This place sure had a lot of awesome reviews so my expectation was set really high for quality and flavor. Sadly was let down by the food but loved the decor. Papaya salad was small but had good flavor, the Tom kha gai was really sweet, the Pad See Iew was also very sweet, the Kao Soi curry was really runny and not thick like a traditional Northern style. My favorite part was the mango sticky rice. Not sure why this place has so much hype with every savory item pumped full of sugar. Perhaps the cooks should make a trip to Thailand and re-learn what authentic food should taste like. Don't think I will return. read more

My friend and I went to this place after craving a heavy meal after a long day of hiking and sightseeing in Sedona. This restaurant was well located near Flagstaff downtown so we were able to walk around the cute shops/bars after. The ambience was really good - very well decorated and it kinda makes you forget you're in a mountain town. The staff were not super attentive but it was also a pretty busy night. The food was very delicious. It was my first time trying Tom Ka, at my friends insistence, and I would definitely order it from here again. Probably a 3.5--I'd give them a 4-star for the papaya salad, but the rice was _perplexingly_ bad, which just doesn't make sense and is worth deducting a star. Papaya salad was standard and well-executed. A bit sweet for my taste but I think that's the southern Thai style. Friendly service, small portion sizes compared to other Thai places I have been to before. The drunken noodle was overly chewy but decent. I got level 4/5 spice and thank god I did because I think without it it would have been bland. I added veggies to the chicken and it was good. The red curry was better than the noodles with a spice level of 5/5. It was also the perfect spicy level. For a quick Thai kick in an area where there isn't much open late, this was fine. 03/13/25 - The service was so horrible! I really enjoy coming to this restaurant and have for over 15 years, but the server yesterday made our experience awful. She was impolite, rolled her eyes, did not come back to our table at all, brought and incorrect dish and argued with us when we said we did not order that, left our drinks empty and we noticed her interactions being similar with other tables. I love going to Swaddee with friends and tried to introduce it to someone yesterday but felt embarrassed that it was such an awful experience. Bummer. Maybe next time. read more

Delicous food not the greatest service. We went on a Saturday night so it was quite busy. We were seated in a back table that while it was nice to feel secluded from the noise did frel We were secluded from service. The menu was quite large with a wide range of Thai dishes. I found this place initially because they can do some gluten free. We split some chicken satay in which the sauces tasted just like the streets if Thailand and a seafood sukiyaki which we were surprised to see on the menu. This dish was gigantic and they did not shy away from seafood. It was plenty spicy for my husband and remained boiling hot that it was actually a but hard to eat at first. Popped in here for an early dinner on our first night in town and were seated right away. Friendly staff and great food! We had the crispy veggie rolls and they were delicious paired with the sauce provided- highly recommend as an appetizer! Also had the pad se ew and the cashew chicken. Both were great- filling and hearty, definitely satisfied Thai food craving, but were not greasy at all (which I feel like some Thai food I've had is and leaves my stomach a bit unhappy). This Thai was good, but not my favorite. My cousin and I split the shrimp pad thai and the massaman curry dish. I thought the pad thai was better than the curry. I've had Thai at a few different places in the area and this one is probably my least favorite. Good, but not the best. We got takeout so I can't speak to the dine-in experience though. Review coming from someone in the culinary industry/ Service Industry for 10+ years. It was one woman serving the entire dining room and she did it so well. We sat down immediately and even though the whole room filled up we got our order taken, drinks delivered and food made all within a short amount of time. She checked in on us to make sure our food was good and she was so sweet. The food was delicious we got the pad Thai, spice level 1 and added shrimp as the protein. The pad Thai was a burst of flavor, noodles were cooked perfectly and I love that it tasted traditional. Always to eat your pad Thai right away those noodles absorb the sauce quickly. We also ordered the Roasted Duck Curry with yellow curry and a level 2 spice. The curry was more soup based but it was delicious when you put the rice in that they give you with the curry because it soaks up all the flavor! The duck was cooked perfectly, the curry flavor was perfect and the pineapple adds a nice slightly sweet note. All around perfect. So warm and cozy, broth was so flavorful and not salty, and the noodles and chicken were well cooked! -Steamed Fish: so soft and buttery and flavorful! And it came with vegetables which was a great healthy addition -Mixed vegetables with pork: again a great healthy addition and meat was cooked well and it was a beautiful vegetable medley of tons of different vegetables [Service] Excellent! We wanted hot water and the server noticed we were drinking through our cups super fast so she gave us our own pot of hot water. Yelp gave me this restaurant. We visited it on a busy 3 day weekend, Sunday, to be exact at 1:30 for lunch. The place was hopping, but we were seated right away. We did not have wait too long for our beverages to arrive. (Pepsi products ). Hubs ordered Yellow Curry with Chicken (spice level 3) & I ordered Beef Panang (spice level 5). We also ordered Thai Toast. I wasn't impressed with the toast, it was a little too greasy for me. Even though the place was busy, we didn't have to wait too long for our food. It came out quickly & was hot. I did add more chili to my food - I like it spicy! Hubs said his was just right. He said his was a little too "runny" for him. Ive been on a hunt the last few months to find the best Tom Ka soup in Flagstaff. Something about warm soup in the winter just hits the spot. I think I can now comfortably say Swaddee is the winner. It was flavorful and well cooked, with the right combo of lime and spice. We also got the Yellow curry, Larb, and Pad Thai. All three dishes were excellent. We ordered all with a 3 spice level, which was on the milder side of a 3, but still had a great flavor. We did takeout so can't comment on dine in service, but takeout was quick and easy. read more

Good Thai food in a smaller town. It was great to see quality Thai on vacation. I had the Thai spicy duck curry. The curries and noodles are the popular dishes sold here. The duck was well prepared and hot. I wish the chile tray had the crushed red dust, but they had red chiles and spicy chile paste like Siracha with seeds which was a letdown.
