I was in town for vacation with some friends and we decided to try this place out. I'm from Dallas, where there's an abundance of delicious Asian foods, so maybe my expectations were a little too high. We ordered five things and shared so that we could all try a little bit of everything- papaya salad, tom kha soup, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, and panang curry. The papaya salad was decent- the peanut flavor was very strong, but I definitely prefer the Lao's style better. The tom kha soup was probably my favorite- very flavorful and came with lots of veggies! The pad see ew was way too sweet for me and the pineapple fried rice did not have much flavor. My husband and I went here for dinner and we were NOT disappointed. We both love Thai food and try a Thai restaurant any city we go to. We walked in and we were greeted immediately- a table had just got up and they cleared it right away for us. We had an order of the Gyoza which was crispy and yummy. I got the Spicy Basil with Chicken & my Husband got the Yellow Curry with Beef. Both a level 4. My husband said the curry was the best curry he's ever had. My spicy basil was delicious. I came back to Swaddee after a year and I felt like the quality of the food definitely changed since my last visit in a great way. We ordered the green curry, a pad Thai, and the Larb tofu with takeout (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The pad Thai was cooked great and very flavorful with generous portion, including a side of Jasmine rice. The Larb Tofu was surprisingly good, as it was almost like a salad but with deep fried tofu and a mix of vegetables with a spicy kick. Overall, this might be my go to for Thai food in flagstaff over Pato now as my last visit to Pato was so disappointing I gave up on grabbing Thai food for a while. I haven't had Thai food in a long time and a friend recommended I try Swaddee Thai. They were very busy but still got sat and food came very quickly. I got the Yum Woon Sen or clear noodle salad; so flavorful and fresh! It was full of veggies and spice -- so delicious, I finished it all. The fried wontons were just O-K, not worth $9. It was good, but not any more. We have ordered from the place regularly in the past few years. The food was good until the recent few months. The food now tastes flat. The current spicy level 3 tastes like level 1 using the previous standard. Last Saturday, we ordered spicy eggplant to go. They charged us the price for the dinner size (not lunch special price), but when we opened it at home, the food only filled 1/3 of the take-out box. IT IS RIDICULOUS!! Came here for an early dinner with my wife after conquering the behemoth that is Humphreys Peak. Needless to say we were starving and ready to chow! I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken which, compared to other Thai places I've eaten at, was far and away the best. My wife ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken--another excellent choice. Flavorful, filling and hunger-quenching!However, the best thing we ate was definitely the Tom Ka soup. I mean, cmon, the broth is made with coconut milk. Soooo delicious! We're visiting Flagstaff for the week and saw this place while walking around. We are Thai food snobs - while we were speculating on the sidewalk about its quality a woman walking out overheard us. It is the smallest we have ever received. I hated the plating because it just looked like so much was missing. The salad wasn't dried off so it was just dressing and water on iceberg lettuce. The eggroll had more flavor than the noodles. We ordered the pad thai with a spice level of 4 and it hardly tasted like it. Unfortunately, the spice was the only thing at all that gave it any flavor. This food was nothing special at all and we ended up going to go get tacos after because we were hungry an hour later. The Service Our waitress was kind and helpful. She kept our drinks full and the food was out relatively quick. This review went from 3 stars to 2 at the very end. We were getting up to pay but there were no servers in sight. We stood at the counter and kept waiting. Finally, a waitress that had been sitting across from us for over an hour didn't recognize us at all when we went up to pay. We were two of four people in this small restaurant and she started trying to give us a takeout order and didn't understand us when we were explaining that we had been eating here the whole time. My boyfriend and I ordered the same exact thing except he wanted his tea on his check. We said this to her 3 times, she said yes, and then charged my boyfriend for the whole tab. After mediocre food, that was the cherry on top. Overall With better Thai food in town that has bigger portions, with more flavor and better service, it's safe to say I won't be trying this place again. It would be beneficial for them to figure out different plating for lunch to make their customers feel like they aren't missing so much food. I am very understanding and patient when it comes to language barriers, but it becomes a problem when it affects how my credit card is charged. I was still hopefully for the food but it wasn't any better. My boyfriend got the yellow curry and it was so watery and lacked flavor he couldn't even eat it. I got the pad Thai that lacked a lot of flavor as well. I added a lot of sriracha which only helped a little bit. The family and I ate here after hiking the Aspen forest so we really worked up an appetite. This place was clean and COVID compliant! So no need to worry when dining in! We ordered the veggie rolls, chicken satay, tom ka soup (flavorful and aromatic), beef panang, mixed vegetables and sweet sticky rice w/ mango. All of the food was great except the beef panang, the flavor was great but the beef cut and the way was cooked was a little underdone so if you like your beef cooked well make sure you note it! This is probably hands down my favorite Thai place in the Flagstaff area. I came here during lunch time, and I was promptly greeted as soon as I walked in. The decor of this place is extremely cozy and has allot of Thai art and cultural prints on the walls. What is awesome is the fact that they have a pretty good lunch special with a variety of items on the menu. I ended up ordering the chicken pad thai, and I was asked about my spice level and what level of heat I wanted. I took a 4 out of 5, I received a Thai salad with peanut dressing before my main course came out. The salad was extremely delicious and refreshing!!! It peaked my appetite right before the rest of my meal came out. When the chicken pad thai came out, my eyes lit up!!! It looked so amazing, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Overall I was disappointed with this place. The first time I had it was through doordash and I actually liked the Thai Basil beef. However when I went to go in today for lunch, it seemed like to me that the food quality was very poor. I tried the Thai toast as well as the teriyaki beef.
