Today my first (and last) visit to sweet greens. I arrived and I told the barista that it was my first time here, I want to get two salads, can I get a chopped salad? "No we won't chop anything" okay what salads can I get. "Whatever you see here" ... This reminds of subway but at subway there's a menu. So basically I'm on my own. There's no signage as what is what's I had to ask is that cheese, what is that, is that onion or... tha barista was annoyed. Not friendly and seemed rushed I'm not sure for what only one other person arrived in the time I was there and was being helped. So basically I just picked overpriced insipid ingredients and they plopped some dressing in Baltic containers in my covered salads. Plus I asked what is that potatoes thing? It was a sort of French fry that I added. And I was charged $50.66 (including 10% tip)... so I had to take the food back to the house and chop it up, toss it, and it was basic, lackluster overpriced salad. I like to spend money on Good food. I appreciate good service and friendly helpful service people. I guess summer jobs are not what they used to be. You must be intuitive these days or use an app and pre order on a phone device to get anything. If you pay extra for bread they give you one measly little slice. Not worth the cost. Didn't like this place. I have had sweetgreen before in Santa Monica, CA last summer. The location was a bit unkept? Needed a cleaning and the air felt muggy inside the shop. Not a good sensation to have in a salad shop. It makes you question your salads freshness. Just an observation. The salad was meh, and they were out of a lot of toppings and not very helpful of what possibilities there were. I think the staff was tired. This spot in Greenbrae being brand spanking new was all that I had hoped the other one I tried would be. Crisp, Cool and Clean. I got the Buffalo Chicken Salad and it wasn't overly crispy if at all. I liked all the parts that came with it. I did add cucumber. My kids enjoyed making their own custom salad, my husband tried the crispy rice. I look forward to trying the other salads. It lands below Blue Barn salads and above the Chicken spot near Blue Barn. This had a lot more healthy components to add which I appreciate. $15 salads have to earn your respect~ so I think it is worth a try and they are big enough to share. Grabbed a salad from here a few days ago! The Shroomami was very tasty! This is a perfect place for people with dietary restrictions. I'm not usually a salad person but I really enjoyed this. Downright overjoyed that Sweetgreen parked their wagon at Bon Air Shopping Center. We've been big fans of their brand for years and really didn't like having to drive all the way into the East Bay to get one of their salads. We just had our first visit here today and it was excellent. The location itself is beautiful and Bon Air Shopping Center has plenty of really nice outdoor seating areas. This will be a super busy location without question. Our salads today were extra fantastic. Could be that we were just hungry but I'm pretty sure they were just made well. Fresh fresh fresh! The Shroomami is the way to go. It's one of the best vegan salads anywhere. The staff here were also great. Very friendly and helpful. I look forward to eating here a lot. Not sure however why they're not open past 3pm and closed on the weekends but I'm sure that will change once they're fully staffed. Keep that in mind if you're in the mood SG. It really saddens me to give this review since I was a frequent here at least once a week before. But after several negative encounters with staff here, I've stopped going here. The server behind the counter have attitude. I ordered a children's harvest which had no greens. I was told they do not put greens on it but the adult version does. Children are Californians too and grow up on greens. No offer to add, attitude, attitude. On the check out server said push the white button. There is NO white button. The NO tip button is so often used that is is greyed out by use. This is what she meant. If you want a tip you have to do a way better in food, descriptions, menus, and customer service. First one in line for the new Sweetgreen shop at Bon Air Shopping Center. The store is brand spanking new and immaculate. All the staff are friendly and well trained. Now for the food.... delicious! I got a warm bowl with quinoa, chicken, sweet potato, beets and Brussels sprouts. Super tasty! The set up is similar to Chipotle where you stand in line and point to what you want on your salad or bowl. There is also a large menu of salad and bowl concoctions. So first of all I have to agree with the review that says "If you like to be ignored" soooo true, in all of the times I've walked in they have never muttered a word, they have terrible customer service here no one talks to you it's like you a are invisible. Anyway I usually go in early to try and get in and out. I have always gotten the same salad here. Consistently delicious. Today however they had about 3-4 ingredients that were no longer on the menu (in the salad that made it great) so they asked me if I wanted substitutes I of course said yes. The two servers were nice I made a comment that I wouldn't be coming here again a little disappointed because I come for this 1 salad and one of the workers said "Good for you!" Crispy Rice Bowl - Ordered for delivery and it came under 30 minutes, it had the right balance of crunch with the cucumbers, nuts, & raw carrots and the dressing and lime topped it off making it a very well-rounded bite. Probably just a little bit too much arugula but it doesn't hurt to have more greens than barely. I had a peach kale salad with green goddess ranch. It was extremely filling and I could not finish it but I did Enjoy it.

We've gotten salads from there three or four times now, and they varied from being excellent to being mediocre. The food ingredients are fine and fresh, but the assembly of the salads is somewhat inconsistent. For example, when we checked the box for cucumber, there was only one slice of cucumber in the entire salad! and another time the amount of spinach greens was sort of nebbish for a salad. So in summary, fresh tasty ingredients, a lovely place, very nice people, a very good app for your iPhone, but they need to work on consistency. read more

I'm so happy Sweetgreen opened at this shopping center! I'm new to the Greenbrae area and was so excited to see a local SF favorite. The chicken Caesar is delicious - I recommend adding mushrooms if you're extra hungry! The portions are huge and the salads have a bunch of unique ingredients. You can also make your own salad if you'd prefer to customize the whole experience. The staff was really nice and capable - quick service for sure. I'm sure I'll be back often, maybe more often than I should haha :) read more

I like their offerings and use fresh ingredients. They also change up the menu frequently. My issue with them is lack of quality control for take out orders. Whether I've picked it up in person or had it delivered, there's been a few times now that my salads did not include the items I added to the salad at an additional cost. I've tried calling the restaurant when this has happened (without success) so they might learn if certain team members need a bit more training. So if you're ok with some missteps, give it a try. read more

Work did a sweetgreen delivery a couple of weeks ago and I was delighted! Here in Greenbrae I was able to see the full menu and buffet of choices. I chose a classic kale Caesar and am looking forward to it. I was a bit surprised at the speed and efficiency (both great!) and then watched the more experienced team member shift her focus away from me to "close" the transaction and help me have a pleasant, memorable experience. My wife and I tried out this eatery today. Found the food to be very tasty and thoughtfully prepared. The menu consists principally in a variety of dinner size salads all of a healthy bent... I enjoyed the Harvest Salad which consisted of small pieces of roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, a wild rice pilaf, a nice amount of fresh goat cheese and some roasted almonds all on a bed of fresh kale. The creamy balsamic vinaigrette was very nice and complemented the other ingredients. I enjoyed it and being that it was ample in size was able to take some home for lunch tomorrow. Very good if you need a quick and easy healthy choice. The first time I went there I picked out the ingredients for my salad and it was delicious. The second time I went there, it was pretty darn good. There wasn't a third time, as I bought my own ingredients to make my salad at home because... after all almost $20.00 for a salad is a lot. When you enter, they fill your bowl with lots of greens. There's 3 or 4 types. Then you can choose wild rice or quinoa, after that we get 4 choices to pick from of about 12 different items. Like onion, carrot, broccoli salad, garbanzo beans etc... There are cheese choices for extra $ and chicken either roasted or blackened. I'd say other than the greens, the portions are small, but the balance of the end product is very good. Great dressings to choose from and a high end slice of bread. The people are wonderful and there's a window to watch them clean the greens and fixin's. I didn't give them 5 stars only because as good as it is, I think the protein might be a bit light on this otherwise perfect meal. I highly recommend. It got me on track to eat more salad in general because of all the great ideas there. Do yourself a favor and get familiar with this place! read more
