Came here with a friend recently and was able to outdoor dine with ease! To start, we ordered the kale and cauliflower salad which was delicious. For my entree I ordered the sweet potato quinoa burger and fries. Was happy to see they also had Singlecut beer on the menu so I did order that as well. Lucky for us, we were able to try the dessert complimentary. (Thank you, Jenny!) I had the super Tato burger without the bun, and my friend had a cheeseburger which she said was excellent. I was happy to have food that didn't make me feel stuffed and bloated. Stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed eating here. I got the burger with an added fried egg and when it came to the table, I was very glad that I ordered it. The burger is tall so don't be shy about using a fork and knife. The pickle slices were homemade, the onions perfectly caramelized, soft brioche bun and lots of cheddar with lettuce/tomato. Service was really attentive, with our server checking in frequently for iced tea refills and to see how our meal was going. I have dined here before and didn't write a review.. so now dining the second time around here's my perspective. If you are looking for healthy, vegan and an eclectic spin on fave comfort foods like a burger then this is the place for you. The first time dining here, we dined inside, this is going back three years ago and in a galaxy far away from COVID. The interior has a light airy feel with light wooden tables and a long bar. We had the vegan hash with tofu and enjoyed it. Today we arrived @1pm and we're told there was only seating at the bar. We wanted to dine outside so waited @20 minutes for a table. So here's where a star is taken off: we entered and asked for a table for 2. The waitress looked around ( we saw three empty not yet bussed tables) and stated only bar seating. Meanwhile, other patrons who walked in after us were seated. Communication goes a long way and maybe these patrons left their names before us?? I left my cell phone number and was told 15 minutes, came back and there were patrons just seated outside. Okay so after that disconnect we were finally seated. The menu has vegan options like "Croque Monsieur: smoked watermelon " ham" and caramelized onions. Huh? Then there are vegan burger options: chicken burger ( stuffed chicken sausage), quinoa and sweet potato burger, chick pea burger with vegan cheese and the Sweet Grass Fed angus beef burger. The appetizers run from corn bread, eclectic salads to butternut squash soup. We both ordered the soup and it was fantastic!!! The soup was a velvety concoction with smoked pepitas, apples and drizzled with coconut cream. It was sweet and savory and served in a big bowl. Then we both ordered burgers and here's where it gets a bit wonky. I love veggie burgers and the best is served at Hillstone in Manhattan. It's nice to try different versions... I ordered the chick pea burger with sesame aioli and pickles with a side of unsalted hand cut fries. The fries were on point but the burger lacked taste plus the aioli looked green and the pickles turned the burger to mush. The vegan cheddar was tolerable. My friend liked her quinoa burger but found it a bit spicy and the garlic crisp potatoes looked like tostones borrowed from the Cuban eatery next door. They lacked flavor and didn't taste garlicky at all. Looking around at what other diners were eating: the corn bread were three slivers of bread and the B.E.C. looked good. For what it's worth here's some suggestions: expand salad options and include a kale Caesar. Turkey burgers would also be a nice addition. I appreciate the vegan and gluten free options but serve real ketchup, the almost red variety served was tasteless. Outdoor seating should warrant heating lamps. I'm not sure I would visit a third time.. the only option I could recommend would be the butternut squash soup. Otherwise, it's a hard pass. read more

Bafflingly bad experience. We ate brunch here on Saturday and I genuinely don't have one positive thing to say (except for the company, which was wonderful). We started with the cornbread muffins which were as dry as the desert. None of our entrees were good, least of all the croque monsieur with smoked watermelon that my friend ordered. My chicken burger was completely lacking in flavor although the thick fries were good (we had to request normal ketchup though as the house ketchup was vile). My friend's vegan scramble was edible but nothing to write home about. We all ordered drinks too but none were great. For dessert, we got the apple cider donuts which were straight up raw and inedible on the inside. I very politely brought this to the hostess's attention when she asked how they were and she basically apologized and then brought out the check like nothing had happened. At a minimum I would have expected the raw donuts to be taken off. All in all a heinous brunch and they should be ashamed of their food. Would not recommend. read more

Been here a few times now and this place gets better and better every single time I come here. The staff is insanely friendly, the food is absolutely delicious, the small town vibes are perfect, and it's cozy inside. The food is so fresh tasting and the menu changes seasonally based off of produce that is fresh and local. They have lots of amazing vegan options but also have grass fed meets and organic chicken and fish. They also make great strong cocktails and know how to make food look and taste luxurious. I leave here full and satisfied but never feeling heavy which is such a nice change from 99% of restaurants. I would give this place genuinely a 9.5/10 rating and my only complaint is every single time I go, there is a wait and the reservations book up really quickly. My wife and I were joined by a friend who had been here many times in the past. After touring a local historic landmark, she insisted on coming here for a late Sunday brunch. We had reservations for 2:30 pm and they were honored on time. The restaurant has a nice trendy vibe going with a bar area and outdoor seating. My wife ordered the farmers breakfast, I had the rustica French Toast, a side of smoked bacon, and coffee, and our friend ordered the salmon sandwich which came with French fries. The French toast consisted of two very big thick slices of rustica bread smothered in blueberries and strawberries. Real maple syrup. Excellent. Big portion of bacon but it was well done and cooked a while ago. Still very tasty. As a coffee snob, I would say the coffee was very good. My wife enjoyed her farmers breakfast with scrambled eggs and veggies. The Salmon sandwich held up well in the bread, was tasty, and the fries were good enough. Service was excellent and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Tarrytown. Great location. Parking can be found in a public lot since on the street parking is tough. i'd give the food quality 3 stars, medium burgers came to table veryrare etc. but the experience was terrible. we reserved a 10:30am table for 16 the day after our sons wedding. unfortunately the grandparents, in their 90's were unable to attend so 12 arrived. they moved the extra seats and formed a new table that was quickly filled by walk ins/ no reservation. group. however i still had to pay a $50 no show charge for the 4 seats. never in all the years of dining out could i ever imagine this. terrible management decision. read more

Sweet Grass Grill. The Eggplant Polpette, when I say beyond delicious......I mean beyond delicious! The flavors on this eggplant dish were amazing. The perfect spicy garlicky blend of Italian flavors made this an amazing dish. It was on Sweet Grill week's menu as a special. Hopefully, it becomes a regular item. Also outstanding, was the Warm Brussels sprout salad. The vegan blue cheese flavor was so real I had to call the waiter back to confirm the dish was vegan. This cute little joint on Main Street in Tarrytown was simply fantastic and what a lovely find. A friend and I were shopping around in Tarrytown and discovered this for a brunch/lunch on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and we really wanted to sit outside but there was a large party who had reserved all of those tables. We were helped by a seating hostess named Amanda who was simply lovely and very quick to find us a seat inside by the window so we could have a view of the street. Our servers name was William and he was very professional and had some great recommendations for lunch. The person that I was with tends to ask a lot of questions and is that person that wants their dish with this on the side and then that on the side and extra this and that. So William was quite patient answering questions and making sure the dish was prepared to the Persons liking. They have beautiful craft cocktails that taste as good as they look. They bring out things a little homemade carrot cake muffins with a dab of butter on top as a little snack while looking at the menu. I had the grilled chicken club sandwich which was fabulous. Their sandwiches are on these homemade rolls that are quite delicious. The interior is darling and they have a cute little bar. It was extremely busy and even though the place looks a bit small it's actually a pretty big when you go in the corner and see how far the dining room expands two. They have two other restaurants in the area, one is called Tomatillo in Dobbs ferry and another one in Tarrytown called Grassroots Kitchen. I can't wait to come back in the fall when the leaves are changing and check out one of the other two restaurants in this restaurant group. This is truly farm to table never ever disappoints, and I love the largest bowl of muscles to die for.... Again the service is impeccable. My girlfriend and I came here after a failed attempt at a run along the aqueduct due to rain. I was happy we were able to make reservations last minute, as they get pretty busy on the weekends. As soon as we arrived, we were seated. Our server was very nice. I love the warm muffins and whipped butter they give complimentary. We ate well although I felt my dish, the Farmer's Breakfast Bowl, was a bit bland. Luckily, they offered really good hot sauces. My gf had the Quinoa Sweet Potato Benedict and enjoyed hers. Went here for memorial day after 2 years of being there the last time. I was sad to see some of the dishes I saw before were gone. That is not a complaint. We showed up right around the time it opened. Luckily we did because this place filled up immediately. Half hour being in there, I was already hearing the employees tell hungry customers that the wait time was 45min long. This to me is not a negative, it just tells me that the food is good and is very popular. I had the mussels they were amazing. We also tried the chicken sandwich which was not dry! They are pretty fast and especially on a show night, they know people are trying to get out ASAP. Pretty sweet! While I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, I have been trying to eat a little healthier overall and am open to trying new things/experiences. I came across this place and after reading some of the reviews (I do use this site afterall) and checking out the menu, I decided to give it a try. You don't have to be a vegan or a vegetarian to eat here as they have options for all. It's small, but cozy inside. Everything was clean and staff was generally pleasant. There is a bar in which you can sit at as well as the tables. I came for dinner and after browsing the menu, I chose the grilled pork tenderloin while my companion ordered the salmon. I won't pretend to know what everything on the menu was, but it looked good enough. When the dish came, it certainly tasted great enough and it was the right choice. I ordered a side of sweet potato fries - which I must say, was the best order of sweet potato fries I have ever tasted anywhere. Maybe it was the lack of grease, but whatever they did, they did it right. Just coming here for the sweet potato fries would be worth the trip alone - they were that good. Parking is metered street. If there is a municipal lot somewhere, I didn't see it. It was after 7pm, so I didn't need to worry about it. They take reservations, which I recommend doing. I didn't have one and got right in, but it did get crowded after a certain time and I would imagine without one there would be a wait. Jackfruit "carnitas" tacos!!! That. is. all. No. it's not. Seriously...I could stop right there and leave this as a 5 star review. But here are the deets: I'm amazed at how good a weird fruit can be when it's shredded, marinated and served up in excellent corn tortillas with a bit of chipotle sauce and guacamole. Throw a light cilantro-laden salad with fresh, crispy cabbage on the side and watch me dance as I eat. Seriously...this jackfruit-as-a-taco-filling is a revelation. I'm not a full-time vegetarian but I love veggie and vegan options that are well done. Again - the jackfruit won the show for me because I didn't expect it to be as delicious as it was. It was almost like pulled pork without all of the greasy fat. The firm fruit was more of a "melt in your mouth" experience requiring a bit less chewing than pork does. My colleague had the grass fed burger and raved about it. He ate every last little morsel. We shared the buffalo tempeh (new to him) and avocado toast (love me some avocado toast). Both were terrific; the tempeh had a nice kick to it but nothing overpowering. We each started with a beautiful bowl of butternut squash soup. Vegan. No cream. Perfect!! Our server was friendly and super efficient. The only weird thing that happened was that we arrived a few minutes early (for our already early -5pm- dinner reservation). The hostess said, "just FYI, the kitchen doesn't officially open until 5". I looked at my watch and it was about a minute and a half until the 5 o'clock hour. Pretty sure that by the time our lovely server brought us drinks and we took a few minutes to scan the menu, the kitchen would "officially" be open. Unnecessary commentary. To give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she is a millennial that has issues reading traditional clocks. But...it came off as snarky and made me almost feel guilty for being there and inconveniencing them. On 5/14/2022, I came here from brunch with a friend. It was a beautiful day and the atmosphere inside was very cozy. I had the vegan wild hive pancakes which were okay with egg-whites. I didn't care for the strawberry-rhubarb compote. My friend had the Farmer's breakfast -she enjoyed it. The coffee was the best; we had a couple of cups while catching up. Wine menu is comprise of not just typical chardonnay, riesling, etc. - there are a good number of interesting varietals not found at other restaurant. From service perspective, staffs are friendly and attentive. They even pay attention to the fact that my friend and I are sharing entrees and our dish came with portions split already for us. From location perspective, easy to find street parking + parking lots nearby and the location is in safe and cute neighborhood where there is good coffee shop and ice cream place nearby for the summer. The restaurant also offer once a month murder mystery dinner that we will definitely come back for! The only area of improvement would be the food. Food overall taste good though I couldn't identify the uniqueness or character of the dish we ordered that set the restaurant apart. I went hiking at bear mountain this past weekend, and stopped here on the way home for dinner. It was a busy Saturday night, but we got lucky because 2 spots just opened up at the bar when we got there. We ordered the vegan mac & cheese and vegan wings to share, and then I got the marinated skirt steak as my entree. Everything was absolutely amazing. I'm usually picky when it comes to steak because I don't like much fat on it, but this one was perfect. The vegan wings were also interesting because they were made from celery root, which I've never tried before. All the food came out very quickly, which was great because we were starving. They also gave us some bread with a delicious white bean dip to snack on while we waited for our food. Aside from the food, the service was amazing. The bartender was so friendly and even charged my friend's phone behind the bar while we ate. Our waiter was great too, and he kept checking up on us to make sure everything was good. I wish this place was closer because I'd come here often. Just make sure that if you come during the weekend when it's busy, you make a reservation! read more

No delay for eating outside - you know how sometimes sitting outside the servers are so busy inside you are forgotten. Not so. They were right there everytime we needed something. The food !!!! Excellent!!! Salmon burger - so good! Kale salad - so good! (I was worried it would be too healthy for my greedy tastes, but it was delicious.) Had a great brunch here with the parental units. They accept reservations, so I made one and it was very satisfying to be seated in the middle of the crazy brunch rush. Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, burger with chips and a side of veggie hash were all tasty. I also loved the key lime pie. The prices here are astronomical! The Cheeseburger is no where near worth $20. That's the price range of a steak house burger. The overall food was good. The service was good. I was a little torn on my rating, the service from our waiter William was excellent, everyone was accommodating, the restaurant had a nice crowd and the food was good. I think the issue was that some of the dishes were either vegan or gluten free and some of the ingredients I'm usually use to were missing. I sampled the French toast which had good flavor although use a head crusted bread which killed it for me. All the French toast I've had is soft and moist. This tasted like it was made on bread that was similar to Italian bread. I also tried the salmon and eggs Benedict which was good. There were two small cakes like crab cakes with a small amount of hollandaise sauce. Last was the marinated steak tacos. You get three and they were pretty good except again the taco bread was missing something. It almost tasted like it was whole wheat It was like 95 degrees out I had the red sangria. It was pretty good although I would have like other fruit besides orange slices in it. Maybe some grapes. I had one hour on the elliptical in the morning and probably should have stuck to water with lemon. I don't think I personally would go back as there are so many other places to try in Tarrytown. I think it's a good spot to try and would not discourage anyone from going there. There are around 600 reviews and most are very good. Maybe I just didn't make the best food selection personally for my taste buds or it was the heat outside. read more
