The decor is awesome and funky and you feel like you discover something new every time you go. We have been by many a time and our favorite goodies would have to be the lavender shortbread, the fleur de sel chocolate cookies (both when they are on their own or when they are sandwiched with some yummy chocolate buttercream in the center), the Homer and Yoga Pants (both members of the Sweet Theory doughnut lineup). They also have an iced tea that is crave-worthy and is very refreshing especially on a hot day! read more

I went with a group of 4 and we were all very happy with our choices. Cupcakes are moist and delicious, lemon bar was very tasty, and cinnamon roll was amazing! I went here for the first time on Wednesday with my date and it I loved it! I got the Lemon Loaf and my date got the Stretch Pants cupcake! The only reason why I give this place a 4/5 is because pricing is a bit much for some sweets. But I understand it's probably because it helps cater to a lot of people that may have certain food allergies like soy/dairy/gluten etc. The loaf and cupcake was 3.50 each, both gluten free! We both enjoyed our sweets and the place is kind of small so not much seating area inside but we managed to sit outside for a little but which was fine. Not what you'd expect. I came here because of the reviews and the photos... I had no idea that it was vegan. If they didn't have signs everywhere I wouldn't have known when I was eating here either. I really love their bakery. Pretty much everything I've gotten from there has been AMAZING! I've ordered my mom's birthday cake which was quite expensive but worth it because I have non-Celiac gluten sensitivity and wanted to be able to enjoy it (neither my mom or dad have gluten issues). They both loved it, too. However, I am becoming increasingly annoyed with their "sold out" policy. I stopped by today after a doctor's appointment to get myself some goodies and found them closed 2 hours before their usual closing time. Their Instagram states they closed around 2pm (4 hours before usual). I was so frustrated because I rarely get a chance to stop in. I posted a blurb on their Instagram and instead of getting an apology or a "how can we make it up to you," I get sarcasm and excuses that they work all day. Apparently not if you close 4 hours before closing time! Not only that, fellow customers got snarky with me saying I should have gotten there sooner! I didn't know they would sell out! Sweet Theory has lost a customer for life. If you feel that it is appropriate to blast someone because they post a complaint, then you don't deserve future business. That is really disrespectful. My sister, too, visits because she has gluten issues and I will be informing her of my poor customer service. read more

BEST VEGAN BREAKFAST SPOT EV.ER. Crazy thing is, is that you would never even know they were made without milk and eggs because everything in there is so delicious! I can't have dairy, so this place is like heaven to me and I always stock up on goodies when I go! The one thing that I do suggest is that you get there relatively early, because they sell out on a lot of their popular items extremely quickly. I've gone several times, so excited to get a dairy free donut, to come and see the "sold out" sign up to crush my hopes and dreams. I've gone back for the Homer Donut 3 times now and each time I get something else new with it... This past time I tried the Samoa Donut (because who doesn't love anything Samoa flavored?) and I was not disappointed. The other sweets I've tried are the Yoga Pants Cupcake and Salted Caramel Brownie Bites, which are all making my mouth water as I'm thinking about them. I branched out one morning and tried one of their biscuits. I got the Throwdown, which I would get again without hesitation. The workers there are awesome! Always in a hurry and rushing around getting all of the orders taken care of, but smiling and laughing throughout the entire process. Holy sugar shock (in a very very good way)! I don't even know where to begin with this place because i was so blown away. For those of you who are non-believers or look upon this place with even the slightest hint of skepticism (YES I admit i was skeptical, sheesh)...GO HERE. The O..M..G..: I arrived mid-afternoon so OF COURSE I was too late to partake in some donut delishusness (darnit). However...what they DID have was a splendid display of drool-worthy desserts to choose from. Sliced loaf cakes, brownies, cupcakes...everything looked and sounded amazing. How was I to single out and embrace just one thing??? Duhh...I didn't. Soooo I narrowed it down to 2 things (and even that was hard) and selected the sea salt and caramel brownie with the "so fudgin' good" cupcake. Now listen...I'm a baker at the day job and a perfectionist at what I do so I know a quality dessert when i bite into it. The brownie...chocolatey, fudgy, with just the right complementary dose of caramel and sea salt. The cupcake...you know how you taste something so exquisite that you nod your head in approval as you're chewing? That was me....as i was thinking "there's NO freakin' EGGS in this stuff???" Yup. The frosting may look like it may be overkill...but it's not. The cupcake was well-balanced in taste, texture, and honestly...i wouldn't have done it differently if i had made it myself. Bravo! The Wrap-Up: Service was also on-point, the lovely gal at the counter was so courteous and excitedly walked me through the different dessert options, so big thumbs up to her! My only regret about this joint is that I hadn't made time to come here until now. If I worked here...I'd gain a solid 50 pounds in a week, easy. Their Theory was right & definitely Sweet! A friend of mine posted a photo of the Salted Caramel Popcorn doughnut on FB and my radar was going crazy. When we wanted to get out of the house prior to heading over to the Jaguars scrimmage, we decided to try a new place for an afternoon treat. We arrived at STBC and I loved their pop culture photos on the walls. While I appreciate the tranquil atmosphere, it was a little dark on this cloudy afternoon and hard to see all of the wonderful offerings in the cases. I was excited to see the doughnut that drew me there in the first place was available. My husband got the lavender shortbread and my nephew ordered the (big as the plate) snickerdoodle cookie sandwich. As we found our perch on the comfy couch in the front window, we were ready to dive in. The doughnut was fluffy, yet dense. The icing was perfectly sweet and provided enough balance to the yeast doughnut. I highly doubt my selection was gluten free, but to know that it was egg/dairy/etc free and that they do offer GF options was super exciting. Yes, I agree my life would be so much sadder without gluten, but my sister in law & my BFF are both GF and to be able to take them somewhere to indulge in a sweet treat is great. While the Donuts are great, the Dough-Muff keeps bringing me back! Other favorites include the Sea Salt Caramel Brownie Bite! Holy Moly! They are as amazing as they sound! The salty caramel just oozes through once you bite into its chocolaty moist perfection causing the reaction of a moan and knees buckling. Favorite Donuts: Fat Daddy: A chocolate coated donut with marshmallows and a heap of chocolate chip cookie dough in the middle!!! Soooooo good when warmed!!! Salted Caramel Popcorn: The donut topped with caramel drizzled popcorn adding an amazing buttery crunch! Despite lacking milk and flour, the pastries I enjoyed were moist, hearty, and flavorful! Specifically, I tried the maple "bacon" donut and the "So Fudging Good" cupcake. Very small inside and the tables were not clean. The first thing I ordered was the cinnamon coffee cake (GF). It was so dense and sweet I couldn't eat it. You really need to share it and have a cup of coffee. I would not order this again. So, I threw it out because it frankly wasn't worth the calories, and got a regular donut instead. The Samoa was delightful! The texture of the yeast dough was on point, and the toppings were very good. The first female who helped me was super chatty and friendly, the second one not so much. A wide selection of treats for vegan, gluten free and nut free diets! On my family's most recent visit, we decided to sit inside and enjoy a couple of our treats. We ordered an iced coffee, white bean sausage biscuits, a cinnamon roll, maple donuts with coconut bacon and a pink frosted donut called the Homer. The shop was busy, but the girls behind the counter kept the line moving while remaining very friendly. We paid for our goods, got the donuts and roll right away, but they said it would be a few minutes on the biscuits. We took a seat, grabbed some water and waited for the biscuits. A few minutes later one of the employees dropped them off at the table. As soon as I took a bite, I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing! It was heavenly. The white bean sausage biscuits are absolutely amazing! I don't know how they do it, but they taste so close to what I remember sausage tasting like. We took the rest of our baked goods to go, but they didn't make it back to Gainesville...we ate them all on the ride home! While they are delicious, these fried (but in coconut oil!) circles of doughy goodness will set you back $3.00 -- each! I've tried the chai and orangesicle. On my last visit I enjoyed a gluten-free banana maple whoopie pie which was so moist it was more like an inverted cupcake. I like that the selection rotates each day and there's a variety: cookies, whoppie pies, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, etc. I've yet to try the coffee (a la Bold Bean Coffee Roasters) or egg creams but hear they're delicious.
