Today there was nobody taking care of the store. Someone working in the gold little shop next to it was in charge just in case customers went there, he had to split himself in half to take care of his shop plus the sweet factory, idk if the employee was on a break or if they just didn't have anyone to work there but someone could've easily distracted him to go steal some candy. Anyway when we Got home to eat the candy we bought which was overpriced btw, it was hard to chew on and it was all stuck together like if the candy had been there for months. It didn't taste good either. Very disappointed won't be going back. The store is always empty when I go in there and the cashier doesn't help you or seem motivated at all to be in there. they just stand there staring at you like if you were going to steal candy. I just want to have a fun time with my child but it's hard when the cashier is just staring at you the whole time making you feel rushed. The ambiance here is not nice. read more

So I came here specifically to get my friend a gift card and something went wrong and the lady working there was not able to give me a gift card. She tried everything and even called a manager on the phone but they couldn't get the system to do what it was supposed to do. I still bought some things for myself, but ended up going somewhere else for my friend's gift. The things I got were tasty and colorful and fun, though the "filled" gummies no longer had liquid centers. The center was actually textured almost identical to the soft outside of the gummie. Bummer. I wish I liked bubble gum because they had some pearlized gum balls that were the most beautiful candies I'd ever seen. I appreciated their small selection of vintage/throwback candies and liked that they still carry candy "cigarettes" and bubble tape. The store also has lots of cute plush stuffed animals, some cool metal lunch boxes and other accessories along the same lines. Overall okay visit, but ultimately wasn't able to get what I came for. Woman working was VERY upbeat and cheerful and apologetic for the issue though. I don't fault her at all and feel she was a great asset to the store overall. They just need to get their system working better. PS Prices are about $13 per pound of candy. Christmas candy was 75% off though, so that was cool! read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU ARE BLACK OR POC!!!!!!! I took my soon to buy his favorite candy and waited at the entrance for him to look around, as soon as we walked in I heard a lady who I presume was the manager tell the cashier (who was also a POC and looked extremely anxious and uncomfortable with the way she was yelling) to "Watch out for those people"... We walked in and not even 10 seconds in we were racially profiled.... And the harassment didn't stop there, she stood in the back the entire time he looked around and stared at us, and kept yelling loudly at the poor cashier to watch us, not even hiding that she didn't want us in the store, I am shocked at how a grown woman can be so outwardly racist to a teenage boy that was simply shopping for candy? I am disgusted and heartbroken that my son had to hear and experience that, please do better, we have been long time customers of Sweet Factory and after hearing y'all had reopened we were happy to check everything out but we will no longer be shopping here under current management, I will be sharing our experience with as many POC Santa Rosans, this is not okay, I encourage all your staff to help support the black community and get that woman fired. read more

Everytime I go in here I've never had any issues, they have everything! I love the fact the employees greet you as you come in, that's always a plus! I work at the mall myself and it's just simple customer service... I love the jelly belly dispenser! And the fact they have all sorts of "sweets" no pun intended. Great stuff! read more

This is one of the tiniest stores in the Plaza and how they pack so much sugar into it is unknown to me. I cannot think of this store without being brought to Friday afternoons in middle school where after our last period we would come to the mall to just cruise, buy tiny tank tops at cheap stores and fill up on the Sweet Factory. This store's strong point is definitely its supply of sugary gummy sweets. Think gummy worms, gummy peaches, anything with a layer of sugar. My favorite are the tiny jaw breakers that you really cannot find in many other stores. They are not actual jaw breakers, they just look like mini versions of the big ones. They have a great sweet taste and are chewy not hard like the real thing. Try some - they are so tiny they are basically free since you pay by net weight. There is also a good supply of chocolately items here (yawn - not the biggest chocolate person). The chocolate covered malt balls have a huge layer of chocolate - larger than most. This store's shortcomings are that it is not normally in the neatest condition. There are usually bits of candy that are half in and half out of the jars. It does not have any chocolate covered fruit - chocolate covered raisins and banana chips are basically your only options. It also cannot compete with the likes of Powell's candy shops which are the best candy shops in the area. read more

Not even sure where to begin! Walked in to Sweet Factory to purchase Ring Pops for my Nieces. The Cashier was eating Dominos Pizza while ringing me up. One hand eating a slice while the other greasy hand was touching my credit card. Better yet he refused to put his slice of pizza down while he tried opening the plastic bag with one hand. Shaking it over and over baffled as to why it wouldn't open. Beyond gross. Beyond acceptable for any type of customer service. Never again. I would have complained to the store manager however, someone hired this guy in the first place! I should have know not to deviate from Powell's. Lesson learned. read more

This is my favorite store in the whole mall. They have great candy at a reasonable price. I recommend the sour belts. You can get a lot for a small price. The employees are super helpful and very energetic (probably all the candy they eat). Great music as well. It really elevated the whole shopping experience. read more

Sweet Factory is definitely my favorite candy store in town. I believe they have gotten new staff recently because the few times I've stopped in the last few months every employee that has helped me has been incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable about the candy they carry.
