I have come here many times and enjoy the food. They have the best potstickers in the cities. The Kao Poon is very flavorful and quite filling. We order the sweet basil noodles, Tams beef and potatoes, and the pad Thai regularly. I'm not the biggest fan of their pho. This is definitely a fussion restaurant of Vietnamese and Thai. I had ordered Red Curry expecting the lovely stew that is custom for Thai food, but that was not what I got. It was a stirfry, so I had ordered it a little too spicy since this dish did not have all the coconut creaminess. The food was tasty, just not what were expecting. This is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn Park. The staff is friendly and efficient with a family feel. Their cream cheese rolls are to die for. My go to dish is the Pad Thai, it never disappoints and there is nothing like it! Lunch specials are a good price and well portioned. Dinners are huge and are worth two meals. read more

I have seen the buffet sign in passing a few times but never actually had the courage to give it a try, today I did and I regret it. Gross. The offerings are very limited in the buffet which granted it is only 8.99, but still, put more then watery stir fries in the mix. I forced myself to try them because I was hungry but after a couple spoonfuls I couldn't handle it. The only dish that was semi decent was the panang curry, which honestly was probably ok because the can the curry came from made it decent. I payed attention to people who had ordered dishes from the menu and it didn't look much better. Sadly this is a never again on my list. read more

Ordered online through Yelp; restaurant called me saying they were out of my appetizer but were unable to refund me. (*Note to self: never order through Yelp again.) I do like this place a lot, and have done take out from here many times. Today I have the lunch buffet a shot and it was good. The egg rolls were excellent and anchored the show. The chicken in peanut sauce was very good, the pad thai which is normally my take out choice and let very spicy was a bit too bland to get the fifth star. This is common for buffet pad thai noodles though and why even at four I can say this was worth the price and more importantly the visit. read more

Worst Thai food in Brooklyn Park. We ordered the red curry, got a plate of stir fry instead. We questioned it and was told that chef confirmed it wad red curry. Waitress claims she doesn't eat red curry so is not familiar with it. How does a grown Asian woman working at a Thai restaurant not know what Thai red curry is? We're Asian ourselves. Do they think we're stupid? Worst part, we even got charged the wrong bill. Had to question them to get the difference back. This is our new favorite in the northern 'burbs. There's a great combination of cuisines here, all of my favorites. There's Vietnamese pho, Thai noodles and curry, and Chinese-style stir-frys. In two visits, we've had the spring rolls, pot stickers, pho, Pad Thai, and a green curry dish called Jungle Curry. Everything was tasty, warm, quickly served, and memorable. This is on my list of places to come back to, again and again. read more

We have ordered from this place several times as it's only a mile from us. It's great. I love the mock duck lo mein and my husband loves the sesame chicken. The eggrolls are really great too (only Vina's eggrolls are better in my opinion). Lots of Asian places serve food that is heavy and has a bit too much oil - but this place seems to be a little more authentic. Great service, good prices, yummy food! read more

I've been coming here, off and on for several years. The place is usually empty when I"m here. The servers are friendly and quick. If you want bang for your buck, come during lunch for their lunch special. The food is ok. There isn't anything spectacular, but for the price, I'd say it's pretty good. Some items I like: chicken pad thai, cream cheese roll, wonton soup. I've had a friend order their papaya salad and it tastes pretty good, but I've never ordered it myself. Overall, I think this is a decent place to go when you're in a crunch...if you live around the area. read more

Chicken in Spicy Peanut Sauce, and the Egg Roll salad are both delish! I order from here at least once a month and those are definitely the go-tos! I really like that they recently started putting the food in more of a Tupperware style of container because sometimes my Spicy peanut sauce would leak all over the to-go bag and the sauce would all sit at the bottom of the carton instead of mixed in with the chicken and veggies. read more

I meet a buddy occasionally for lunch. He lives in Brooklyn Park so we went to Sweet Basil. I was impressed. The restaurant is small but very attractive. Our server was super. And the lunch prices are VERY reasonable, especially given the quality of the food we had that day. I had the Spicy Peanut Sauce with Chicken. It was delicious. My friend had the Spicy Red Curry which he liked. The raves by other posters about the egg rolls are justified, and they come as a side included with lunch entrees. Don't miss them. For the amount of food and the taste from this restaurant you could just buy a couple of lean cuisine meals - it would taste about the same. The chicken broccoli had approx. 1 oz. of chicken and one small broccoli flowerette sliced into 4 pieces. There were 4 pea pods (not fresh but frozen ones). All- in-all it was bad news. Went here with a party of 8 last night to get dinner before volunteering. It took an hour and 20 minutes for our food to come out. There was only one person waiting for a to go order when we arrived. All we ordered was shrimp fried rice and two orders of sweet and sour chicken. People who came in after us were able to eat there food pay and leave before our food arrived. The waitress even had the nerve to tell us this isn't fast food. I could have understood 30-40 minutes for us to get our food but not and 1.4 hours. Extremely disappointed and we missed our volunteer event that we were scheduled for. The sweet and sour chicken was also over cooked I will never be back to sweet basil. If you have plans do not come here because you will miss them. read more

Really good pad thai. Their bubble Teas are pretty good too. Love the mango one. Their curry noodle isn't spicy so you will need to add more dry peppers to it. Portion size is pretty decent. It's not the biggest or the smallest. Summer rolls with asparagus are pretty good, although they are small compare to other spring rolls in Brooklyn Park. read more

The egg rolls are don't go without - fabulous. The tofu pad thai (with a little extra heat) is delicious. The Yellow curry (also requested a little spicier) was divine. Oh my gosh!!!! I love pad thai, like loooovveee, I was recommended to try this place by a family member and I just had to go because of how she raved about their pad thai. I thought to myself, it cant be that amazing. Well friends...let me tell you, IT WAS THE BOMB DIGGITY!!!! The pad thai noodles was not hard like some places and was not gummy. It was perfect and I ordered mines to be medium spiciness. Yum! The sauce for the pad thai was all the right kinds of flavors married together. I also had the chicken wings regular fried, they were also heavenly! The spring rolls were really good too. I have yet to try the cream cheese rolls - they are rolled up like mini spring rolls in a light egg pastry sheet and fried to perfection. I ordered them for my fam but didn't get to take a bite for myself because they were gone that quick! If you are looking for flavor and awesome pad thai then this is the place ya'll !!! This place is actually amazing love the lo mein with beef is so good spicy as well. And the sesame chicken my boyfriend got was delicious and so was the sauce that came with it. Definitely coming back here again. It's also very filling. read more

The egg rolls are great! I'd say only Vina in Richfield has better egg rolls. They do a decent job of Asian Fusion. I've been less than pleased with some dishes (Chicken Satay appetizer) but the fried rice is solid, and the lo-mein is very tasty. read more

Food is great here but my only complaint is for the prices they have you would think they would have larger proportions. My favorite dish is there rad nah and they only give a small amount of noodles! All I have is great sauce some vegetables and in the bottom of all that is a couple bites of large chow fun noodles. Great place to go for lunch, they have a nicely priced lunch menu. The portions are perfect for mid-day and the food always tastes fresh. In my experience, you have to ask for it spicier than you want it, because otherwise you'll be underwhelmed with the spice level. What I think should be a 4 spice level, comes out of the kitchen at a 2, so ask for a 6 and you'll get what you're expecting. read more

It doesn't even deserve a 1 star. The waitress was rude. Not just that, we didn't even get silverware with our appetizers. We had to use our damn fingers to eat it! Our food was tasteless. I will never eat here again. If you want great services and people who aren't rude, go to Lemon Grass or Kim Ahn. 110% better than this place. read more
