll, only because ive never had sushi w asparagus in it but IT WAS DELICIOUS. wasnt too saucy, like how some places make theirs. i will for sure be ordering from here again. thank u Sushiya! New to town and found a coupon in Valpak. Didn't use the coupon but what a find!! The food was so fresh and delicious we will be regulars. The egg drop soup was amazing and appears to have no preservatives as well as the main courses we ordered. The California rolls were also delicious and FRESH! My finicky son loved his Hawaiian dish (shrimp and pineapple). The delivery arrived in half of the time we were quoted. Can't wait to visit in person. This is a must try. read more

I have seen Sushiya on Yelp several times but had not tried it. After missing Wasabi, my bento box craving got the best of me. Sushiya did not disappoint. It was a bento box with everything you could want at the bargain price of $10.50. At a Japanese restaurant, I have to order a green chile roll. This one was crispy and fresh. This is a great little sushi and Japanese food place nearly hidden in a strip mall. We have ordered sushi for pick up through the Yelp app twice, and both times it was excellent. My favorite is the salmon skin roll and the sashimi. Highly recommended! read more

Came here at my daughter's request. She'd been here with her grandfather once before and she loved it. It was Friday night and the place was packed. It seemed as though the staff wasn't really capable of keeping up with it being that busy. After walking in, we stood at the front of the restaurant for at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. It wasn't until 2 more people walked into the restaurant that we were seated at the same time the new people came in. Once seated, it was a similar situation. We sat for several minutes before anyone took our drink order, and even then it was with being asked "has anyone helped you yet?" We also had our sushi order filled out by then too. There didn't seem to be any order as to which staff was helping which tables. The couple that arrived and were seated at the same time we were already had their drinks by the time we put in our drink and sushi orders in. They also got their food long before we got ours. When the food arrived, it was great. My daughter had egg drop soup and a California roll. I had Hot & Sour Soup, salmon & ikura (salmon eggs) nigiri sushi, a spicy tuna roll, and a green chile tempura roll. All quality stuff that tasted great. The waitress felt bad about the long wait and lack of attention we received and gave us a free dessert even though we didn't make a single complaint. We had green tea ice cream which was really good. We noticed while waiting and while dining that several other tables were having similar experiences. The staff asking if they'd been helped yet, staff apologizing for the wait or for not checking in regularly. At one point there was so many people waiting to be seated that weren't getting any attention that they were proactive to sit at dirty tables and then wait for them to be cleaned. Since this was my first time being here, I'm not sure if this was a night that was busier than normal for them. Maybe they were short staffed, there was a young girl about 8 years old or so who I assume is family of the owners who was helping with bussing tables and seating customers. This probably would have been a 1 star review but it earned 1 more for the quality of the food and 1 more for the waitress making an effort to make things right without us complaining after noticing the experience we were having. read more

Great sushi at a good price, and the online ordering and pickup is a plus if you're not feeling like eating at the restaurant. I ordered a total of 5 rolls, each was good in its own way, they also provided more than enough soy sauce packets, wasabi and ginger. All of the fish and other seafood was good quality and everything had great taste and overall flavor. The presentation was also well put together. I would recommend to anyone interested in sushi takeout on this area, although there are several in the area, Sushiya has become my go-to. read more

This is the absolute best Asian fusion place in the area. I'm not sure about all of Albuquerque only because I haven't been to them all. Prices are reasonable, cuts are generous and presentation is beautifully done in the evenings. Lunch is a bargain with any of the combos. If you know Asian food you will love Sushiya. A gem! Everything's right here- the food, the service, the atmosphere! A friend and I come every week for lunch and it never disappoints! The service is lovely and warm without ever being intrusive, and once they know you they're practically reading your mind! Everything on the menu is delicious- my favorites are the XOXO with shrimp and scallops that melt in your mouth, crunchy veggies, in a delicious sauce; and, the TNT- a giant sushi roll with scallops and roe- fresh and sweet- a meal in itself. Sushiya needs to be further up the list of Albuquerque sushi restaurants! We love sushi, have eaten at some pretty well known places in other cities, and this place is our go-to restaurant in Albuquerque. You can pay more, maybe go to a place with little boats, but the Chef makes all the difference, and Chef William is kind of an artist. The sushi here is amazingly fresh for Albuquerque. Our favorite is the Sushiya roll, which is up to the whim of the Chef. This generally means whatever tastes the freshest that day plus some flourishes, and is always very delicious. He takes requests, too. It's always a tough decision, because their stir fry dishes are very good too. They have a permanent special called "butter mignon" that is as good as it sounds. Monkey ball appetizers are addictive, and so is the Hot n Sour soup. Really good tea and some nice wine selections, reasonable prices for what you are getting. Please try it, we want it to be around for a long time! read more

We were very surprised at how great this place is! Excellent service, the food was all perfect, great decor, even the tea (both hot and iced) was exactly right. They didn't offer a lot of choices on hot tea, but when you do a perfect job with toasted rice green tea, I don't need a lot of choices :-) The hot and sour soup is spicier than I'm used to, but we shared that and the egg drop soup (which had a nice corn undertone), and it worked out well. The BBQ pork bento box was a beautiful array of flavors, no "generic sauce munge" experience here. And the bento boxes are HUGE, great value. We ended up taking half our food home, so it worked out to be two meals for a very reasonable price. The kung pao chicken was white meat (not a fave) but even so it was flavorful and tender and had nicely sauteed veggies with it. Everybody go here and keep this place in business! read more

This is our most favorite Japanese restaurant so far with my hubby. It's located in Northeast we have our dinner here 2-3x a month. Our dine in experience are very much enjoyable, love their Miso soup -authentic taste and I can give them 5 stars for it! This place is the perfect little sushi restaurant. It is well decorated, dimly lite, and very quiet. My boyfriend and I shared a binto box , a California roll, and a tuna roll. We also had meso soup. The server was very friendly and we received our food fairly quickly. The presentation of the sushi was delightful, fresh and made to order. This little place is amazing in terms of food. I want to give them 4.5 stars. We had four sushi rolls, Buddha belly, crunchy, nob hill, and another that is slipping my mind. Three I loved, the nob hill I did not because it was cream cheese overload! We got a free dessert, which was a nice touch, for "the wait." We weren't waiting long, so I'm not sure why we received a free dessert, but I'll take it. The staff were all very nice and professional. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was the atmosphere of the restaurant. I think of quiet, intimate spaces when I think of sushi on a Saturday night, and this is not that kind of place. TV, completely open room with no seperation (kids were throwing food on the ground near us because the tables are right next to each other) , really red walls and obnoxiously bright recessed canned lights.
