We just had pizza from Sweet Tomatoes in Chatham. I have to say I am surprised at the negative reviews here on Yelp. Many seem a bit old so maybe that's part of the problem. Regarding the place itself...they have a new location on Main St. In Chatham and have added an outdoor patio area too! Tonight we got a Rustica pizza to go. It was fantastic. The crust is nice and thin. Red sauce is tasty with just the right amount of garlic. This pizza has sausage ( sliced thin ) with spinach, roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese. It was so good. My husband, our friend and I were so thrilled to find a good pizza place here in Chatham. Sweet Tomatoes will definitely be our go to spot from now on. Delightful pizza stop in Chatham near the end of the Old Colony Rail Trail. We enjoyed a 1/2 & 1/2 (Greek/3-Cheese) pizza and took subs to-go for the bike ride back to Yarmouth. Wonderful patio to enjoy this beautiful Cape Cod day and some amazing pizza. I can't wait to come back!! read more

We arrived at 5:25 tonight and there was only 2 people ahead of us. When our beer cans were handed to us the tops were covered in what looked like sand. I asked what was on the can and the employee said it is flour used for the pizzas with no attempt to clean them off. I was shocked that this employee did not have the sense to clean it off. I asked her to please rinse off the top and she seemed annoyed. Suddenly within 10-15 minutes after our order a surge of people came in - probably 5 or 6 tables. Our order got lost and management did not seem to care. After 50 minutes I went and asked about it and they said oh it's here and will be out in 10 minutes. No concessions or offers of a drink on the house or credit off our bill. Pizza was just average. read more

Okay, so I've had a lot of pizza in my life...in many parts of the US. The pizza here is excellent, we got it for pickup. A bustling pizza shop, it was busy at dinner time. Great sauce and great thin crust. Beat's Upper Crust up in Boston. This is a thin crust pizza, not greek style, or thick crust, or like dominos etc. Crust had a great crunch and texture. If you don't like thin pizza, well, you won't like this. But for us it was the perfect ratio of toppings to crust. read more

Our salads were great too - Mediterranean and Greek with very good produce and well balanced dressings. Young woman at the counter was lovely and let us know our pizzas would be 30 minutes. The owner of this location is extremely unprofessional and rude. I have food allergies, which many restaurants can easily accommodate without issue. When I started explaining my allergy, the owner cut me off mid sentence without even listening and was extremely rude and condescending. I always understand if a restaurant does not feel comfortable accommodating an allergy, but at least do it with respect and professionalism- this is a medical disorder, not a high maintenance demand. read more

The staff is sweet too! We went there once and had to return two days later because the margherita pizza was so perfect. It's situated a little bit apart of the main street traffic but it worth the few more minutes you have to walk. read more

Insanely bad service. Like, you can't really believe somebody in a restaurant is talking to you like this. The owner/manager seems a bit imbalanced. I tried Sweet Tomatoes the other day. Seems we have a pattern here (after reading other reviews). I called ahead, got put on hold twice but finally put in my order. I sent my son to pick up the pizza. The manager told him they never got the order. So I decided to stop by myself and see what was up. The manager (owner?) barked at me and said someone had already stopped by and they didn't get our order. I said, "Well, I called it in." The guy snaps at me and said "it's not here." Full disclosure, the pizza is really good there but I'm not going back. The manager (or whomever the older guy is) is not exactly a pro at running a pizza joint. Here's the deal: you run a pizza place in a summer/tourist town so you should expect business to get sort of chaotic, you know, during the summer. Deal with it. Clearly, this guy can't. read more

Can't believe the low rating for this place- we stopped by on the off chance about 15 minutes before closing and ordered a pepperoni pizza to share. The girl behind the counter insisted we stay to eat in if we wanted, even though it was close to closing, as they had clearing up to. It took less than 10 minutes to arrive and it was soooooo delicious! Really thin and crispy base and delicious tomato sauce- so much so that we have already decided to return before our trip is over and to just go for cheese and tomato so nothing can distract from the yummy sauce! For any New Yorker like myself who loves a traditional thin crust pie, this is the place. Perfectly charred crust with a good ratio of sauce, cheese and ample toppings. Chunky tomato sauce with a nice balance of tart/sweet as the name suggests. Pie was ready and piping hot within the 15 minute estimate we were given. Friendly, professional staff and reasonable prices. Under $20 for a generously sized large 1/2 cheese, 1/2 mushroom/sausage, using all quality ingredients. I'm a fan! I'll be back soon! read more

I would give this place zero stars if that was possible. Last summer, we ordered two pizzas for our family by phone. My husband asked the clerk to read back the order, he did, and told him 20 minutes. He drove over, and when he arrived, was told that they never got the order. This year, we decided to give it a second chance, thinking that had to be a fluke. This time, I called. I ordered a large pizza, gave my name and asked how long it would take. They said 15 minutes. We arrived 15 minutes later, and surprise! were told that they never got our order. They immediately blamed us for "calling their other location." I checked my phone log and confirmed we had the number right. Standing in the store, you can see that they have a bunch of cordless phones. The tiny, young staff seems to be responsible for making pizza, taking orders, and ringing people up. They were apologizing to the woman next to me for forgetting her fries. The manager was beyond rude. The attitude is that they have a captive audience who won't be repeat customers anyway. We ended up going to Carmine's Pizza- the service was great and the pizza was excellent. Avoid this place if you'd actually like to eat something or be treated with any sort of respect for trying to patronize a local business. read more

I hate to give any business a 1-Star review, let alone a Cape Cod business, but unfortunately this will have to be my first. My family and I ordered a large white clam and a small cheese pizza from Sweet Tomatoes on a regular Summer Tuesday night and waited for nearly twenty minutes in the restaurant for our pizzas to be ready (which were finally ready 20 minutes past their promised time). I hoped that the pizza was going to be worth the wait despite the very slow service and the mistakes that I saw being made on several other orders while I waited. Unfortunately for Sweet Tomatoes, the pizza did not. Now, in all fairness, the menu did not say that there would cheese on the white clam pizza, but I must say that it was just very odd to eat a white clam pizza without cheese (I had figured that cheese on a white clam was a given). It was strangely dry and pieces of basil literally flew off into the wind with the slightest breeze on our backyard porch while eating. Although the cheese was a little better and I understand that this pizza is Neapolitan-style pizza, I have never witnessed such thin pizza at such a high price in my entire life. The small cheese for $11 wasn't bad, but the $21 white clam is nearly incomprehensible. Sure it was pretty big, but it seemed like nothing was on it and that I was eating just the pizza crust. I suggest more staff to decrease wait times and a clear indication that there is literally nothing but a few clams, few pieces of basil, and trace amounts of olive oil on their white clam pizza. read more
