I have been ordering from them for the last 10+years, and I have never been disappointed with the service and the amazing, wonderful cakes they make. Last week I ordered a cake for my father for his 90th birthday. They did such a beautiful job on the decoration. The almond cake was super good. I had about 50 guests, many of them made positive comments about the cake the decoration and they loved the flavor. I truly appreciate the customer service I received on the phone or in person. My sister's good friend got her a baby shower cake. I think the flavor was banana? It was a hit with everyone who attended the baby shower. You have Asians who don't like too sweet cakes, then you have a healthy Mexicans who don't like sweets too. The cake was huge! The lion decoration was really cute too. I can't comment on the service because I didn't buy the cake. It went well with our group of people that we got it for my nephew and niece's birthday. I didn't get a picture of the birthday cake. My first time ordering a cake here under the new ownership and let me tell you, the cake decorating is 100% better than the first previous owners. I showed them an inspiration picture and was told they can do it, no hesitation and they did! The cake in the picture had a bow on it which made it look so much better. Sadly I took it off before I took the picture but regards soooo happy with their work. Not to mention the cake was delicious!! So happy with the way my daughter's birthday cake turned out. Ordered cupcakes for my daughters birthday. Paid in advance. When I went to pick them up they said they never made them and had no other premade items they could offer. No prior notice or even saying they were sorry for their mess up. Since it was so late in the day I couldn't go anywhere else to have them made so we were out of luck. First time going here since the ownership change and I will never come back. How can they just not make the order and not offer any type of solution other than a refund. This place has new owners and they now sell Mexican pan dulce which is really bold given Mexico Bakery is right next door. The four stars are for the cupcakes only. I have had cupcakes before ownership change and even ordered cakes in the past. I was really pleased that they are still moist and delicious. My kid asked for a cupcake during our potty training weekend and this place came through with the cookies and cream cupcake ($5 each). My husband picked a giant chocolate cupcake that looks like the Hostess one from our childhood. He said it was so chocolatey and spongy in the best way. I also picked two pan dulces and they were not to my liking. The cuerno de sal was hard as a rock when it is supposed to be super soft. The empanada de fresa had a bad aftertaste like they put too much baking soda and the strawberry filling tasted nothing like strawberry. I was really bummed because I didn't get a cupcake since they all have dairy. Aside from this, parking is tough but the service is really friendly. They now open extended hours. read more

We asked for the cake to say "A tini bit older" the whole theme of the party. That wasn't done. We asked for chocolate borders and provided an inspiration picture and we received a caramel cake. We asked over three times to put glitter on the cake and still no glitter. Not to mention the bows appeared dirty looking. I didn't expect this to be the finished product, it is not at the expert level we were paying for. I love how you can place an order online! After I placed my order online, I received a phone call the next day to confirm the order. Since I wasn't available, Blanca left a voicemail and asked for me to return her call. When I called back, she was very friendly and wanted to know how I wanted the cake decorated. I requested a white naked cake and she they did a great job! When I picked up the cake, I asked if they were able to put flowers on it. I was told that it's possible, but flowers would need to be dropped off a day in advance. I think they would have put flowers on for me the day of, but I didn't have the flowers with me and I was on a time crunch. Good to know for the future though. The banana cake was very moist and flavorful. Would love to come back to try their other cake flavors. This bakery is conveniently located near a freeway entrance and exit. OMG. This cake was *MWAH* chef's kiss! I placed the order online a week ahead of time. The shop called me to finalize what o wanted on the cake. I don't know anything about cakes besides how to eat them. But I was walked through the process and what they are able to do and not do based on the images I had sent online. The cake shop does not do fondant, only icing. I don't know about you, but the RN symbol on the front looks PERFECT. The cake flavor I ordered was the 8 inch marble cake with kahlua cream filling, for about 20 people, $100 total for the cake plus extra decorations. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I can't give them enough stars! We stopped by Wednesday at 3pm... last minute to order cupcakes needed by Saturday. The lady who helped us was super nice and shows us the flavors and also told us about their cakes. We hadn't planned on it, but she said they could do a simple cake with ombré blue frosting and put a Mirabel /Encanto doll in the middle. Sure, let's give it a shot. OH MY GOD. look at the photo. I contemplated for a while writing this review. For many years I've always gotten all of our cakes from SPB. All the kids parties and all special events. But I will say this will be the absolute last time. I will never return , never order any cakes for company corporate functions, or refer this place to anyone. To make a long story short my son got COVID the week of his party. I called early in the week to see if they can push out the cake to another weekend. I had already been able to move the date with the location. It was still a good 4 days away and the bakery gave me thr excuse that the cake layers were already baked and too late to cancel? My issue is, if I am paying at least a hundred dollars for a cake, it better be fresh. And 4 days out and already baked?? C'mon now...that's just unacceptable. I wasn't asking to be refunded I wanted to simply change the pickup date. 4 days away. Here's another kicker. I'm a baker as well. I understand how cake layers work. I would NEVER bake a cake 4 days out just due to quality & taste. The only way to fix a 4 day old cake is to dredge it in syrup or a cake soak. You can do that with only old cake. You get what I mean. Any OLD cake. SPB gave me one excuse after another. Plus I'm sure they could have sold the cake to someone else it was one of their most popular flavor combos. Instead they have lost thousands of dollars in profit on just one person for all my future events plus everyone at my sons party that I had a few weeks later, because I shared what SPB wasnt willing to do. I had no choice but to pick up the cake plus the cupcakes I ordered extra, lugged my sick son all the way to the East side to grab the cake that no one would be able to eat. In a household of two people and my son not feeling well a 7 layer cake that would have normally fed at least 30 became a prop for bday photos and then ended up in the trash. I'd also like to add one more thing. I did taste the cake. And the last two times I've ordered from SPB the taste and quality of the ingredients have definitely gone downhill. Even friends that have ordered from them in the past have confirmed what I thought was only me noticing the change, but it was evident for them as well. They've also stopped ordering cakes. I've followed this bakery for many many many years including their short stint in Cupertino back in the day...never again. I'm done with this place. I ordered the cakes online through their website and uploaded my inspiration pictures about 10 days before my daughter's birthday. They called me the next day to confirm them. Then I just showed up on my pickup day to get the cakes! The two cakes (in the pictures attached) actually looks better then my inspiration pictures! And they tasted soooo good.
