    Shrimp and Grits

I ordered room service last night and it was excellent. It took a while to receive it but I actually received my order 15 minutes before the due time. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. It was hearty and filling but the flavor was a little bland. I had to add seasoning. I adored the Brussels Sprouts which were delicious prepared with grape halves and toasted walnuts. I recommend the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Tort for dessert. It's light and satisfying to the palate.

Lovely ambiance in the Hyatt Regency Downtown Atlanta. Fresh souther cuisine that has a variety of options on a small menu. As a vegetarian in the south I greatly appreciate menus being marked to notate which options are vegetarian. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive- manager worked alongside his serving staff to insure a seamless meal. I highly recommend.

Sway is two restaurants in one. In the morning, it's a breakfast buffet ($30 per person, unless included in your room charge), or you can order off the breakfast menu a la carte. In the evening, it switches to a gourmet restaurant. Depending on your meal of choice, this can be an excellent or just very good selection. I would say the breakfast buffet is good to very good, just not great. There were some excellent items, specifically the honeycomb from the rooftop beehives, that was absolutely incredible. Other than that, all of the items you would come to expect on a large breakfast buffet. We did dine here in the evening as well one night, along with our vegan friends, and let me tell you, they did an amazing job! The chef came out and described in detail the vegan dishes to ensure our friends were not served anything unsuitable to their dietary needs. My coca-Cola braised short rib was really good, just not excellent but everything else we were served was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend trying this restaurant both for breakfast and for dinner to see what it's like.

Shrimp and grits needs flavor in the grits. Nice shrimp, though.

We used to stay at this hotel and always got the breakfast buffet here, but we were too late this morning, so we went for lunch. I know this place is overpriced because they are in a hotel, but come on: $4 for an iced tea? My shrimp and grits were $26 and did not pass this Southern chef's muster. You can tell they cooked the grits in plain water. If they switched to half broth, half milk the taste would be dramatically improved. The 5 shrimp were well-cooked and flavorful, and the little sautéed peppers and onions and bacon added some much-needed character to the bland grits. Service was friendly and this seems to be a family-run operation, which is nice to see. The sweet tea was still warm when presented, which tells me it was fresh and also that they were unprepared for the flood of thirsty Southerners on this hot day. Hubby's $16 turkey sandwich was well-stacked and packed with flavor. Smoky bacon, tender turkey, fresh crisp lettuce and sliced tomato, with a tangy aioli and a nice slab of pepper Jack. My advice? If you want breakfast here, get up earlier and get the buffet, because the shrimp and grits is the closest you're gonna get after 11am.

We're here for dragon con on Friday night and so we went in here for the convenience. Really should've just had the $15 pulled pork at the food trucks. This was a $30 buffet with literally a handful of items to make cafeteria tacos with dry, cold chicken, greasy beef & the tiny little salad shrimps. Some mushy af vegetable mixture so overcooked you couldn't tell what it was, corn "salsa" & salad with tomato & carrot as your toppings. Dry, chocolate chip cookies & previously frozen cheese cake. Also the tongs were sticky, so gross. They sell $12 dragons nectar mead as well. The service is non-existent. We asked for 2 waters, got one & the server was whispering so I heard nothing she said.

My friends and I were in a bit of a time crunch but we decided to walk over to Sway before heading over to the Georgia Aquarium. The walk isn't too bad (except for the high heat at the time!). The breakfast comes in two options a la carte or buffet. The buffet is $28 but comes with eggs, pastries, fruit, and more. My friends and I decided to go with A la carte. The Sway 2x2 (eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes, grits, and potatoes) was a very filling breakfast! Pretty standard breakfast food. Nothing really unexpected or above average. The pancakes were quite delectable in that they were crispy on the edges but soft still. The bacon was crispy but had a bite so it wasn't overcooked. The potatoes were just what you expect with breakfast potatoes. Lightly fried / baked with little seasoning. It ended up being nice, but a little on the heavy side. The grits had cheddar cheese on top and was pretty bland other than that. Was a good few bites, but felt like a chore to finish after a while. The thing that brought Sway over the top was the service which was fantastic. We had some fun conversations with a number of the staff in the restaurant but they were not only friendly, but very helpful in explaining the menu and the options. They stayed one step ahead where we never had to ask to refill water nor ask for the check. They provided it right as we were finishing up but in a way that didn't make us feel pressured to pay. If you're looking for a solid breakfast within a 15 minute walk of the aquarium and world of coke, Sway is a great option.

Located in the beautiful Atlanta Hyatt Regency, this swanky hotel restaurant delivers on some good southern soul food, with charm and good service. I was greeted by a kind hostess who sat me at a table within seconds. The place is beautiful. It looks brand new. I was greeted by a very nice server within two minutes. They didnt have the IPA listed on the menu so I got one of their cabernets. I ordered the fried chicken because, duh. What else to order when there is amazingly reviewed fried chicken on the menu. I got the chicken with mashed taters and collard greens. The meal came out in about 15 minutes. I was blown away by the flavors of everything. The chicken had a rosemary herbed rub on the chicken. The batter was classical and fried to absolute perfection. The collard greens were super tasty the mashed potatoes were super whipped and the gravy was phenomenal. I am usually skeptical of hotel restaurants, but this spot is super legit. The ambience, service and food were excellent. The only downside is that it was a bit pricey. $30 for the meal (not including the drink). I think it was worth it though. I will def be back next time I am in town.

I decided to have a tapas-style dinner with food from The Works and just had to grab some chicken from Delilah's. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, except when it comes to picking a favorite between the flavorful options. I knew that I didn't want or need a full meal and opted for their 3 whole wing option that came paired with cornbread. The young man who took my order was so polite and patient, as there were a few folks in line and waiting for previously placed orders. He let me know that my order would be ready in about 15 minutes so I took the time to continue my food-finding journey around the market. When I returned later, I had lost track of time and figured I'd just poke my head around their stall to see if my chicken was ready. It wasn't at that moment but I took some time to observe the process. There was only one guy in the open kitchen and prep area creating all of the meals and he was on the move. If I could add smells to my review, this one would smell like fried chicken and cornbread. It was all so fresh! When my order was ready, I only made one other stop before heading to my car to go home to my family... but not before I tested those whole wings from Delilah's. When I say that they were fresh out of the grease? Babehhh. It's like he just threw them right into the basket only seconds before. It was sooo crunchy, so juicy, just a fantastic wing. The hot sauce was a nice pairing but some spice in the breading/meat would have taken it over the top but this chicken was delicious. No notes.

Once my party and I arrived, it took Mr. Ross nearly 10 minutes to greet us. By the time he came over, we were already prepared to order. Our food and drinks arrived, but after that, Mr. Ross never returned to check on our table or ask if we needed refills. Instead, he spent close to 30 minutes standing at the bar talking with friends who were dining there. When he finally came back, we were so frustrated that we simply asked for the check. Even then, our drinks were never refilled. This level of service was very disappointing and unacceptable, especially on a Monday when the restaurant was not busy.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.
