My husband found Sway on Yelp before our visit to Atlanta. It had the best reviews for any place near our hotel. Normally, restaurants in hotels are not that good, so we wouldn't typically eat in one, but the reviews for Sway were just too good not to try it. And we are so glad we did. Thank you, Yelp!!! Not only was the food amazing, the plating was pretty progressive. It was so good, we went back for breakfast the next morning. I didn't think it could get any better, but the roasted apple pancakes were so amazing, we are trying to replicate the recipe now that we are home. This place is great. We were in town for a big convention and had 11 people with us. They sat us together and from the start everything was excellent. We had the chicken and waffles and the southern sampler for apps. Absolutely wonderful. The group had various items for the main course and everything was again great. The favorites were the fried chicken and the shrimp and grits. The desert bar was a huge hit for the team. Basically everything was great. 5 stars all the way!!!! read more

Ok. Maybe it's because I'm coming from NYC, but I wasn't the biggest fan of this place. The food presentation is OUTSTANDING. However, their deviled eggs were average, and the burger was very salty. The coffee was very burned. I loved my sandwich however. the friend chicken sandwich was to die for. Don't plan on returning. read more

Located inside the Hyatt Hotel, beautiful entrance, great clean lines to the decor, love the harvest tables. I had breakfast with my husband while he was staying at the Hyatt Regency for a convention. I ordered the Egg White Omelet with Asparagus and it was amazing! It had goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, and wild mushrooms in it, with a side of hashbrown potatoes. We had excellent service and incredible food. This has to have been the best breakfast dish I have ever eaten in my entire 36 years of life! My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes and was equally pleased with his breakfast. I would eat at this establishment even if we weren't staying in the hotel. It was delicious! read more

This is as good a Southern restaurant as there is in Atlanta! The fried chicken is amazing. They literally bring you the whole chicken. The pimento cheese appetizer is delicious, and the sweet tea actually comes with a piece of sugar cane in it. They have a salad and dessert bar as well. We will be back soon. read more

Good food even when the hotel is incredibly busy (in this case it was DragonCon weekend). Also they were very quick with serving the food which again is terrific when you have a lot of diners coming through your restaurant as well as diners who want to get back to meetings/events. I had the grilled cheese for lunch (the pimento cheese made it) and a side salad. The grilled cheese was good but was a little bland. Bacon would be a welcome addition. The side salad had good greens but otherwise was generic. $14 for the lunch was pricey but to be expected at a high end hotel restaurant because you're paying for convenience. I was disappointed with the service because my server gave me the bill before I was half way through my salad and I had yet to touch my sandwich. I ate after the lunch rush so there was no need for me to be rushed (in order to clear a table). I do hope they normally aren't in such a hurry. This place was incredible. The food was delicious, plentiful, and authentic. If you are are a fan of southern comfort food then this place is definitely for you. I had the shrimp and grits, a pimento cheese appetizer, and an assortment of southern style pies for dessert. Most of my table got the fried chicken (their specialty) and no one was disappointed. Finally, the service was phenomenal from the hostess to the waiter to the busboy (such friendly service is of course expected at a truly authentic southern restaurant so I was quite pleased). Great place! Unexpected that a hotel (Hyatt) restaurant would be so good. We shared the buttermilk fried chicken (because the portions were so generous) and it was delicious. Cornbread and biscuits were light, hot and yummy. The best part though was the service. We had two waitresses doting on us and were treated to pecan and oatmeal (yes oatmeal) pie and a "bucket if love" ice cream that was incredibly good. Had lunch with my family while downtown, in the lobby of Hyatt Regency. Excellent food and service. Not a fan of the decor but the food makes up for it. We had shrimp and grits, Cobb salad and chicken sandwich. All excellent. The best part is we came back later for their pie buffet. $9 for all you can eat, pie and ice cream. Delicious. My husband and I are staying at the Hyatt and on our last night we decided to have supper at the Sway. We oedered 2 drinks and my husband had the fried chicken and I had the grilled chicken, mine came out with a little pink inside so they took it back and brought me a new meal. Checked out this gem that I walk by at least 4 times a week for the past 7 years! I have totally been sleeping on this place. Even passed it by on the Dwnt ATL Restaurant Week. I friend from a little further out picked it & man am I grateful. Let me start with the service we were greeted immediately and our service through out the evening was nothing less than outstanding - thanks Zorica! She was friendly and still professional and not stuffy at all! The staff represented the chefs well. I mean the food was great! The food was good, but nothing memorable. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the pan fried grouper. The portions were large and neither of us could finish. I deducted a star for the amount of butter used in the shrimp and grits. I'm a Southern girl and love butter, but for flavor, not as a meal. I honestly think there were a couple of sticks of it in my bowl! The second star was for the cleanliness of the restaurant. Located in the newly renovated Hyatt Regency downtown, this newly opened Southern inspired restaurant is pretty hip for a hotel restaurant. Now Atlanta happens to have a lot of pretty good hotel restaurants and this is definitely among them. Atmosphere - very cool modern take on a down-home food restaurant. Despite the vast and sparse atrium of the Hyatt, Sway has managed to create a warm comfortable space. Smooth simple wood floors and tables - comfy prairie-style chairs, and table set inspired by grandmas kitchen fiesta-ware - but cooler - evoke a family restaurant while maintaining the updated style of the recently renovated hotel. And they have an open kitchen with one of the most amazing stoves I've ever seen - one of only 50 like it in the world. Service - our server was straight out of Gone With the Wind, and I mean that in the nicest of ways. She was delightful and knowledgeable about the menu. Food - They start you with corn muffins with butter and tomato jam - no, it's not ketchup - it really was jam and surprisingly good. The menu is all Southern inspired takes on the classics - fried chicken seems to be the specialty, though I didn't try it. They've got everything your granny served - pickles, deviled eggs, pimento cheese, chicken & dumplings, a Georgia "hot brown," fried chicken, several types of fried fish (salad, entree, sandwich) and a daily veggie plate. I had the Cobb salad with fried chicken tenders - really good - would have preferred blue cheese to the shredded cheddar, but that wouldn't be in keeping with the Southern theme. My lunch date had the fried fish sandwich (he requested the flounder instead of the catfish on the menu) - it looked great and he said it was. They make pies on site, choices today were peach cobbler, pecan, chocolate cream and coconut cream. We shared the chocolate cream. Now, this was not what I would consider a chocolate "cream" pie - no whipped cream in there at all - I'd call it straight-up chocolate pie - very very rich and GOOD. The crust was great and it had some nuts - delicious. It also came with homemade vanilla ice cream that was OK. Price - food prices I'd say are average for downtown hotel fare, expect $14 for entree, $6 for pie. The drink prices are ridiculous - $4 for iced tea or coffee. Next time I'll drink water. But reasonable considering it was great atmosphere, terrific service and really good food. Nice addition to downtown choices. I'll be back. read more

Food was reasonably priced with good portion sizes. Very nice atmosphere and friendly wait staff. They went to the other bar in the hotel to make my friend a drink and to get a different bottle of wine. They did get a bit overwhelmed with what seemed like a small number of guests in the restaurant. It took a little longer than we hoped to get our checks delivered to the table. My friends pork chop was delicious...very moist and tasty. I had the fried chicken which was very well cooked, but nothing fantastic. I don't know that I would claim it to be there best meal. We would return for the atmosphere and the wait staff. I would try something different on the menu next time. read more

The waitress that we were lucky enough to have, Antoinnette, was one of the best waitress says we have ever had. The service was incredible. When I said that this was my first time in Georgia and I was surprised that there were no peaches, our waitress went and made me a peach dessert herself. What on earth possessed me to try shrimp & grits I don't know. I actually meant to order something else but said this by mistake. What a glorious mistake it was. This is probably hands-down my favorite dish I have ever had. As in ever. I didn't even know I liked grits that much - but the combination of the not overly spicy creole broth with chunks of andouille sausage and small bite-size shrimp was heaven. While staying in Atlanta I was yelping different styles of restaurants and was surprised that Sway kept popping up. We were staying at the Hyatt Regency and it was in the lobby. We decided to have breakfast. We were met at the door by extremely friendly staff. We had the option of buffet or menu. Waitress was extremely helpful and pleasant. I got buffet, my nephew ordered off of the menu. Both of our meals were very good. You could tell that the non-buffet food was a step above. Wish I had gotten what I was looking at off of the menu. However we left fat and happy and would recommend to anyone coming to Atlanta. read more
