This is my go to place for a nice fresh salad! They have a ton of options which are all great. My favorite is the kale and goat cheese salad. I make my own based off their old menu and it includes: kale, brown rice, cucumber, goat cheese, (beats if wanted), goat cheese, tofu and balsamic vinaigrette! Absolutely fantastic! I was there Sunday October 3rd, 2021 around 4:30 pm, I ordered a Guacamole green, the guy who was working added half an avocado that had big black piece in the center, it looked bad, I asked him to cut it, first he told me "why" I told him it is bad then he took a piece not the whole thing but I told him to take more, he told me "cut it yourself" then he changed the piece for me with a one the had black piece as well and when he was smashing it in the salad he added "IT WON'T KILL YOU" which was SO SO SO RUDE TO SAY!!! You are supposed to serve good fresh greens and salads and act professionally not so rude like this. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND THIS BRANCH SPECIFICALLY! Just found out the the "compostable" bowls they've been serving my salads in contain cancer causing chemicals. Recent tests performed on the containers determined that they contained high levels of fluorine, which indicates per- and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals (PFAs) were likely used to make them more durable, according to researchers. The presence of the chemicals has been linked to health problems such as kidney and testicular cancers, thyroid disorders, decreased sperm quality and pregnancy-induced hypertension. Furthermore, the chemicals don't degrade naturally in the environment. They are making compost more toxic, adding to the chemical load of the very soil and water they were supposed to help improve. I am beyond disappointed how Sweetgreen has gotten so horrible in every way. My husband and I both have an app we have been customers for years. Just using my husband' s app we have spent over $1,000. During the pandemic the service has gone down in pretty much every location that we visited, mainly Merrifield and crystal city.. The chicken, sweet potatoes, etc... dry and stale. They have been messing up our orders and when go back to give feedback, we literally have been ignored. I use to love this place but the customer service has gone down and the last two times when I go after the gym at night around 9 pm they've been out of bread. I understand they don't want to waste bread but if they're open they should ensure that they have it available. I added goat cheese to my salad and the guy added a tiny little scoop which they charge for but when they didn't have bread, you would think they would have the added charge of the goat cheese knocked off as a courtesy because it's only $1. A normal restaurant would do this but the manager and the guy who made my salad had attitude and said there wasn't anything they could offer for not having the bread that comes with the salad. I have been going to Sweetgreen in NYC for years, and when I moved down here I was excited that there was a location nearby. I order pickup and it is always ready on time, so no complaints there, but I have to say there is a significant difference in portion size from the NYC locations. I used to always feel that Sweetgreen was a great value, and I usually wouldn't even be able to finish my bowl. The employees seem ill trained; they don't put in uniform amounts of the ingredients; they weren't friendly; and they put in waaaaaay too little lettuce. The salads at this location are like 1/2 the size of other locations. It makes for an overall shittier experience where you the customer have to micromanage them to make sure you get a decently made salad or, if you don't, you just get a shitty salad that leaves a bad taste in your mouth which is why people are bitching that it's "too expensive" because, for a shitty salad, it is. But if you got a good salad with sunny service (like at other locations), you would think it justifies he price. Food is good, but the people who work here are inconsistent. The girl who was portioning my ingredients had to ask me what else was in it. And she clearly didn't know how much of each ingredient to put in because her fellow coworkers had to correct her multiple times. And I'm confused whether my meal comes with bread or if it is extra, because last time I was offered it for free and this time it was never offered, and I see there's no bread with my meal :( Mostly I'm not giving a good rating because they ran out of beets and didn't tell me until halfway through making my meal, which is the main reason I chose that meal. I like the idea of a protein packed salad for lunch, it sounds great. Eating healthy while getting full or satiated isn't easy. The execution falls short though in my opinion and it's because of the cost. A regular salad is around $12, if you were to add extra protein you're now looking at a $15 salad. In a lot of my reviews on restaurants I usually make some comment about the salads. I'm not a vegitarian, and I am not a small eater, but there is something that is so wonderful about a nice, big, need-a-toothpick-when finished salad. So behold- sweetgreen. These are some serious salads. Any of the menu selections are a good bet. Personally I am in love with the "Beets Don't Kale My Vibe" and the "Hummus Tahina".They offer up tons of variations and variety was well. In the Hummus Tahina they give you the option of mixing the hummus in (like a dressing) or having it on top (so you can dip your little pita chips in it). Feel free to add in as many proteins as you like for an upcharge of course, and obviously if you're feeling creative you can create your own salad too. You can make them as healthy and green, or as loaded as you like, and all salads come with the option of a big piece of bread. The staff has always been great on all my trips here, and the line moves very quickly. Great for a light dinner or lunch drop in. The house made beverages are great, but at 3$ for a 12oz cup I am looking for a little more. There are a large selection of bottled beverages as well. My favorite is the arugula with quinoa and roast chicken... so refreshing and healthy! However, $10/salad can be pretty hefty... I guess being healthy always comes at a price. They also offer iced teas and frozen yogurt and the employees definitely know what they're talking about if you have any questions! The employee told me extra meat was $2 and I said okay and she barely gave me anything and I let her know and then upon check out she said it was two servings of extra meat and tried charging me $6 instead of $2. I've had nothing but bad experiences with the Sweetgreen in Mosaic. Multiple times I have ordered delivery through their website and not received my order until 1-2 hours after the scheduled delivery time. Extremely frustrating as I'm a nurse and this means I don't get to eat my lunch. Also have dealt with extremely bad attitudes from employees and their help line is absolutely useless. Impossible to speak with an actual person to check on the status of an order. I've tried using the texting option and it took 6 hours for someone to respond. Generally I love sweetgreen and the salads are delicious, but the delivery service is abysmal. If I return, it would only be for in person ordering. read more

She told me exactly how long it will take, and starts preparing my salad to make my wait shorter. I decided to give this place another try since it was so popular with others. I went around lunch time and the place was starting to pick up. The line wasn't out the door by the time I walked in but it was getting there. It only took about five minutes to get to the front of the line. I ended up getting the avocado greens again since that is what I had the first time I came in. The process was fairly quick and I decided to go with heavy dressing this time. Since it was decent outside I went and ate at a bench. The salad was packed in there this time and was full of chicken and greens. The avocado was sliced up well so there were chucks of it everywhere. There wasn't a ton of lime in it this time which was great. My gf and I stopped in after a fitness class (I wanted pizza but was forced into lettuce). The decor and set up is really cute, hip, and tidy, definitely a hipster hangout in Mosaic. I was a bit confused about the ordering process- some items were listed in hand-writing that was a bit too small to read, or may my eyes aren't as good as everyone else's. I also couldn't locate a hand-held menu so when it was my turn I winged it and it turned out alright! My base salad was $6 and some change which includes lettuce, veg, and a protein..or so I thought? Again, it was hard to make sense of the items listed on the boards. I opted for romaine and added cucumber, peppers, chicken, and cheese mixed in cucumber dressing..cheese is an additional charge which I wasn't aware of either at the time. My reasonable, fairly bare salad came to over $10..it's not like I was getting a chunk of chicken and cheese in every bite, it was just a little pricey for what I got. (Also, I've always been a little suspicious of healthy food in general, namely that I think it will never taste good, but I'm glad to find out I was wrong!) I ordered the Honey Hot Chicken and it was really good. So good that I went to another location the next day and was sadly disappointed. The Mosaic location did a good job making this dish. The chicken was flavorful l, fresh and looked and tasted like blackened chicken. The vegetables were fresh and tasted good. The potatoes were firm but soft enough to eat.
