When I first saw my son's cake, it literally took my breath away. It was perfect! It was a work of art! Not only was it beautiful but it was so delicious! The bread was moist the filling was perfect, not overly sweet and you could taste the flavor of the mixed berries. Communication with the DH Cake team was fantastic. They delivered the cake at the exact time that we agreed upon. It was beautifully packaged and took care in loading it onto my car such exceptional service. I am beyond grateful for for the service I received I will be a repeat customer!
Our first experience with Daphne was back in 2022. I had just graduated from nursing school, and wanted a themed cake for my party. We yelped and researched and came across DH cake studio, it was a plus that she is also a food network cake off champ! We ordered a smaller cake, white cake, with mango mousse. Ever since then we've been hooked. Second time was in 2024 for our sons first birthday. A boombox themed cake, black cake with cookies and creme. Most recently for our son's 2nd birthday, Jollibee themed, back to white cake with mango mousse per our son's request. I cannot stress how easy communication and the design process is. What I love is that Daphne is very communicative, if not through email, through texts. Her cakes are ALWAYS a hit in any age group. Their execution is flawless, and the cakes always taste amazing. To our Asian tongue "not too sweet!" She's a cake off CHAMPION for a reason.
Best custom bakery in town if not the entire Bay Area! I live in Oakland and get my custom cakes here - that's how good it is. Gorgeous cakes and delicious too - we're talking gourmet quality. I ordered the white cake with strawberry filling for my son's first birthday party and ordered the same design as my first son's birthday cake because that's how much I loved it (animal safari). It's a stunning addition to your party - pictures don't do justice to the level of detail Daphne applies to her works of art / cakes. Guests are still talking about the design and the taste - light, delicious, and just the right amount of sweet. This isn't your typical sugar saturated cake that makes you nauseous afterwards. You will not regret your decision, this cake is worth every penny. Just contact her well in advance because she books up fast!!!
I was extremely disappointed with this cake. It was dry, tasted old, and the jam wasn't fresh at all. The decoration was sloppy--you could see folds and holes in the design, and it looked nothing like what I had asked for. What made it worse was being told last-minute (on the same day!) that there would be "slight changes," but the final result looked awful. I expected something beautiful for my 35th birthday cake, based on the promises made, but unfortunately, you did not deliver. I would never order a cake from your shop again, and highly recommend others to stay away. If you want something nice, move on to the next cake maker. After speaking to Daphne she did give me half my money back but I had no dessert for my special day and guests!
Daphne and team did such an amazing job on the custom cake I ordered for my friend's "dumpling themed" baby shower. They were able to turn around the order with only 5 days of notice and totally saved me. The cake got SO many compliments on the day of and was legitimately delicious. Not too sweet, moist (but not wet), with a generous serving of cream and fruit inside. I had leftovers a few days later - still delicious! The team even provided instructions on how to properly cut and serve. Thanks DH!!! Would highly recommend.
My 5 year old daughter picked an inspiration photo of a cake she wanted that was honestly disappointing to me but I didn't want to say no to her so I told her I will send the photo to the cake maker and she will put her creative twist on it. I asked DH Cake to make an elevated version of the cake picture we sent her and she fully delivered. I was blown away when I went to pick it up and my daughter and husband could not stop gushing over the cake when I brought it home. Of course all the guests could not speak enough praise about the beauty and the taste of the delicious cake. DH Cake did an impressive job packaging the cake as well. I had to transport the cake first to my house, then to the party venue and it traveled really well. We will definitely order more cakes for future events. Thank you very much!
I gave Daphne a picture of a pickle cake I liked for a pickled themed birthday for my son and asked for something similar. Daphne said "no problem, we'll make it even better," and did she ever! Cake looked AMAZING! We loved it. My favorite part was the detail that went into the "ends" of the pickle. Such great quality! The taste...perfection as well! Not too sweet, great cookies and cream mousse. We were so happy with the result! It was eaten completely! Fondant wasn't too thick. Layered beautifully (not enough time to take pics of that. Oops) SHE EVEN DID "PICKLE JUICE" spillage with sugar. Amazing. Can't recommend Daphne enough. This was our first custom cake ever and we will definitely be reaching out to Daphne in the future.

I started yelping cake places in San Jose and found DH Cake Studio. I was not disappointed! Ordering the cake was easy and Daphne was very nice and provided so much information and asked questions to get the idea of what I was looking for! She was amazing! When Daphne brought the cake out I was speechless. It was beautiful and exactly what I had in mind. Every detail was carefully crafted. And the pricing was not bad for the quality of work! Hello Kitty 6" single tier heart shaped cake! Vanilla cake with green tea filling. Daphne has exceeded my expectations! She is truly talented & so so sweet! My cake's so beautiful that I had a hard time deciding to cut into it! Haha. Everyone who had a slice LOVED the cake. I personally never had a cake this amazing. I graduated last year and never had the chance to celebrate it yet. My family and I decided to celebrate it finally on March 5, 2022. One of the things I wanted/needed was a personalized, medical-themed cake for my dessert table. To be honest, I never ordered/bought cake before besides the pre-made cakes at Safeway, Walmart, or whatever. So, I was pretty new with the cake terms and whatnot. I shopped around local Southbay/Eastbay cake places on Yelp and Instagram. Finally, I came across DH Cake Studio. All her cake photos were so pretty, unique, cute, etc any definition you can think of !! She made and baked it all! I texted and emailed for a quote and described to her what I wanted and my vision of my cake. DH Cake Studio responded back in a very timely manner (a couple of hours later or even less) via text. Through text, DH Cake seemed attentive, patient, and detailed to what I was texting and wanting. Long story short, I decided to go with this place because it had a lot of reviews, pretty cake photos, really nice & unique cake designs, and SHE WENT ON FOOD NETWORK! In addition, my older sis and brother-in-law also really loved her work and had their vote on her too. I just had a feeling she wouldn't disappoint me and my cake will turn out exactly what I wanted. I did tell her that I trust her artistic and creative ability, so do whatever she needed to do to make my cake look nice/nicer- told her she can rearrange/add things if she needed as long as it doesn't change my medical theme & cost more money AS WELL change colors to anything on the cake as long as it fits the lavender, gold, and white color theme. The day before my party, she asked me what time I am planning to pick up my cake and sent me what my cake looked like. My first impression... OMFG it's so f'n PRETTY! My WHOLE FAMILY and I thought it was sooooo CUTEEEEE! It came out WAY NICER than we imagined and expected to be. We were speechless and were so happy with the cake. We will always come back and trust Daphne. Hands down she's the best ! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

We went back to DH cake studio for the birthday cakes this year, and they lived up to our expectation. The cakes were just as fluffy and light and the filling was delicious. So happy with what they created for my kids' birthday. They are also very responsive to emails/questions and are extremely professional. Try their mango mousse filling! It's yum. read more

Absolutely worth it for a special occasion! We ordered a custom cake from DH Cake Studio for my dad's 60th birthday and I cannot recommend them enough. From the first message to delivery day, they were incredibly communicative and professional -- exactly what you want when ordering something this important. What really stood out was how genuinely helpful they were. When I had a specific cake topper in mind, they stepped in with great suggestions that made the final result even better. Now, the cake itself -- wow. The fondant detailing looked so realistic it was almost a shame to cut into it. The mango mousse filling was light, subtle, and perfectly sweetened -- not overpowering at all. Every bite literally melted in your mouth. DH Cake Studio delivers on their promises and then some. Daphne , delivered beyond and above with my baby shower cake . The execution and the details on the cake were beyond what I asked for ! I was simply thrilled with the final look . Also the cake tasted really good . Their popular mango mousse option is what I went with . Not very sweet and super soft even for tiered fondant cake ! It's difficult to put into words how amazing the whole experience has been with DH Cake Studio. From the quick answer to my initial inquiry to the final delivery. I sent Daphne a picture of the cake I wanted for my son. The final product exceeded my expectations. It was actually better than the picture I sent. Everyone in my son's party commented on how amazing the cake was. We ordered white cake with mango filling. The cake did not only looked great, but it tasted great!, which is usually not expected with fondant covered cakes. This is the second time we have ordered a cake from Daphne. First cake for my daughters birthday and now for a wedding. The cake as usual has been the highlight, was delicious and everybody has been talking about it. Their communication is always clear and I love the way they provide instructions for every step to make sure the cake gets delivered perfectly. We always try to customize. My daughter wanted her LOL dolls on the cake and now it's our dogs we wanted. They find creative ways to manage our requests and I cannot recommend them enough. read more
The cake was absolutely stunning!! Everyone was taking photos and asked who made it because it was so beautiful. Thank you so much for giving my daughter the baby shark cake of her dreams! She kept saying "shark" when she saw the cake. The cake tasted amazing!! People loved that it wasn't too sweet and the texture was like no other. Received lots of comments that it reminded me of the basque cheesecake and it's so true!! I have an Asian family so everyone loved that it wasn't too sweet. I highly recommend DH Cake Studio when you're in the market for a fancy, delicious cake! I decided to work with Daphne based on her repertoire, responsiveness, and that she's based in San Jose. Fortunately she was available for the date I needed a cake and we were able to settle on a cake for my daughter's birthday, which had a first trip around the sun theme. The cake had multiple layers and was well made. It was also securely wrapped for pick up. The actual cake was more delicious that I had expected. For some reason I thought it would only have mousse in the filling, but it actually had prices of mango too which was what I had wanted! The cake was beautifully decorated, but best of all it was tasty, moist and had just the right amount of sweetness. I'd order from Daphne again for future celebrations. The best cake I've ever had. The cake was super delicious and a hit. Everyone at the party asked me where I got it. Kids just loved it, all they ate was cake. The sugar was just right. The fondant is just perfect. I was never a fan of fondant cake but Daphne made me change my mind. The cupcakes are delicious. Above all, my kid loved the cake the design, the Minnie Mouse hat, and everything else about the cake which is worth everything. I threw a last minute bday/going away party and wanted a cake. DH Cake Studio responded quickly and were able to take my request 2 weeks before the event. The transaction was easy over email, which I appreciate because I had to manage multiple vendors so email was the easiest way to communicate and keep track of all the correspondence. Also, I was in a bind because the venue of my event didn't have a fridge big enough for me to store a cake but DH took care of the delivery for a small fee, which made everything so much easier. I shared a couple of inspiration photos, but didn't have much in mind except for a two tier "adventure awaits" theme. Daphne came back with a description and it sounded good, but still hard to picture how nice it would turn out. Made a couple of tweaks and finalized everything. I could not imagine how gorgeous the cake would actually be! It was so beautiful, everyone was gawking over it and taking many photos and asking where I got it. Daphne even added a rose on it, which was not part of our design, but I had sent her a photo of my flower wall to match the cake and I thought it was a perfect addition to the cake! I love her attention to detail. The strawberry cake itself was tasty and not too sweet; it was the perfect amount of sweet. Overall I'm so happy with the cake and so happy we got it! read more

No doubt in Daphne when it comes to cake expertise. Everything was handled in a professional way. After I have sent inspirational pictures, she quickly responded back with a hand drawn mockup. Communication was very smooth via email. Price is reasonable for what I requested. Cake was delivered on time. She did warn me not to leave in the warm air for more than 2 hours but surprisingly the cake was still holding strong after 3.5 hrs in a 75-80 degrees atmosphere. I ordered a chocolate cake with strawberry fillings and it was delicious. Cake was so moist, fillings not too sweet. Overall it was an amazing experience to have Daphne and her team work on this cake for my son's 1st bday. Couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome. read more

I worked with Daphne to get my 100 days celebration cake for my daughter. She was easy to communicate, fast, and very responsive. I looked through her designs and the safari stood out the most. We requested safari design to match our invitation. When I saw the cake, oh my! It was beautiful. A lot of my guests were impressed with the cake design. I also ordered custom cookies... designed were beautiful. I didn't get a chance to taste the cookie since our guest ran to get them. The cake was soft and moist. For nearly two decades, I've asked my partner for the most ridiculous thing I can think of for my birthday. This year it was a dinosaur princess birthday cake. A girl only turns 45 once! I pictured a Costco sheet cake with some dinosaurs stuck in the frosting but instead, I got a spectacular piece of art. The cake was incredible and so detailed- there was even wood grain on the doors and pink crowns on the dinosaurs. It was obvious so much time and skill had been required to make my cake. For my daughter's 3-year old birthday, we ordered from DH Cake Studios after the original vendor could not commit to our date. I just want to say that I'm so glad we picked DH Cake Studio! After filling out the initial questionnaire and a sample image of the cake, I had a few email exchanges with Daphne. Since I don't see many Bubble Guppies theme cake, I was really curious about the design and was actually excited to see the finish product. When we finally received the delivery, we were blown away by the details, colors and the design. I almost didn't want to cut into it because it was just too gorgeous! Before I tasted the cake, I was thinking it could be dry because the last vendor we used with such cake was pretty to look at but didn't taste good at all. OH BOY I WAS WRONG with this one! Not only it looked amazing, the cake was the best I've ever had. Before cutting the cake, there was the pleasant scent on the fondant. The cake was soft and moist with layers of strawberry mousse. The cake itself was a hint of sweetness that paired perfectly together with the fondant. I don't normally eat fondant, but I would eat everything from this cake. Daphne was so lovely to work with, and help customize special dragon cake pops for a client I was helping throw a party together for! And I should add this was a last minute request with the party only one week away!!! (Most bakeries require 2+ weeks in advance for custom cake) I thought I was going to tell my client her request couldn't be done, but Daphne saved the day seamlessly! I ordered my son's high school graduation cake and it was a total hit! Daphne was so kind and e-mails were prompt and attention to detail upon ordering were thorough. Pick up was easy and the presentation of the cake was pretty - a clear box to visualize the entire cake. The cake was gorgeous, even better than I had imagined. I got white cake with mango filling and my guests were raving about how delicious it was. They even wanted some to-go. It was moist, spongy, and not overly sweet. It was soooo good (I have 4 kids and I've had plentyyyy of birthday cakes) and this one is seriously the best-tasting and best looking one! I am so glad I had the opportunity to have a custom cake ordered through the wonderful and famous DH Cake Studio and I would definitely order from here again! 10/10 and I wholeheartedly recommend DH Cake Studio to anyone looking for an amazing cake, both inside and out!! read more
