Jackie was great from the beginning of the process and made sure that I got the flavors and design that I wanted. On the day of my wedding she even placed flowers on the cake for me at no extra charge because I was running behind. The cakes were amazing! I have never had cakes that moist and flavorful. I got the white chocolate cake with white chocolate icing, and the omg chocolate cake. My guests all agreed they were the best cakes they had ever had. I used Sweet Treets for my wedding in October. My only regret is that I didn't eat more of the cupcakes at my reception. Jackie was very professional and friendly. I truly appreciated her help while I decided on the cupcake flavors. I felt comfortable asking lots of questions, and she was very honest. Examples: I asked about changing the style or color to the cupcakes or icing. She was very honest about when changes would compromise the flavor (which was more important to me than the style). In a world where so many vendors try to give the answers that will "make the bride happy", it pleased me to find someone who cared enough about their product to be honest if something would mess with the flavor. Did I mention the prices? It didn't make me winch at all, which was great after checking with other places in the area. I've also stopped by a few times to buy some of the cake balls. Our experience with Sweet Treets was GREAT!! We hired Sweet Treets to prepare our wedding cake and it was BEAUTIFUL and the cake was DELICIOUS!!! They make buttercream look like fondant so that tells you how amazing they are. The staff was friendly and they fit us in though we were booking them pretty close to the wedding date. The only thing I did not enjoy was being charged to taste more than 4 flavors, but, we ended up picking a number of different flavors and our absolute favorite was the spiced pumpkin with dulce de leche frosting! It was perfect for a winter wedding and everyone loved it! We had a number of people comment on how much they enjoyed the cake. Wow, I am beyond impressed with Sweet Treets Bakery! First of all, our consultation was top notch. Lisa was attentive, informative, and provided my fiance and I with the perfect, private tasting. A nice touch was that her computer screen was displayed on a bigger TV screen that we could see, so we could follow along with pricing and watch as it added up. Very interactive and helpful. Lisa was great with replying to my many emails too! Finally, the cake on the day of the wedding was amazing. The cakes from Sweet Treets Bakery are absolutely delicious. My fiance and I tasted their cakes at the Bridal Extravaganza. They showcased their willingness to impress possible customers when we asked if they had vanilla cake samples, since my fiance much prefers the vanilla flavor. They double-checked, and they said that they still had some leftover. We tried their vanilla cake, champagne cake, chocolate cake, and their cakeballs, and they all were amazing. However, the owner had our love with the magic words, "We can prepare fondant cakes, but they are not necessary and I do not enjoy the taste of fondant. I much prefer buttercream, which is easy to fix if there is a mistake." We have yet to make an official decision for our chosen bakery as we still need to assess our cheaper options, but Sweet Treets is in the lead. read more

We worked with Jackie at Sweet Treets. She did such an great job executing what we wanted. My colors were blush and gold. A lot of times people do not get the color blush right. She got it perfect and it blended so nicely with our decor. I was expecting to pay a lot more than we did but their prices are reasonable and you get beyond what you pay for. Jackie was so excited to create our cake and was raving to her staff how beautiful it is going to be. We planned our wedding 1500 miles away from Austin and Jackie was more than responsive to every question and request via phone and email. When it came to game day, we could not have been happier. A little about me: I love cake. Love it. I am one of those wedding guests who always tries the cake, no matter what. If I'm on a diet, if it doesn't look good, whatever...I will always try it. So when the time came for me to plan my own wedding, cake took a top spot on my list of priorities. Sweet Treets was highly recommended by a friend who works in the wedding industry. They really appealed to us because they prefer using only buttercream for frosting and decoration instead of fondant. Fondant can look pretty and give you a look that buttercream just can't...but fondant just doesn't taste as good as buttercream. We ended up going with alternating layers of the Strawberry Champagne (so delicious) and the Valrhona Chocolate with Salted Caramel Filling (also...so delicious). We worked with Jackie on the decorations, and she was an absolute delight. We brought in pictures of several cakes that we liked parts of, and she combined them all into the most stunning (and delicious) cake ever. Each and every guest has told us how delicious the cake was. We also ordered tiny lemon meringue pies that we served as late night snacks, and those were a hit as well. While I won't be planning another wedding, I will absolutely be going to Sweet Treets for any cake/baked good needs from here on out. read more

While I have ordered cakes from here many times and been blown away, I finally have decided to tell everyone how freaking amazing this bakery is. They did my wedding cake at the beginning of January and while it was for 150 people, I think I could have eaten it all by myself. It was that AMAZING! I'm sure their cakes are amazing, but I do not recommend going to this place if you need to order a few cupcakes. Their customer service is terrible. The lady I talked to was visibly annoyed at every single one of my questions. I walked in on a Tuesday planning to order 20 cupcakes for my daughter, for a party on Friday. The lady didn't even say hello, she proceeded to list all the things I could NOT do: You cannot order any decorations on your cupcakes, you cannot order any fillings, you cannot order many cupcakes. I tried to grab a notepad to write down my order, she coldly informed me she would be the one writing down the order. I should have walked out at this point, but their cupcakes have such good reviews, so I decided to stay. I started to say "ok, I want to order 5 strawberry...", she interrupted me right away: "You cannot order individual cupcakes, they have to be all of the same flavor". Seriously?? I calmly said "it sounds like you are trying to tell me I should have ordered my 20 cupcakes several days ago, when do your customers usually place their orders?" Her reply "two to three weeks in advance". WOW, 3 weeks in advance for 20 cupcakes? How about you post that information on your website? (which I carefully read before the long drive to the store), or, if you obviously dislike talking to your customers so much about your many rules, how about you post a big sign at the store's entrance? That way I could have read it and walked out of the store without talking to a very rude employee. If your main business is selling cakes, and you don't care about people who want to order a few cupcakes, then I suggest you stop selling cupcakes. I am not coming back. I will get my fancy and overpriced cupcakes from Whole Foods, my daughter won't know the difference. And who knows, maybe the lady was tired and overworked, in that case Sweet Treets needs to hire more employees and/or treat them better. read more

Wanted to try this place because I heard it was decent. When I walked in I was greeted by a pretty unfriendly employee. Because I had never been there before, I was looking at all they had to offer and could tell the women was very impatient and I felt rushed to order. She looked annoyed at my indecisiveness. Cakes here are very well decorated, and pretty. The first and last cake I will ever buy here was so bad that we threw it in the garbage. Be careful when hiring this bakery for your wedding.. Our cake topper broke before our guests even arrived!! We had a fantastic experience from the tasting to the presentation of the cake. Jackie was very creative and informative through the process. Unfortunately, when it came to the day of, Sweet Treets ruined a $1500 cake experience for us. They told us they would take ownership of placing our cake topper on our very expensive cake. The woman in charge of this is supposedly one of the most experienced team members. Apparently, she just placed our porcelain cake topper on top of the cake without securing it in any way. With 275 people at our wedding, inevitably someone will bump the cake table. When I spoke to the owner, she took no ownership of the situation and claimed this is how it is done (I have since found out otherwise through my online research). I'd like to think that anyone with experience would understand the importance of this situation and would anticipate the table being slightly bumped. When you have no oversight of situations like this on the day of your wedding.. I would be very careful to trust this task to Sweet Treets Bakery. read more

Jackie at Sweet Treets Bakery provided us a two layer wedding cake for our wedding on 4/16. It was disgusting. The red velvet bottom layer was so dry that the icing sloughed off when cut and the OMG chocolate top layer was pasty and not cooked well at all. We had our wedding planner call to complain. They stated that they would credit us the amount of the cake. We never received it. We also hired them to do cupcakes and a single layer cake the next week 4/23 at our friends celebration as part of the overall job. I spoke to Jackie personally. She assured me that it was a fluke and that the Celebration cake would be perfect. The cupcakes were fine but the cake, again was a disaster. It was pasty and I would not serve it to my 100 plus guests. I called her and she stated that if the cupcakes were alright that I did not know what I was talking about on the cake. Well, I know that a cake is not supposed to look like a wet brick inside. I was so incensed with the conversation because she did not care one bit! Give this company lots of thought before you do business with them. read more

Ordered a round cake with a design on it for my girlfriend's birthday. Discussed the design over the phone in detail, seemed to me that we were on the same page. The cost justified what I had asked for (cost of the basic cake plus cost of design). When I received the cake I was disappointed. Appeared that they spent about 10 minutes on the design. My girlfriend was also disappointed. The cake was tasty but not worth my effort or the price paid. I've seen some great photos of their work. My recommendation is to have something drawn up or a photo to go on. Verbal communication is not going to cut it. read more

Sweet Treets is by far the best bakery in Austin! Their cakes are beautiful and I love their unique selection of flavors! My favorites are vanilla with lemon or lime curd filling, strawberry (made with REAL strawberries), and hummingbird (similar to carrot cake). I normally don't like butter cream icing, but they make it very light and not too sweet so it's perfect! I called last Monday to get a special cake for my granddaughter's 4th birthday. I had called so many places and was told they were too booked to do it. I live in Houston and was trying to get this done knowing it might not be possible. Sweet Treats looked at the pictures I emailed and said they could do my favorite design. My daughter picked the cake up and texted a pic. It was amazing in it's detail and I got to see it Sunday at the party. I ordered my UT graduation cake from here after hearing a good review from a friend. I emailed as well as spoke with them on the phone and gave very detailed design and color descriptions. Unfortunately, the easiest parts are what they got wrong. I asked for orange and white (UT colors) and instead got orange and black (Halloween much?). Even worse than that, their Longhorn wasn't even shaped like a UT Longhorn. It looked like a western longhorn. I know a lot of their cakes have a western longhorn but I have seen some with a UT Longhorn so I know it's possible. I was extremely embarrassed to show up to my graduation party and not even have one of the worlds most recognized symbols properly depicted on my cake. Wow! This bakery is over the moon awesome! My daughter had her wedding cake and the grooms cake designed and baked by Sweet Treets Bakery (11-3-2013). We so enjoyed the initial cake tasting. We picked out four different flavors and they were all a big hit. We've been back several times making payments toward the order for the wedding and we go in person because we want to pick up a cupcake or cake balls to satisfy our sweet tooth. The wedding day was great, not only did the design knock everyone's socks off but the taste of the cakes were the biggest hit of the night. People were overheard saying that the cakes were the best cake of any kind they'd ever had. People that attended the wedding are still talking about the cakes. We also had an assortment of sweet treats on the side and the lemon squares were so good that we have placed an order for more already. This bakery will also be doing pies for the holidays with a good selection to order from and the prices are great. We are already looking at the list of goodies to order. i ordered a big cookie for my daughter's birthday. I actually gasped a little when I opened the box. It was SO cute! This is not your average giant-cookie-from-the-mall cake (although those are pretty addictive). This was like twice as thick, chocolate chip cookie goodness. I don't even know where to start! Jackie McGrath and Sweet Treets Bakery are amazing!!! I'll start by saying I jumped the gun. Like most eager brides, I want the perfect wedding and wedding cake. A week after I got engaged I went into Sweet Treets and picked out a GORGEOUS cake and put my deposit down. That was around June 2014...It's now October 2015. At the time I left my deposit, I didn't even have a date picked nor a venue lol. I just knew I wanted that cake! Not knowing how difficult it would be to find the perfect venue or how expensive it would be, I kept her updated and finally (after about a year), she emailed me a final invoice. It was for the original wedding date I gave her. I informed her that we were no longer going on that date and I was aware I would lose my deposit. I let her know, I still loved her cakes and I would tell her when we had a FOR SURE date. So now, I finally have my date set and my venue picked out. I emailed her and asked if she still had my information on file. She did and said she was available to make my cake! This is where she gets even more amazing than her delicious cakes.... In the email, I told her that I noticed the invoice still had my deposit on it. I know she's running a business and I was prepared to pay it again (because let's be honest I jumped the gun and it was my fault not being prepared). Long story short she allowed me to keep the deposit and was very sweet and understanding. There's nothing else I can say. She's amazing. If you are in the least bit skeptical about Sweet Treets, DON'T BE! They are amazing and they really do have GREAT cakes and customer service!! Now, if only she owned a bridal shop, floral shop, catering business, could do hair and makeup I'd be set! :-). read more
