DO NOT COME HERE: I had to hop on and writ this review after the customer service I just received today (02/15/21, 6:30PM)! 1. We only received part of our order after 60+ minutes! I've been to the other location in Williamsburg. The food taste the same but the ambiance is different. The location in Flatbush is more like a chill/ laid back environment. I got the chicken with bacon cheddar waffles and it def hit the spot. If you come to sweet chick you will get a taste of the south. This is one of the few places I know that's really following COVID protocols. The fried chicken is not your average fried chicken. The skin is buttery and crispy and the inside is juicy. While in Brooklyn, we stumbled upon the original! Famous for its chicken and waffles, we obviously had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! Definitely one of the best chicken and waffles I've ever had! The waffles were light and buttery, and the chicken was well seasoned (we tried it spicy!), so juicy, and just delicious! We also tried the sandwich form of the spicy chicken which was also delicious! I don't know what they do to their chicken but it is so good and full of flavorAlthough we only had the strawberry rosé, (which so good, fruity yet had a great kick to it) They have a great selection of drinks authentic to Brooklyn. Sweet Chick first-timer and I get the hype!!! Nothing like a nice post-vax Sweet Chick brunch! We arrived just in time for the breakfast menu, and ordered the Blueberry Muffin Waffle, Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit sandwich, and the Waffle Hash Brown Breakfast Sandwich (egg, cheese, and sausage). Mm, mm, no complaints here! All three were delicious, super filling, and packed with flavor. My waffle hash brown was fascinating and as best-of-both-worlds as it sounds, although it did start to fall apart towards the end and made it hard to eat--but no less delish! We also had mimosas and bellinis, which were actually pretty strong and hit the spot. We arrived just before the crowd so we snagged a table but then it got HECTIC. I've wanted to visit this place for quite some time-- so when my mom asked me what I wanted to eat, I suggested this place. I was off on Friday from work, so I thought it would empty, but I was surprised when I noticed the place was packed around 12:30. However, to my delight, they asked for my name and a seat became available in two minutes. The place was completely full was people eating, along with many other waiting for a seat but the place was never too loud or overbearing (+1). The server was friendly and came over took our order, I went with the eggs and home fries and added an order of cheddar grits. My mother went with the grits, home fries abs bacon. The food came out within a matter of minutes (+1). I was pleased with the food and my spiked lemonade (+1) I had recently taken my mother to Soco for her birthday, and she said she enjoyed the food here much more, but I paid double the price there, opposed to the cost here, so that's surely another a positive (+1) All and all, I really enjoyed my time here, I feel like the pricing is very fair, but as the location isn't the largest, you probably will have a wait time for a weekend brunch. read more

I honestly left full & ready to look at some beautiful art. The ordering system is simple, you scan the QR, order through there & pay as well. I decided to get the Chicken & waffles. The way the chicken was made, I'll say it was pure textbook. The breast is the most difficult to perfect because it can easily become dry. However, mine was juicy, flavorsome & it was marinated very well. The batter was also crispy. The chicken came out fresh & you can see the steam when you're opening it up. I was craving a chicken sandwich and Sweet Chick did not disappoint. I had the BLT, and it was delicious. You can tell that the meat was brined, and it was so juicy. On my second trip to get another chicken sandwich, I also decided to get a side because the sandwich is a little on the small side. I ordered the Mac and Cheese. I have to say that I've had better box Mac and Cheese. You can barely taste the cheese; it was more akin to butter noodles and just as bland. I could also do without the crust on top. Still, I'm not deterred from getting a chicken sandwich, and I think I'll try a different side next time I'm there. Now the customer service. My friend put me on to this restaurant the last time that I visited New York. I had never heard of it before, but it's really popular among New Yorkers. The restaurants are supposedly co-owned by Nas, which explains the hip hop motifs. I started off with the Christopher Wallace, one of their specialty cocktails. Highly recommend. It's essentially an Old Fashioned, and it's named after one of the greatest rappers of all time. If you know, you know. As for food, I began with a fried dumpling appetizer. It was a seasonal option that was only available for a limited time. I can't remember everything that was in it, but it was delicious lol. For my entree, I got the cordon bleu chicken and waffles. It was absolutely delicious. I chose a savory option, but they also have sweet versions of the classic chicken and waffle dish. My date ordered the pork tenderloin and grits, another one of their seasonal options. Only available for a short time. She wasn't really feeling the pork that much. Luckily I was there to finish her leftovers. I liked my choice better tho. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Sweet Chick. Sweet chick is a love of mine (5/5 for their fried chicken). I have been to all their locations in New York. This review is for their addition of vegan options. I recently tried the Nashville hot vegan chicken sandwich. I was expecting possibly seitan meat or something along the lines, especially looking at the photos from their online menu (which is what is currently used at this location - you order on your phone, pick up at the counter, and dine in). Unfortunately it's a Morning Star frozen patty with hot sauce. Extremely underwhelming and not as photographed. I wouldn't recommend their vegan meat. This place is for chicken lovers. read more

I will start by saying the food is great. Love the atmosphere as well. While the service typically is also great, one particular employee there thought it would be a good idea to challenge me in front of everyone toward the end of my stay. One of my chicken breast was not cooked all the way through. I didn't realize until biting through almost to the bone. The chicken started to get slightly chewy. There was also a dark red color sitting in the pocket of the bite mark I left. I am usually a very understanding guy. I never like to make a scene or make anyone uncomfortable. I simply alerted my waiter of the issue. Naturally, he apologized and took my plate to the back. Now this particular location isn't large in size. You could hear them debating in the back declaring that I was incorrect and I am mistaking the red discoloration for hot sauce. ( I definitely used a ton of hot sauce, but their hot sauce has a bright red color) Shortly after, a women approaches my table holding my plate that the waiter had taken away. She had a low cut hairstyle with blonde hair. She states that she believes the discoloration is hot sauce. I explained to her that I am an avid chef and the discoloration was definitely blood. I continued and offered to show her I was positive. She invited me to prove my point. I broke the chicken apart even more with a fork, showing her down to the bone more discoloration. She still was not convinced and stated that she did not agree, but asked me if there was anything else I wanted. I said no and that I wasn't looking for any trouble. She proceeded to have a drink delivered to table that I requested, and didn't add it to my bill. Now I wasn't looking for a free drink in place of eating unfinished chicken, and I don't think this was handled good at all. I've never worked in hospitality, but I'm sure challenging a customer on the floor of business is not the way to handle an unwanted dish. I do hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Whenever my brother comes to visit me in Brooklyn we head over this place because of how awesome the chicken and waffles are here. Seriously we have become big fans of this place just for these dishes. Not only is the chicken juicy but the waffles are cooked perfectly and the butters you get are very flavorful. Combine that with some slushy alcoholic beverages and you can start your weekend off great! Recently I have tried their chicken waffle sandwiches here... and those kick butt too! They yell out your name as you try to make sure you don't miss your food but also talk to your friends. This place was even hopping on a Thursday early afternoon. At 3PM on a slightly just-finished-raining day, I was lucky I lived so close--most of the outside dining tables were taken. But I will say one of my friends was generous enough to let me half 1/8 of a waffle, and it was heaven. Placed an order for a few things through Postmates, and much to my chagrin, none of it is edible. 1. Soggy French fries. Soggy, cold fries from Macca's are better, somehow?. Not worth $2, let alone 6. 2. Chicken & Biscuits - looks nothing like advertised, AND the biscuit is a soggy, toasted bun. I sampled the mix and it tastes more like lukewarm chicken salad than a traditional "chicken and biscuits with vegetables and gravy" mix. 3. Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit - saving the best review for last! I pull it out of the paper wrapper and the first thing I notice isn't the fact that there's no honey butter, or the fact that this too is on a bun (do they not know what a biscuit is?), but that there is a GIANT piece of hair on the outside of the biscuit. I have long brown hair, so I know it's not mine. See photos if you'd like to lose your appetite. The hair placement is shocking because it looks like something a chef/cook would notice while packing up/finishing the order?!
