I gave Daphne a picture of a pickle cake I liked for a pickled themed birthday for my son and asked for something similar. Daphne said "no problem, we'll make it even better," and did she ever! Cake looked AMAZING! We loved it. My favorite part was the detail that went into the "ends" of the pickle. Such great quality! The taste...perfection as well! Not too sweet, great cookies and cream mousse. We were so happy with the result! It was eaten completely! Fondant wasn't too thick. Layered beautifully (not enough time to take pics of that. Oops) SHE EVEN DID "PICKLE JUICE" spillage with sugar. Amazing. Can't recommend Daphne enough. This was our first custom cake ever and we will definitely be reaching out to Daphne in the future. read more

I graduated last year and never had the chance to celebrate it yet. My family and I decided to celebrate it finally on March 5, 2022. One of the things I wanted/needed was a personalized, medical-themed cake for my dessert table. To be honest, I never ordered/bought cake before besides the pre-made cakes at Safeway, Walmart, or whatever. So, I was pretty new with the cake terms and whatnot. I shopped around local Southbay/Eastbay cake places on Yelp and Instagram. Finally, I came across DH Cake Studio. All her cake photos were so pretty, unique, cute, etc any definition you can think of !! She made and baked it all! I texted and emailed for a quote and described to her what I wanted and my vision of my cake. DH Cake Studio responded back in a very timely manner (a couple of hours later or even less) via text. Through text, DH Cake seemed attentive, patient, and detailed to what I was texting and wanting. Long story short, I decided to go with this place because it had a lot of reviews, pretty cake photos, really nice & unique cake designs, and SHE WENT ON FOOD NETWORK! In addition, my older sis and brother-in-law also really loved her work and had their vote on her too. I just had a feeling she wouldn't disappoint me and my cake will turn out exactly what I wanted. I did tell her that I trust her artistic and creative ability, so do whatever she needed to do to make my cake look nice/nicer- told her she can rearrange/add things if she needed as long as it doesn't change my medical theme & cost more money AS WELL change colors to anything on the cake as long as it fits the lavender, gold, and white color theme. The day before my party, she asked me what time I am planning to pick up my cake and sent me what my cake looked like. My first impression... OMFG it's so f'n PRETTY! My WHOLE FAMILY and I thought it was sooooo CUTEEEEE! It came out WAY NICER than we imagined and expected to be. We were speechless and were so happy with the cake. It's difficult to put into words how amazing the whole experience has been with DH Cake Studio. From the quick answer to my initial inquiry to the final delivery. I sent Daphne a picture of the cake I wanted for my son. The final product exceeded my expectations. It was actually better than the picture I sent. Everyone in my son's party commented on how amazing the cake was. We ordered white cake with mango filling. I reached out to DH Cake Studio for a quote on my 50th birthday cake. I was already impressed with the designs that were posted online. Daphne was able to create a custom cake for me based on some of the inspiration pictures I sent and was able to respond to all the questions I had in a timely manner. The cake was delivered to the venue on time and was exactly what I wanted, matching the black, gold, white accent theme I had. I heard many compliments from my guests on how delicious the chocolate/cookies and cream flavor was. Chocolate cake can be a very sweet rich flavor but it came out light and fluffy and not overbearingly sweet. I greatly appreciated Daphne's professionalism, work ethic and business values. This is the second time we have ordered a cake from Daphne. First cake for my daughters birthday and now for a wedding. The cake as usual has been the highlight, was delicious and everybody has been talking about it. Their communication is always clear and I love the way they provide instructions for every step to make sure the cake gets delivered perfectly. We always try to customize. The cake was absolutely stunning!! Everyone was taking photos and asked who made it because it was so beautiful. Thank you so much for giving my daughter the baby shark cake of her dreams! She kept saying "shark" when she saw the cake. The cake tasted amazing!! People loved that it wasn't too sweet and the texture was like no other. I highly recommend DH Cake Studio when you're in the market for a fancy, delicious cake! I decided to work with Daphne based on her repertoire, responsiveness, and that she's based in San Jose. Fortunately she was available for the date I needed a cake and we were able to settle on a cake for my daughter's birthday, which had a first trip around the sun theme. The cake had multiple layers and was well made. It was also securely wrapped for pick up. The actual cake was more delicious that I had expected. For some reason I thought it would only have mousse in the filling, but it actually had prices of mango too which was what I had wanted! The cake was beautifully decorated, but best of all it was tasty, moist and had just the right amount of sweetness. I'd order from Daphne again for future celebrations. I threw a last minute bday/going away party and wanted a cake. DH Cake Studio responded quickly and were able to take my request 2 weeks before the event. The transaction was easy over email, which I appreciate because I had to manage multiple vendors so email was the easiest way to communicate and keep track of all the correspondence. Also, I was in a bind because the venue of my event didn't have a fridge big enough for me to store a cake but DH took care of the delivery for a small fee, which made everything so much easier. I shared a couple of inspiration photos, but didn't have much in mind except for a two tier "adventure awaits" theme. Daphne came back with a description and it sounded good, but still hard to picture how nice it would turn out. Made a couple of tweaks and finalized everything. I could not imagine how gorgeous the cake would actually be! It was so beautiful, everyone was gawking over it and taking many photos and asking where I got it. Daphne even added a rose on it, which was not part of our design, but I had sent her a photo of my flower wall to match the cake and I thought it was a perfect addition to the cake! The best cake I've ever had. The cake was super delicious and a hit. Everyone at the party asked me where I got it. Kids just loved it, all they ate was cake. The sugar was just right. No doubt in Daphne when it comes to cake expertise. Everything was handled in a professional way. After I have sent inspirational pictures, she quickly responded back with a hand drawn mockup. Communication was very smooth via email. Price is reasonable for what I requested. Cake was delivered on time. She did warn me not to leave in the warm air for more than 2 hours but surprisingly the cake was still holding strong after 3.5 hrs in a 75-80 degrees atmosphere. I ordered a chocolate cake with strawberry fillings and it was delicious. Cake was so moist, fillings not too sweet. For my daughter's 3-year old birthday, we ordered from DH Cake Studios after the original vendor could not commit to our date. I just want to say that I'm so glad we picked DH Cake Studio! After filling out the initial questionnaire and a sample image of the cake, I had a few email exchanges with Daphne. Since I don't see many Bubble Guppies theme cake, I was really curious about the design and was actually excited to see the finish product. When we finally received the delivery, we were blown away by the details, colors and the design. I almost didn't want to cut into it because it was just too gorgeous! Before I tasted the cake, I was thinking it could be dry because the last vendor we used with such cake was pretty to look at but didn't taste good at all. OH BOY I WAS WRONG with this one! Not only it looked amazing, the cake was the best I've ever had. Before cutting the cake, there was the pleasant scent on the fondant. The cake was soft and moist with layers of strawberry mousse. For nearly two decades, I've asked my partner for the most ridiculous thing I can think of for my birthday. This year it was a dinosaur princess birthday cake. A girl only turns 45 once! Daphne was so lovely to work with, and help customize special dragon cake pops for a client I was helping throw a party together for! Surprisingly, the store clerk didn't charge me for cupcake! That more than made up for having to drive over to ask about other frosting flavors. The next day I worked with one of their customization team specialists, Claud, to work out the details for the custom decoration. Claud was amazing. He emailed me color samples to be sure I agreed- he emailed me a detailed description on the decoration plan while I was on the phone with him just to be sure we were crystal clear. Instead, I'm now annoyed enough to be writing a catty Yelp review and hoping for Peter Bakery's demise lol -- Edit: just to reiterate here, cause I hate being called a liar. I came the following day and I was told the cake was already donated. My call today was to escalate the item I paid for but was given away. Lastly, no information about donations in the email, nor was a reminder email sent. Rather than checking their systems to verify, they continue to double down. $30 bucks lost on my end, but I hope my review sheds light on their shady customer service. (Btw, still no call back from that co-owner)

From small sweets to large cakes, they make sure they truly understand your vision and work with you until the moment you pick up that cake and shove it in your mouth.
