This used to be my go to, when I lived in the area. Excellent service, food, drinks, and environment. Highly recommend for a nice simple lunch date.

Corned beef omelette ($17): solid corned beef hash and roasted potatoes

Oh, how I really wanted to support this local cafe. It has a beautiful mural with gorgeous natural lighting-- so much potential for a delightful brunch spot. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for us today! Nuts and bolts: free street parking, no resy capability but seated in 15min (party of 2, Sun 11a). Brilliant setup to order drinks/pastries at the front while waiting!! Service 2/5: unfortunately, it took 15min after seating to be approached for our orders... and another 40min thereafter to get food. At one point, just 2 tables were eating in the restaurant seating 65 ppl. I worry there was something awry with the back of house, as the restaurant seemed well-staffed with waiters. Food 3/5: - solid cold brew coffee - corned beef omelette ($17): the corned beef hash had so much potential if it weren't lukewarm/cold! - sam's sampler ($14.50): a trio of pancakes, eggs, and bacon that got the job done. unfortunately, it was also lukewarm

Decent American style breakfast. Ordered a "build your own" omelette with ham, feta cheese, spinach and mushrooms. This dish comes with potatoes and bread. The service was great.

Turkey sandwich on brioche roll with onion rings

Ate here for the first time yesterday. Even though I lived in Boston for a number of years and even worked down the street from here, I passed by here many times without stopping inside. My friend suggested we eat here for brunch, and so we got here a little after 10. It was easy to get seating and we got to choose where we wanted to sit which was nice. I had previewed the menu beforehand, and was fixed on their fried chicken sandwich. When I went to order, I was told that they were out of fried chicken so I wasn't able to order that. I was a little disappointed, but settled on their turkey sandwich. It had Brie, apricot jam, and green apples on it. I got it on brioche and it was soooo good! I never had this combination before, and would never think to add jam or apples to my sandwich, but my oh my, was that the combination that I needed. The apples were crisp and refreshing in the sandwich, and the apricot jam added an unexpected but welcome sweetness to the roll. They weren't skimp with the turkey, and overall the sandwich was a solid ten in my book. I definitely would order it again, and even try to recreate it. My friend had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and she enjoyed it. She also said that other menu options there are very good, so I know I need to go back to try. Our server was also very friendly, and attentive so that's a plus!

I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was terrible and the waitress was extremely rude. The initial interaction with the waitress was off. I asked her about a particular item on the menu and she said she didn't know because she also works at another establishment and gets the two menus confused. I tried to be as flexible as possible so I told her i would take something else if they didn't have what I initially requested. She seemed frustrated by my questions and spoke in a condescending tone and it made me feel uncomfortable. I thought maybe she was having a bad day so I didn't say anything about her attitude. We ordered our food and beverages and she started to question why we were ordering certain items. We asked for spring water and she returned with tap water and the threw the straws on the table and walked off. when she returned to bring the juice to the table, we asked for spring water for a second time. she did eventually bring it. I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese, but when my food arrived, the eggs were cooked in the style of an omelet. I questioned her about the eggs and eventually asked if they were from a shell or liquid eggs substitutes. She seemed offended and said in a nasty tone, "they're real! I asked several times and was told they're real." I said okay and she proceeded to say in a condescending tone, "Is there a problem?" At that point I just wanted to get out of there. We ate our food and she never came back to the table until I waived at her and asked for the bill. As we were getting ready to leave, we noticed a few things. The cup that she gave my friend had a lipstick print on it. she charged us for food that she didn't bring to our table. We also overheard her being combative with other customers. I will say, the ambiance is nice and relaxing and I did like the self seating option. However, the bad service was a turn off. Especially because it was a birthday breakfast.

Over the last few years, I always stop into Sweet Life when I'm in town ! Sweet life is my go to brunch /breakfast spot! My mother lives close by in Milton! I know the place will always be buzzing and the food will delicious and filling. I stopped in yesterday with my mother for pre Mother's Day brunch. We arrived a little before 930. I started with a mimosa which was big! I then ordered the new life special. I opted for the egg whites, with bacon, wheat toast, and a waffle topped with strawberries. It was so much food , I could not finish it all . Everyone is always friendly and you know you are going to hear a Boston /New England accent lol I only wish you you could make reservations online. So, it's really first-come first serve aka put your name on the list. You gotta try it!

Came this morning and it was a packed house! Ms Eileen was there to greet us as usual and told us it would be a little wait/ which we had no problem with. (Ended up only being maybe 5-7 minutes) We ordered with Emma who was amazing, and had a great smile! She made us feel welcomed and was very thorough I wanted the apple crumb pie and I got the last piece thanks to Emma ! Woohoo, made my day. I ordered a BLT with Turkey and it was perfect ! I added a side of bacon because I am greedy. I got the fries & onion rings (soooooooo good) definitely ordering again The steak tip omelet was amazing as usual (only available fri-sun) Got it with an English muffin because they're always soft and buttery Tom Brady to drink because, duh.

4.5 stars. Went on a Sunday morning at around 10 AM. The place was pretty packed! We had to wait a couple of minutes, but then got one of the last available tables. The hostess was super friendly as was the waitress. Our waitress was a bit slower than the one who helped a couple of tables near us. We came in and got seated first, but both of the tables with the other waitress got to order before us. No biggie. We weren't in a rush. I ordered the mango mimosa and he got the bloody. I liked my mimosa, but he was not impressed by the bloody mary. I tried it (I've recently gotten into "good" bloodies) and I didn't think it was that bad. It definitely wasn't just V8 and vodka. There was some spice there, but I think the boy has been ruined by other bloodies recently that have been phenomenal. Decent drinks so far in my opinion. He got the hash and I got an omelette. Nothing too fancy. He really liked his hash (he'll get hash every.single.time it's on a menu). My omelette was good (ham, american, tomato & mushrooms) and I liked that you can build your own without it ending up costing more than ones that they create. My omelette came with toast and I chose the english muffin. It was delicious! I ate the whole thing and left part of my omelette. Ha. It also came with potatoes that were decent, but could have used more seasoning/spice. 5 stars for the vibe. I've only lived in Dorchester for a month, but I have been to many places on the block that aren't really "diversified" despite the location. Sweet Life was such a good mix of people - black, white, asian, hispanic, young, old. Everyone having a good time on a Sunday morning. I was so happy to just soak it in. This place is a 3 minute walk from my house, so it could be my new regular brunch spot!

I love the quiche; usually two varieties a day. Comes with fresh berries or a side salad. Pleasant atmosphere and excellent service.

We also ordered their Caesar Salad which was good. I do remember this spot before it was Drifters and it was called Idle Hour which I loved so much. But I will say I am excited that a new pizza spot is now in its place. I think my next time that I try this will be physically at the restaurant. My only concern is that it is very loud. It is a great place to go watch sports for sure!

The place itself was small too so the music really overpowered everything. But once the live music wrapped up the vibes were good! Not too loud that I was screaming over it, but still lively. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!

We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae.
