Been passing by this sweetgreen location forever and always noticed the parking lot behind the building marked for sweetgreen customers. Today it was completely full though. What was funny is there honestly weren't that many people inside, so maybe some people came separately in multiple cars. Ordered the Harvest Bowl and honestly it's consistently good every time. Fresh, balanced, hard to complain about. The staff here has always been friendly and helpful from my experience. Service is quick and organized, and the place is generally clean. Same goes for the restroom -- I didn't use it this visit, but during past visits it's always been clean. There's seating inside plus a good amount of outdoor tables, which is nice for Silver Lake. I also finally started using the app and it's actually pretty good. The rewards system weirdly makes ordering feel like a little game. I never used to care about points or rewards, but now I'm collecting them for future meals apparently. Would I have come in today without rewards? Maybe. But it definitely works. Overall, still a solid 5/5 experience for me, even with the parking lot being packed. read more

This was one of the most heartbreaking restaurant experiences I've ever had. My husband and I came to Sweetgreen for our very first outing after the birth of our baby. We finally managed to get out of the house together while our newborn was asleep in the stroller. We hadn't eaten since early that morning, we were exhausted, emotional, and this little walk meant a lot to us. Money was also very tight. We spent almost everything we had on this meal because we were both starving. I ordered a bowl and my husband ordered a wrap. Neither menu item was marked as spicy. My bowl listed "jalapeño sauce," but there was absolutely no indication that it was spicy. I had never had jalapeño sauce before, so I had no idea what to expect. After my very first bite, I realized I couldn't eat it at all because it was far too spicy for me. My husband politely asked if the bowl could simply be remade without the spicy sauce since I had only taken one bite. The employee immediately refused in a very rude way and told him we would have to buy an entirely new bowl. There was absolutely no empathy or willingness to help. We weren't trying to get free food. We just wanted to be able to eat the meal we had spent our last money on. At that point I started crying. Between recovering from childbirth, the lack of sleep, being extremely hungry, and realizing I couldn't even eat my dinner, it was just too much. Then the employee told my husband they would only charge us an extra $5 to remake the bowl. Based on that, my husband agreed. But when we checked the receipt, they had actually charged us the full price of a new bowl, about $13. We were told one thing and charged another. That left us with literally no money in our account. The complete lack of compassion and the dishonest communication made an already difficult day even worse. Please clearly label spicy items on your menu. Not everyone knows that "jalapeño sauce" automatically means extremely spicy, especially if there is no spicy warning on the menu. We will never be coming back to this location. read more

My second time in and I gotta say, enjoying it with bae was pretty great in every way. We had great service, found good seating in the warm bright modern wooden layout and perfect huge portion bowls - plenty of options for everyone. The Hummus Crunch (with za'atar bread crumbs on the side) was just what I needed. He had the Maple Glaze Brussels + Chicken, loaded with roasted sweet potatoes and of course brussel sprouts. Two great meals of fresh, healthy, great goodness made our night with every bite. We both thought about trying out ripple fries, but there's always next time for those scratch-made crispy air-fried potatoes #NewMenuItems Parking in the area is street, local metro transit runs consistently, also very pedestrian friendly, bike and scooter friendly area at the east south side corner of Sunset Blvd/Sanford Avenue at the 2.5 way intersection where Santa Monica Blvd stops/merges with Sunset - on the same side as/just before Tartine, Rough Trade and The Black Cat. Note: this location gets tons of foot traffic, but is rarely full - that said the restrooms can get a little wild with overflowing bins. With so many places to eat around Sunset Boulevard in the Hollywood LA area, you could pretty much turn a corner and find something interesting. Today's stop was Sweetgreen. I've been here once before about six months ago, and I decided to pop back in and give it another shot. It's definitely a trendy spot, just like a lot of places along this strip. You get an upscale, hip crowd in here, so if you like to people-watch, this is the perfect place to post up for a bit. The staff runs a tight ship, too. They've got a large crew behind the counter, usually with about three people rotating to take your order, so things move quickly and your food's made fresh to order. This time I went with the Chicken Avocado Ranch, but I made a couple of swaps. Instead of the white rice, I asked for extra spinach and lettuce, and instead of the tortilla chips, they gave me these sweet potato pieces that worked surprisingly well. They were roasted and cut like mini chips, and honestly, they blended right in with everything else. The flavors came together beautifully. The green goddess ranch dressing coated everything evenly without overpowering it, and the pickled onions, apples, avocado, and roasted chicken gave it a perfect mix of tangy, sweet, and savory. It's a pretty big, hearty salad overall. Definitely enough to fill you up. Every bite had a little crunch, a little creaminess, and a lot of flavor. I'll definitely be back. Sadly I can no longer come to this location! They have messed up not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES since my last review. Before getting into it, I have visited other SG locations since, and have not ran into these issues. First problem: I ordered for in store pick up and I got a confirmation email saying my order was "ready for pickup". I came inside, and waited another 21 minutes. Yes, you read that correctly. 21 whole minutes. I verbalized my frustration to the employee and not a sincere apology, nothing. Second problem: I ordered a green goddess with chicken. Got home, NO CHICKEN. Got charged for it though. Third problem: I ordered a green goddess salad again. Got home. NO DRESSING. I truly do not know what is going on at this location or why the workers suddenly became so careless, but three strikes and you're out. That was the final straw for me. Please, for the love of God, educate your employees to properly make these orders, and to not say an order is ready when it isn't! STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. The food is great. They keep this place somewhat clean and organized. It wasn't messy like I've seen Cava and Chipotle get. The service? Not so much. As others have said, they prioritize call-in orders. I find this to be rude especially when you have a customer in-person right in front of you. I came in and stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes and the server was right in front of me and started a phone-in order without even saying hi or welcome. I watched her make the phone orders for a few more minutes. Never got a hi or anything..and I walked away to a table to text some friends. I wanted to give her some space and time. Figured ok, Bad mood, let her do her thing. About 15 minutes later she handles a few more customers and by then it was different staff at the front. It was light and filling at the same time, if I return I will always order this. There is plenty of free parking in the back, a real bonus considering that the businesses in this part of Silverlake usually just offer street parking. I tried ordering online per directions on the sweetgreen app to order to online only menu items. However as we know tech can sometimes be our worst enemy. I approach nervously to the ordering counter and asked politely if it's possible to order the online only menu items at the counter. Anna was kind enough to go out of her way to create what can only be described as the most amazing refreshing and energizing salads to date. She went above and beyond the call of duty and fetched the culinary sweet green binder on the other side of the restaurant to create two salads that are only available online. She did so with the sweet green smile and positive attitude following every step with detail and care. I ordered a bowl with spinach, lettuce, broccoli, sweet potatoes, barbeque chicken, apple slices, purple onion, and jasmine rice. I ordered several sauces on the side. While the food is always good, the customer service has something to be said. I stood for several minutes waiting to be waited on while two employees try to get all of the remaining lettuce out of one container into the next container and not once did they acknowledge myself or the people in line. When I was up the gentleman who helped me also helped the person behind me. Mine was a simple order. The person behind me literally ordered every little detail. I had to wait an extra five minutes while the person behind me was taken care of when I should've been already at the register. Twice I mentioned to the employee that we are not together the person behind me and myself. And he acknowledged yes, I understand. The employee knew the person behind me and was making small talk. Wow. What a treat! The staff was a bit scripted, I have a sense they have training on what all to ask and when to ask it? They are very thorough. The salad I got was amazing! There was ample everything and, if I wanted, I had a sense that I could ask for a bit more of something and it would be ok. The coolest thing, for me, was the packaging. This was my first visit to a SG shop. It is apparently like a Chipotle but with salad or grains. They have some preset items that you can order, or build your own bowl. I asked the girl helping me (more about her in a minute) if everything in the Hot Honey Chicken Plate was gluten free. She said she would check for me, and went to the register to look something up in a book. While I waited, I asked another gentleman how this shop worked and if I could get additional toppings added to my bowl. He said I could but would have to pay extra for premium toppings. Now this girl comes back with her Resting B* Face and the "I'm better than you" snotty voice to tell me that everything but the quinoa is gluten free, which I was confused about since quinoa is a GF grain. She said she didn't want to take any chances, and I didn't argue since I didn't know how they prepare the quinoa so I asked to have it with rice instead. She proceeded to build my bowl but didn't ask if I wanted to add any additional toppings. She continued to process my order looking like she couldn't be bothered being there, I paid and I was on my way. She didn't offer me a bag to carry my food, sauce, fork and napkins, so maybe it's the SG policy in trying to reduce trash? So lucky me got to walk down several blocks back to my destination with my lunch supplies in my hands. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe management just wrote her up for her poor attitude, but if you ever want to have someone treat you like a second class citizen, talk to this lady. I knocked off a star for sucky service. The Hot Honey Chicken Plate that I got just looked really sad, the portions looked disappointing for what I was paying. They should at least make the bowl LOOK bigger and better by filling the bowl up a little more of the kale slaw in there as a filler. But I do have to say, the Hot Honey Chicken Plate was darn delicious. The blackened chicken was flavorful, the sweet potatoes were a nice addition, and the sauce that comes with it is spicy and sweet and soo good! I really enjoyed my meal and would probably be a repeat customer, as long as I don't get the same lady serving me. By the way, I checked the sweetgreen website afterwards, and their quinoa is actually gluten free...Thanks lady for your knowledge of your products. I have recently joined Sweetpass+, which cost $10/month. I did that before realizing that when your order through the SG app, they charge roughly $7 in delivery fees. If someone plans to order regularly, that is ridiculous. They need to show some respect to loyal customers. No, the $3 off each salad doesn't make up for the ridiculous delivery costs! I just plugged the same order into the SG app and Postmates; the known ripoff of Postmates was cheaper in total! I attempted to report my grievance through the SG app, but it is a bunch of automated BS, that doesn't let you report such concerns. Now for the salads, most times they are delicious. It is good to have a quick healthy option you don't need to think about. Sometimes they stiff you on ingredients. If they don't get the delivery fees down, I will not order from them as much and will definitely abandon Sweetpass+. As of now, I don't recommend it! read more
