Located in the same plaza as Haven City market - West Covina. I got their pang jee ($8) -mini banana pancakes, gluay kaek ($9)- fried banana, and khanom buang ($8)-mini crispy savory crepes. I came here after seeing online that they sold khanom buang which is hard to find unless you're in Little Thailand in Hollywood. Large area with a good amount of seating. They also sell various drinks and their Thai dessert menu is a good size. The staff is nice and the place is clean.

This plaza is popping now with the influx of businesses, already popular community staples like BMC and the grocery store, and of course Haven City Market. I believe several boba places used to exist in this place, so I'm hoping that Sweet Bee stays and does well since it truly is a pretty unique dessert place. Lots of imported Thai sweets and snacks and at times, I believe that they also have imported durian in the fridge in front, but this was sold out when I visited. Very spacious, relaxed, and clean space. Lots of big booth seating if you're ever there with lots of friends or family since it makes it easy to share some sweets together. The lady working there was super sweet and friendly and carried out or order to us while we were waiting for to go. She also offered her recommendations on what's popular, what's new and much more. There are lots of things that are out of stock too, either out of season or truly sold out (I can imagine with how unique a lot of the dishes are). For our visit, we got the: 1) Thai Pandan Jelly Noodles in Coconut Milk: -I got this in large size and it was more than enough to share between 4 adults. -The milk thins out the thickness of the coconut milk, but still very sweet and flavorful. The jelly noodles are super long so make sure not to choke and to chew thoroughly. Can get a bit tricky to suck it through the straw regardless. Not bad and reminds me of a drink version of a Vietnamese dessert. Definitely decadent and more of a dessert drink than anything. 2) Khanom Buang: -Thai crispy pancakes. A MUST get here. -I got the small size which was still very generous. We got around 6 pancakes, I believe. -Crispy on first bite but with a nice slight chew to it. There's meringue cream in it, shredded coconut, and a little bit of a salty flavor to it with a citrus taste too. Interesting textures and tastes all mixed into one. This was a family favorite. 3) Woon Kati: -Coconut jelly shaped into cute flowers (sunflowers, daisies, etc.). Came in 6 pieces. -Eat as soon as possible or else you have to steam or heat it up again since it will be a bit harder. Another dessert that reminds me of a Vietnamese counterpart. Not bad. 4) Tako: -4 small cups of Thai pudding with coconut topping and some sweet corn kernels mixed int. -Thick coconut milk topping layer with the added texture of the sweet corn and the Thai pudding part is a sort of gelatinous rice tapioca like layer. Pretty good. This was my second favorite. It did get a bit pricy with all things stacked up, but It's hard to come by unique desserts like this. I'm not a durian person, but hopefully they'll have it in stock or durian desserts so I can have my parents try. I don't mind coming back here to try more of their desserts!

Ambiance - The place feels open and spacious. There's not much seating as they leave a part of the place for a little "snack market" area. It's very clean and really nothing to complain about. Can be hard to find parking because this plaza is crowded. Service - Sweet and friendly. They will explain the desserts to you and give you recommendations if you don't know what to try. It felt slow so I felt bad for my mom who was waiting in the car but the items I ordered are all made once you order so the wait can be long. Food/Drink - Khanom Krok: Unfortunately does not beat out Mae Ting's down in LA. Those ones are amazing and this one just didn't stand up well. They're okay but I highly suggest putting in the effort to drive because Mae Ting's khanom krok are crisp and creamy and so addictive! Khanom Buang: I've never tried these and I'm happy I finally got to! However, it was a lot sweeter than I initially thought. The little shreds have some kind of herby hint to it that was nice but the white cream is incredibly cloying. Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie: Refreshing! Hard to make an awful smoothie, in my opinion. Tasted nice and just the right amount of sweetness. I'd go back, on my own, just to get a chance to try the custards and puddings they have! Just wouldn't personally order the stuff I ordered this time but would love to try other stuff out.

I went to try their khanom pang jee, since it was sold out/wasn't ready the last time I went. What I got did not look like the pictures at all. I've tried this same item at another place in LA and it was amazing there, so I was hopeful this place had a good one so I didn't have to drive that far. Very disappointed.

We came by yesterday for some dessert after walking through Haven City Market. My fiancé had a craving for Mango Sticky Rice and we saw on yelp that this place had some. We came in and this restaurant is nice, clean, and welcoming. The service from the staff was great and super helpful. I can't remember the exact name of the dishes we had but I think it's called bingsu. She got the mango sticky rice version and I got the thai tea boba version. I am not going to lie it was pretty big and it was a lot of food. It was so refreshing and delicious. The coconut cream was salty and delicious but gave a perfect balance to cut the sweetness. It was so good. I can't wait to come back.

I have had Sweet Bee bookmarked for a while. The place has authentic Thai desserts. The place was very spacious. It was immaculate and organized with a welcoming environment. They have plenty of seating. They have drinks, various assortment of desserts, in addition to food menu. They also carry Thai products. I bought some goodies. Shoutout to Nancy. Nancy was very friendly and sweet. She gave us a sample to try. I ordered many desserts; -Gluay kaek 5/5 It's crispy banana fritters with shredded coconut and sesame seed. It was perfectly sweet and very flavorful. - Khao Niew Mamuang 5/5 I ordered it to go. She wrapped the rice separately as well as milk and mango. The mango sticky rice was the best I have ever tried. - khanom Tokyo 5/5 Thai Tokyo pancake. They have different flavors; pandan, custard, Thai tea and chocolate. I loved them all. - Piak Poon 5/5 Pandan sweet pudding. It was fragrant, silky, and creamy dessert. - Pandan in coconut milk 24 Oz 5/5 Thai pandan Jelly noodles in coconut milk. Sweet Bee is a hidden gem in West Covina. It's a must try place. Definitely I will be back.

Sweet Bee is located just a few steps away from Haven City Market. My husband and I stopped by this past Wednesday evening to try them, as I had been wanting to try them since they first opened back in February. We walked in around 7:10 pm and had one party ahead of us. But it sound like the couple in front of us has never had Thai desserts before (as they had told the employee behind the counter that they have only had Thai food but had no idea that there such a thing as desserts). The employee gave them some suggestions on what to order (later on they had thanked the employee for the suggestions because they enjoyed the items they had ordered). Once it was our turn to order, we ended up choosing: Bua Loy (Glutinous Rice Balls in Coconut Milk), $6.75 prior to tax- I like that this dish was served warm and thought it would be good for the cold evening we had on the day I ordered it. But this dessert is pretty sweet so wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for something not too sweet. But I did like it. My husband wished it wasn't as sweet though. Khao Niew Sang Khaya (Coconut Custard Over Sweet Sticky Rice), $6 prior to tax- This dish also came nice and warm. My husband thought this dessert was also on the sweet side, but the other dessert was much sweeter. I liked the coconut custard and thought it paired well with the sweet sticky rice. ----------------------------------------- (Total= $13.99 after tax) When our items were ready, the employee who took our order brought it over to us. I was just expecting to pick it up from the counter, so that was nice that she did that. I initially wanted to order the kanom krok (Thai coconut pancakes) but the employee told me that they are only available on Wednesday... but I told her that today is Wednesday.... so not sure if she meant to say it is NOT available on Wednesdays instead? But anyway, wait time for our items was rather long, we waited 20 minutes for our items. There look to be only 2 employees working, one woman was sitting at a table distributing snacks into a bag and sealing them for sale and the other employee was the one working both the register and making the items ordered. Inside Sweet Bee is also a small market where you can purchase Thai snacks and other shelf stable desserts. Then the rest is just tables where you can sit and enjoy the items you purchased here. There is also a unisex restroom in the back, which was clean during our visit. I think Sweet Bee is a nice place to visit but I would still rather drive out to Los Angeles to Bhan Kanom Thai and Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes for some of the desserts that I am craving and long for.

Went here when they first opened and we just made it coz they were literally already almost closing. They were so nice and still provided us service. Not long after us did more people come in - sorry! Great snack selection and drinks. We ordered the thai tea smoothie and the avocado shake. So good. Will have to come back and try something else.

Nice to have an actual Thai dessert spot, to save you a trip from driving in to Thai town Hollywood. There are just certain things you could never get anywhere else, like the woon kati, thong yoo, and khanom chan. Ovaltine based drinks are pretty damn Thai as it gets. Their tables have a lot of counter space, which makes it a pretty spacious meet-up spot with friends. What I would never order again though, is the kanom klok. It's like a coconut cream mini pancakes. Sometimes they say you can feel the emotions of a chef expressed through their dish. And what was served to me tasted like someone afflicted with depression and economic suicide. I've order kanom klok all over the place, around Bangkok, the Thai Temple in Hollywood, the occasional Thai street market or in Thai Town Hollywood. But I've never been so disappointed by something so devoid of taste, joy, and sweetness.

I actually am thrilled to have a Thai dessert shop a little closer to me. The fried banana was the one thing I look forward to the most. I know I can get this at any Thai restaurant but sometimes it's not always made fresh. When we got it, it was still piping hot but no better way to have it. We also got the kanom krok. Which has always been my go to when going to the other dessert shop in North Hollywood. Also freshly made, my daughter couldn't help but grab it and eat it right away when we got home. We got the pandan coconut milk drink as well and I was only allowed one sip since my daughter honed in on it . Needless to say I'm very happy with the desserts. The service was sweet and helpful. Also patient too. The shop itself is very cute, cozy and also sells Thai snacks that's been imported in. I will definitely be coming back again shortly.

A new Thai dessert spot opened on 2/14. It is located outside the West Covina Haven City Market. Ordered: Khanom Chan - Thai layer cake- similar to Vietnamese dessert. It was perfect sweetness and it was good. Strawberry Banana Avocado Yogurt Smoothie and Lemon Honey drink. Both were refreshing drinks. Friendly staff. Ambiance is nice and very spacious.

Khanom buang Thai crispy pancakes Size small 8 pieces for $8

I was very excited when I heard that this new Thai dessert place opened near me as I've been going to Thai town to get desserts. It's great that there is a soft opening special of bogo free drink, but went inside and saw that the pandan coconut milk drink is excluded so I didn't order any drinks as I didn't want any smoothies. Looked at the dessert menu and saw some items already went up in price. I decided to try the khanom buang Thai crispy pancakes. I got the size small for $8 which came with 8 pieces. I was told to wait a minute as the lady went to grab and pack it. I was hoping it'd be nice and hot, but I'd probably have to come in the morning for it? The place is pretty big .. quite a few tables and there's a snack section. Nothing really caught my eye though. Hopefully they can expand it soon and offer more choices. So I finally got to try this Thai crispy pancakes, and.... It wasn't what I expected. I can't quite pinpoint but I feel like it's an acquired taste. This is the first time trying it so it might just be me. I usually buy desserts from the Thai dessert place in Thai town, but I didn't get to try that one so I have nothing to compare to. Overall, this place is big, clean, and the lady was very nice. Hopefully there are more desserts to be added to the menu in the near future so I can come back.

So excited that we finally have a Thai dessert spot closer. I dont have to drive all the way to Thai Town or the temple. Sweet Bee is located the same plaza as Haven City. Employees are great! They recommended lot of great options but i only got to try 2 of their desserts. Tako - 5/5 Thai Puddle with Coconut and sago. Piak Poon - 3/5 Pandan Sweet Pudding. It was good but the pandan flavor was not that strong. I also bought a box of Thai crispy crepe. The employee did tell me that it tasted like crackers and it does! Next time I have to get the fresh crepe. Can't wait to try other desert options!

They let me know all the different desserts and options. They also explained pricing and availability to me. They showed me all the different toppings that they have for not just ice cream and sundaes, but crêpes as well. Considering I walked in here, thinking that this was strictly an ice cream place, they have a very large menu. One thing that I remember very fondly about my visit here was not that there were a lot of people here, but the people that were dining in, they were mostly families with children. That may not seem like an important thing, but to me, seeing that is precious More often than not, you see children, their parents, and even their parents parents. So sometimes you get a small group of people, but really you have three generations. Quality time like that is absolutely precious and to see them so engaged in conversation with one another and laughing the entire time and sharing dessert, that was so awesome. Sharing ice cream with my dad at an ice cream parlor near our home is a very fond memory for me. So I guess that's why I paid attention to this while we died at scoop Street. When I took a moment to take a step back and look at our little family, we also were there in our lil three generational group: me, my kiddo & my Mom. The prices here are more than reasonable. The ice cream that is used for their desserts is from thrifty. The waffle cones are made in house and smell amazing. There really wasn't anything more than I could've asked of this visit to the ice cream shop. This was so special. Servers: Art & Austin

Ironically, Churro Boss (Covina) offers better quality ice cream than churros. I arrived at Churro Boss (Covina) on Sunday (around 2:35PM). Staff is very welcoming and attentive. Staff speaks English and Spanish. Staff answered all my questions. I ordered the Churro Sundae ($10). This dessert includes one scoop of ice cream and two six inch churros. I selected the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop. The entire dessert was ready in eight minutes and 16 seconds. The dessert arrived picturesque. The Churro Sundae ($10) is attractive and fairly large; however, its taste is underwhelming. Although it felt like the churros were made-to-order in the backroom, the churros tasted bitter, chewy, and overcooked. These churros also lacked sweetness. Rather, these big churros tasted like chunky breadcrumbs. Fortunately, the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop tasted delicious! It had an addictive crumbly texture. The ice cream also carried a chill and creamy chocolate flavor. Regarding ambiance, Churro Boss (Covina) is lackluster. It feels empty. The only seating is one long counter which had splotchy dried stains and crumbs. The location also has no restroom. Customers need to use their bottle of hand sanitizer or napkins if searching to clean their hands. There's two electric wall sockets in the far corner. And steady country music played in the background. Churro Boss (Covina) tries to be be modern and minimalistic. Overall, Churro Boss (Covina) offers tasty ice cream and pleasant service. Unfortunately, its churros are overpriced and somewhat unpleasant. If searching for some tasty ice cream, this location holds potential. 3.5 out of 5

I ended up walking out and they're not purchasing anything. Years ago when they first opened, I used to work in one of the nearby shops and people that were so kind and reall I used to genuinely care about and support this business, but the customer service has steadily declined. Today, I walked in with my service animal. As soon as we entered, he lay down because it was extremely hot outside. Like most dogs, he was curious about the smells around him, but he remained calm and under control. The employees at the front asked whether he was a service animal, and I told them that he was. While I was trying to place my order on the tablet, no one offered to help me. My dog walked a few steps away from me while still attached to his leash. There were no other customers in the shop. One of the employees told me that if my dog continued to pull against the leash, she would have to ask me to leave. After noticing my reaction, she quietly added that I could leave him outside. I simply replied, "No, thank you," and walked out. I understand the importance of maintaining health and safety standards and following company policies, but the way this situation was handled felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. My dog was not bothering anyone, and there wasn't a single customer in the store. Businesses should also understand that service animals are protected under the law and generally cannot be excluded simply because they are present. A service animal must be under the handler's control, but asking someone to leave under these circumstances was disappointing. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
