Several of my friends had been raving about Sweet Ginger, so I decided it was time I stopped in for a quick lunch! Upon browsing the menu I decided on the chicken pad Thai with sweet and sour soup, a firecracker roll, and a Thai iced tea. The portions are ridiculous! Ridiculously large that is. Which was great for me to bring home leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day. The hot and sour soup was some of the best I've had. So. Much. Flavor! Yum. I hadn't planned on finishing the bowl, but I had to. It was that good. The chicken pad Thai was also wonderfully flavorful. A little more "juicy" than I expected, but that wasn't a bad thing. My firecracker roll was fabulous with just the right amount of spicy kick. The restaurant is really cozy with a modern feel. They have a great patio area too! Waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. They were always around dropping off food or checking on their patrons. The cost was excellent for both the quality and quantity you get. It's just okay. Just hard to judge, which explains why the reviews are all over the place. The food is fresh and pretty accessible in the sense that it's not too salty. Probably more on the watery side if anything and color is very monotone, but the flavor is there. But not too much flavor either, so I can see how it would be perceived as bland. I wouldn't order again, tons of better options but they do distinguish themselves with their style. read more

Great restaurant for Asian food in the Cherry Creek area of Denver. We found this place through yelp. Their hot and sour soup was very flavorful. They have lunch specials. I had the shrimp fried rice. Very good and very generous portions so we had some left over to take home. Big pieces of shrimp-yum! My son enjoyed his sushi. A friend and I had a much needed catch up night here last night. We walked in about 7:45 and the place was half full. Always a good sign. What wasn't so great was our waiter. He showed little enthusiasm, it took a while to get our main entrees, didn't check on us again until he brought the check and my favorite, left. Yup, he was adios. I had to flag someone else down to get a water refill and pay our bill. Such a shame because the food was very good. I ordered the seaweed salad for a starter followed by the drunken noodles with shrimp. My friend got the Thai egg rolls followed by a tofu peanut curry. I ate my entire plate. The shrimp was perfectly cooked as well as the noodles. There was also a perfect balance of spicy and salty. My friend also very much enjoyed her dish. And the rest of the staff picked up the slack of our waiter and didn't make a big deal out of patrons, including us, staying after they had officially closed. read more

I have no idea how this place has good reviews. Don't eat here!! You will get sick!! Now, I can eat some pretty questionable food; but this place will give you food poisoning at best, and kill you at worst. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, miso soup, and crab rangoons; and I'm very thankful to have gotten a full refund :). Both my boyfriend and I spat out our first bite of food before even attempting to swallow it. A quick breakdown of everything: _-Miso Soup-_ -The soup has been sitting in the same pot for more than a few days. Watery and it's like someone sucked out all the salt & umami.. ..(or let it simmer & reduce on a stove for 2-3+ days). -Tofu was lazily and poorly cut; huge chunks that couldn't fit on a spoon mixed in with long, noodle-like strips with shallow hatches where the tofu should have been cut and wasn't. -Poor quality, frozen seaweed. Super rubbery and unappetizing; like slurping up some slugs. _-Sushi Rolls-_ -Warm rolls were cold, and cold rolls were hot. (there's absolutely no way I'm eating raw fish above room temp. orry, but I'm not too much of a fan of puking and sh*tting my brains out.) -spicy mayo & cream cheese was spoiled/turning rancid (gonna assume that they store the spicy mayo outside the walk-in. which is exactly not what you're supposed to do.) -Watery Eel sauce. Dude, the only way you get watery eel sauce, is if you're cutting corners and adding water in when they get low. _-Rangoons-_ -Undercooked, under-seasoned, and just weird. I don't know what that was, but it wasn't krab rangoon. Tasted more like a sweet bagel with cream cheese than a krab rangoon. -The sauce tasted like candy it was so sweet and was neon pink? No way that was sweet and sour sauce. gtfo of here. tldr; There are cheap sushi places and food poison places. This is a food poison place. read more

I'd give this place a negative star if I could. Terrible customer service and the woman at the front always has a nasty bad attitude. She misheard my order and when asked to correct it slammed the receipt for refund on the table, rolled her eyes, and sighed. This is all while giving her a tip when initially placing the order. I've been here before and assumed maybe she was having a bad day but, it appears she's like this everyday. I tried to give it a chance but, will most definitely NOT BE BACK EVER AGAIN. Ive been here for business lunches about a 1/2 doz times and have yet to be disappointed. The have a bunch of fancy rolls and just plain great nigiri and fresh sashimi. Highest grade fish and delish combos of rolls and fusion sashimi dishes. They are fast at lunch, very easy to be in and out in less than 1hr. Everytime I order the food is delivered quickly, and is piping hot. Every dish I've tried is flavorful. Great value and great food.

The food is so bland that I legit just sucked on a packet of soy sauce to confirm I didn't have COVID/was losing my taste. I actually cannot believe how little flavor there is to my pad se lew. I should have known that their Thai food would be mediocre at best because the dish is called pad se eew and they didn't even ask a spice level. The crab Rangoon had barely any filling as well. Good spot for a quick lunch. It was not at all busy at 12:30pm today. The lunch menu is rather limited, but you can also order from the full sushi menu. I chose a sushi lunch special. I had about five roll options to choose from. Two rolls for $7.95. Full rolls... A steal! Plus a cup of soup of my choice. I selected the spicy tuna and yummy roll and the miso soup. The yummy roll was unexpectedly delicious. Normally vegetarian rolls don't exactly blow me away, but the sweetness of the sweet potato and avocado were a nice match for the salty, crunchy tempura flakes. I want to make these when I return home! (I know how to roll ya'll, check out YouTube to learn how. The battle is mostly sourcing ingredients. Rest is pretty easy!) I added on a glass of plum wine. The prices were very affordable, especially for lunch, but it was by far the juiciest pad thai I've ever eaten (very saucy), and I can say that I didn't prefer the pad thai to be so doused in sauce. However, the portion was very large and I was able to take my leftovers home. They forgot to bring us our soup appetizer, but we got it eventually. Three weekly constructed wontons with lightly cooked veggies. Sesame chicken was lightly spiced despite for my "spicy" request. Crispy and sweet while being very heavy on batter. Stumbled upon this place in Cherry Creek recently. The service is nice and it was pretty quiet in there during lunch time on a Sunday. We tried to the sashimi - maguro and eel - both were fantastic. Highly recommend those. We also tried the noodles - Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. I did not really like those too much. The pad thai was pretty saucy but I asked them to make it spicy and it wasn't spicy at all but had good flavor at least. The drunken noodles were so bland that they didn't have any color and we had to put a bunch of chili sauce in it that helped a little. I used to order delivery on a regular basis and really enjoyed it, then things started going downhill. Items missing from my order, incorrect items. When I called I was told that I would have to come in to have it resolved, which defeats the purpose of delivery. The last order I placed turned me off from Sweet Ginger completely. It was on May 5 but I am finally getting to place this overdue review. Per the photos I have added, I ordered Vietnamese spring rolls, which I previously had ordered. What I received was a horrifying, grease soaked mess. It was fried "stuff" wrapped around a hard lump of some type of meat looking substance and it was sopping with grease. There were a few of these in what was supposed to be my spring rolls. I have no idea what they were supposed to be! In addition, I order a couple of maki rolls and the fish was off. It tasted very fishy and not at all fresh. I called them and they hung up on me. I emailed and no one would respond. I gave up on Sweet Ginger completely. Yes, yes, yes, whaaaaat. Everything here was absolutely fantastic. Thanks to my brother and Kevin for taking me out here for my birthday. I'm not used to many Thai restaurants that also serve sushi, but I'm totally stoked Sweet Ginger does because they do both right. The salmon sashimi was sooo buttery and amazing, not the slightest bit fishy, and had beautiful color. It reminded me of Shinjuku Station's back at home in Fort Worth (the highest compliment ever). And they have gluten free soy sauce, woo! The Thai food was also incredible. The Thai fried rice and green curry were both full of flavor, especially the curry. Silky and spicy and all the veggies in it had the perfect texture (including the potatoes, which are often undercooked in curries). There are tons of gluten free and vegetarian options, and the prices are phenomenal especially considering how much food you get. The portions are ridiculous, you'll be taking home tons of to-go boxes, promise. Great cocktail and wine menu here as well, although I didn't imbibe on my last visit. Not to mention, the different curries weren't even labeled. When I called to let them know, the women started arguing with me! I explained my order and what was missing and she didn't believe me. This is our go to for chinese and sushi (not a big fan of their Thai food but everything else is usually on point). They deliver as well, which is great for those crazy nights when the chicken you dethawed is still rock solid and your toddler is very very hungry. Plus they are super friendly and service is great. We've tried most of the menu. Our favorites are: Panang Curry with shrimp, sesame tofu, siracha shrimp, kung pao chicken, basil fried rice and singapore noodles. Their sushi is really good too (spider, yellowtail, tuna and evergreen rolls are our faves). We usually do take out or delivery but they have great ambiance for dining in too.
